Me and my brother who played since game launched have barely touched ranked last two seasons because of cheaters and the (still current) tdm meta playstyle. We have way more fun in standard and QM (sry kini) than ranked. U get more calls from randoms and ppl actually use strats and setups there compared to ranked. Love Siege because of the strategy and gadget use, if i wanna play run and gun i play other games.
All of these balance patches with small nerfs or changes nobody asked for add up to a pattern of bad balance focus where they just randomly nerf shit that isn’t needed. The nade change would be good if they simply took away nading from below by reducing the shrapnel through soft surfaces but they decided to take away one of the funnest and most satisfying mechanics in the game instead which was grenade cooking, but more importantly just unnecessarily made nades way worse when they could’ve nerfed it differently. Then they nerfed Lesion and yeah hes been pretty good with that rework but again, I don’t think anybody was asking for a change like that considering how he was at a very balanced state before they randomly made him worse just for the fun of making a now well rounded but not overbearing operator worse. Then there’s the impact change, which not only deincentivizes the use of them as tactical utility to counter hard breaches, shields and making 3 meter vertical explosions, but it NERFED defense instead of significantly BUFFING attackers that could use some love. Yes I like that there are situational operators but even at being situational, IQ Nokk Sens Kali Gridlock and maybe even Sledge considering how many more vertical options are in the game now could all use some very positive changes that could definitely make attacking in general significantly better. And the buffs that they actually are providing are usually small for seemingly no reason, like Oryx running through Osa shields when he should be able to jump hatches faster or more quietly, and Sens getting another projectile when they’re not gonna have many left after the first few they throw out are countered by the thousands of ways Sens can be dealt with. Sens’s problem isn’t that they don’t have enough ROUs, it’s that the ROUs they do have are countered by every explosive Mute jammers Maestro cams EMP blasts and even stopped from deploying all their LED lights by barbed wire. Why have all these counters when Ying doesn’t have nearly as many and her gadget is significantly stronger? Who knows! But it’s not like Sens is already hard enough to make work with map knowledge you need and high skill ceiling shes intrinsically designed with.
Adore the actual season most fun I’ve had in a while. Feel like the pacing of gunfights is great and the overall meta is pretty good. Too bad I can’t play the game cuz the cheaters are absolutely absurd right now.
Bikini explained nokk as, "a tech card", and claims it's ok for her to be niche. What he doesn't realize is that tech cards are for noobs or for the terminally tilted. The only time a tech card is played is when it can "counter" an oppressive strategy, and even then it's just better to run a card that has synergy with your deck or a card that is straight up powerful. The problem nokk has is the same as prebuff suppressor, which is their opportunity cost. Why did suppressor need to reduce damage when you were already missing out on recoil reduction? Why pick nokk for her ability when you are missing out on a better gun and/or better utility? Nokk will only ever be good when she either has her ability buffed so that it may be used proactively more consistently or she has a good gun. Don't mistake my passion for vitriol. I love siege.
I think this is the role Ubisoft wants Nokk to fall into. It's a shame, but it makes sense. A lot of people fall into the category of "I will main this operator", which is allowed because certain operators just have SUCH GOOD VALUE (think Ace, Ash, Hibana, Iana). However, when you have 36 different options, it makes sense that the game wants you to be able to flip flop operators and choose different strategies as you go.
@@mreverything7056 I think it works in an e sports scene where teams have strengths and weaknesses. Bring her against a team that relies on lots of cameras, right? It just feels like she could be tuned to be a bit better at being a playmaker in my opinion.

I think is having the same problems that COD had(or still has) because of the old game engine that siege uses (that in a same way COD did they only update the engine instead useing a completly new one) because of this on PC the game is easily exploitible for cheaters and cheat makers (hence cheaters being rampart on PC) either Ubisoft isn't giving the devs resources to deal with it or they dont care. I've noticed how much client sided shenanigans are effecting Siege, it's recently started driving me up a wall. I play Valorant along with Siege, so flipping these games is HARD. Not because I'm not used to the different game styles, but because of the latency. In Valorant, if someone swings me, they have around 100 ms more reaction time then me. In Siege, its about 500 ms. The game NEEDS to recode and update its engine. TDM exists because of anti-drone and anti-gadget operators like Azami and Solis, while the horrible netcode PROMOTES peaking.

In Fact i think the servers along side the old game engine one 3 main probelms with r6 siege curently the third one being that the devs/ubisoft are trying to make the game for everyone hence the random balancing patches that sometimes swings to tdm bros and sometimes tacticool bros but the problem is when the devs chose the middle road (by that i mean appealing to everyone) they do some random shit that pisses off the casuals and the pro league.

Speaking from personal experience with the Iana change I really enjoy it having my teammates refrag information is key to winning a round
