Not a new radio, but a nice dual band rig that works great and has great reviews. The ICOM ID-5100A is a full-featured wide band radio that also includes D-Star.
I no longer have this radio in my car, so I can't make a video. However, I used the ICOM Remote Separation Cables OPC-1663 to connect to the base of the radio. I then ran the cable from the trunk to the front of the vehicle.
@@mr.horsepower7104 I know other hams that use an automatic RF coax switch and a RTL-SDR module to run a waterfall. It is not integrated with the radio and I have only seen this on HF.

Thank you.. i want one now
Thanks for the info about mounting the display and it has to be directly towards yours view .
Does Icom offer a microphone extension cable to go along with the separation cable???
Wish I could buy that Kenwood head.
Would like to see how your mic is connected since there is no port in the faceplate and your radio was pretty far away.

Yep,mmic mounts on left hand side of face plate, and not forgetting the display gets washed out in the sunshine?
Is there anyway to use your tablet as waterfall screen
Not that I know of, sorry.
Ok thanks for the reply

Mine don't wash out. Very bright. You got a bad radio
Not forgetting the display gets washed out in strong sunlight, ? Lol
ouch I hate you lost your other radio to shorting out from water. Never a good thing.
Yes, it was. It was a really great radio, but then it was a Kenwood. That model is no longer made and I couldn't find it again anywhere.
Ham radio is boring. There is nothing exciting or interesting going. Just bored men talking about their radios It is boring and more boring

Not true. Listen to the ham radio feeds on Broadcastify in hurricane affected areas. Plenty of action.
