I love how Bohemia makes the vehicles futuristic but feel normal

That's why you find a safe landing zone. Too many public servers I've seen do too many risky helicopter insertions, no one wants to land behind some ridgelines where it's safe.

I do know that there are some vehicles missing from the video! I wanted to highlight the bigger ones that are the more militarized ones before i covered the civilian ones :D

its a M240 look alike the handle gives it away and 249s are a bit smaller both in receiver and barrel length
I like how to warthog has a v shaped underside to deflect bombs like modern military vehicles, gotta love that attention to detail.

APFSDS stands for Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding-Sabot. Basically, high penetration, high accuracy, high speed rounds!
I love the light trucks, they're something vanilla Arma was missing for a while, the Hunters and other MRAPs are nice but for certain situations you really want that small fast vehicle, what's especially cool is air dropping the Prowlers in the Blackfish.
20 mm's are in fact "auto cannons" (not mini guns) and auto cannons are always explosive. It is in fact the smallest caliber "cannon" you can get.
The 105 cannon is an artillery cannon, equivalent to the round size of the iconic M101 and M102 Howitzer (still in service). The only other self propelled artillery in Arma 3 is a 155 if I remember correctly.
That means the VTOL is an absolute flying monster, although it may be very vulnerable to anti-air as well as enemy fighters.
Cool thing is that you can actually fire from these open vehicles, in passanger seats.. really well suited for something like Tanoa.

Also, the things lifting the CSAT CTOL is called fans instead of rotors.

The CSAT's equivalent to those Prowlers remind me heavily of the rovers used in Terra Nova. In fact, the Prowlers have the same color scheme.
So Tanoa, a dinosaur mod, and Terra Nova rovers. Hmmm...

Hey drewski, you can actually open the ramp by going into pilot of the nato VTOL. Also, the nato armed LSV gunner works for me in virtual arsenal, and that gun in commander seat isnt an M249 but an SPMG. :P
This is the first time i have wanted to play without rhs. Oh and you can open the ramp from the pilots seat (Vehicle carrier does not work yet, but still).
I noticed how for some reason, the NATO prowler looks like a warthog from halo, weird but I can't shake it. The CSAT VTOL looks a lot like the quinjets from the recent marvel/avenger movies
prowler is my favourite vechicle of arma 3. I use it on the ahoy invade & annex server all the time
for the xian if you get in as co pilot and take control you can fly and have optics for the guns
@OperatorDrewski Havent found any changes on NATO vehicle pacific skins though, still the sand variant. Could get in the guns of the prowler and could get the ramp to lower on the VTOLs by going in the pilot slot
The missiles on the CSAT drone are super powerful btw
The csat vtol reminds me a lot of the clone gunships from Star Wars.

What about the prowler
40mm APFSDS-T (Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot - Tracer
40mm GPR-T (General Purpose Round - Tracer)
General purpose is almost a jack of all trades round, good penetration decent accuracy while the APFSDS is a more accurate and lethal round built for the purpose of destroying armored targets.
the acronyms are fairly easy to remember.
Hey BTW, did you know that you can actually make a 360 degree turn on the ground and not move at all with the Xi'an? Try it sometime, it's mind-boggling.
With the new map the Bushmaster would be a great Vehicle because so far for armored ground transport we have the hunter, the marshal, the panther, the slammer. And if your going up hill you only have the hunter that could go a reasonable speed. So a light armored transport (bushmaster) would be great as it hold 1 driver 1-2 gunners and 8 passengers if there is 2 gunners (if one gunner 9 passengers) so that is why i think something like it should be added to the game (i know there is a mod for it)
I pre-orded a couple of weeks ago, I have the sneak peak version installed. I can access all weapons on vehicles and the drones.
How'd you get access to them? I'm using the dev branch and can't access any new Apex material (minus Tanoa) in the editor.
*edit* never mind, needed to access the "sneak peak" option under Betas.
I managed to use the weapons on the LSVs. Perhaps try the other versions / colors, that might work.
That armed Blackfish is kind of... Spooky.
I wonder if OPTRE will look into CSAT's VTOL for the Pelican.

Really sad the vtols don't have autohover. Would have been way easier than: airbrake on keyboard and consistently increase vectoring with the mousewheel
Meh, most experienced helicopter pilots never touch autohover, I myself never use it unless I'm trying to slingload something.

you can open the ramp if you go in to pilot
ramp opens from pilot and co-pilot controls and no u cant seem to get the vehicle in teh back yet or sling load

The Vtol plane Xi'an probably refer to the capital city of Shaaxi Province.

NATO light weights have more armor and a better sight than then the CSAT ones, however the CSAT has one extra seat.

That cannon on the MV-22 is a 105mm.
After watching the new E3 trailer, there was a part where the CTRG guys stacked up on a door before breaching into a building. Does anyone know if they're adding in such a function, or is it just for show in the trailer or scripted event for that particular point in the campaign?

After flying it quite a lot in public servers, it's a beast, but it's such a whale to control.
Landing like a plane is pretty easy but landing like a helicopter is so slow and clunky unless you get practice.
I tried using the vtols in the editor, and the ai can't fly to save there lives right now. I will have to stick with the mv22 until the ai are fixed.

It pretty much is, but in actual fact the US Army is looking at a similar concept for their Future Vertical Life program has various requirements to replace the Blackhawk, Apache, Chinook and Kiowa helicopters, as well as a MR-Ultra, a VTOL aircraft that can provide a vertical takeoff transport capability of a C-130, so while it's a BI design the concept is already being looked into by today's military.
