Hard enough to realize Mr. Zevon is gone but now his buddy David is following him. Their music keeps me going. Great time to discover real music the 60’s through awhile later. Thank you.
Me too I saw him do his Mercury Blues in german tv and I was stunned by the sheer power and perfection within a few seconds. I managed to see him live in 2001 in Ann Arbour. He will not be forgotten.

I didn't think it was possible for any version to rival Warren himself, but then I saw this. David, your playing was part of a soundtrack for many of us while growing up. Your work was inimitable. Thank you.
I remember david as a fellow art student at pasadena city college around 1964. He would be playing locally at the ice house in pasadena and took me to his art studio. Great guy. Charles mingus jr. Was also in the same class taught by artist shiro ikegawa. Heady times!
Did he write you back? I wrote Mel Gibson after the movie The Passion he has a church that he built in Malibu not to far from me…anyways he wrote me back!!!!
I can't think of anyone who does better covers of Warren's songs. He finds the heart and soul every time. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum Hoist the mainsail - here I come Ain't no room on board for the insincere You're my witness, I'm your mutineer I was born to rock the boat Some may sink but we will float Grab your coat - let's get out of here You're my witness, I'm your mutineer Long ago we laughed at shadows Lightning flashed and thunder followed It could never find us here You're my witness, I'm your mutineer -WZ
quartzimaging I don’t know if you’ll get this. But David was real good friends with Warren. He was extremely cut up about Warren’s death. I know this because David and I were exchanging emails at the time. Or at least Joanne Lindley mostly was. Great artists, great people. There are worse.
quartzimaging I can think of someone...Jackson Browne is not so bad at covering warren's songs. Of course JB can't play guitar like David but he can sing a whole lot better. Maybe that's why Jackson and David together are so awesome.
when I was a young lad.. I lived in Escondido, California where a Mr Dupero had a violin and guitar making studio.. from Hungary.. he was the inventor of the Dobro guitar.. he taught a friend.. who lived down the street from me.. I sold him my 36 Epiphone f hole.. and have been kicking myself ever since... thanks Mr Lindley.. it's always a pleasure, sir
I had the honor to meet David April 30, 2016. I had a short conversation with him and he signed a CD I bought that night. An amazing man. I told him he belongs in the hall of fame. I also mentioned so did Warren. An amazing night for me. One from my bucket list.
My uncle told me about watching Jackson Browne and David Lindley touring the East Coast in the early 70s just after Jackson Browne's Saturater Before Using dropped. He was, by all accounts, 'effing amazing. And I'm proud to say that David is "family". Those of you who know understand what I'm saying. The rest of you...well. You just don't understand. But that's OK. David is a virtuoso on all things stringed.

Always great to hear him keep Warren's songbook out there. Thanks for the video. I agree with the other comment about a DVD being a great idea!

David ist ein sehr guter Musiker, er hätte eine größere Rolle spielen dürfen

You gotta admire David Lindley's sense of style. /|\
Wow, on edibles
What tuning is this?
Sounds to me like Open D - D A D F# A D, I believe the blues players call it 'Vestapol'.
yeah. open D. best spot is a corruption of Sebastopol.
Rakastan tätä
On vaan jätkiä, jotka vetää.
