EPISODE 7: We build a Log Store and cook some food inside the Cabin (plus more but don't want to spoil it). Can't thank you all enough for joining us on the adventure! Thank you. - Mike
also i think if you dont care that much you should add some pitch to that deck so that it dosnt soak as much water and warp, the way the roof is all the rains gonna collect in the edges and run to the deck, or you can add a pitch to the roof so the water runs to the back
Although small, the GStove is the best. Worth every penny. I watched a video where a guy cooked a steak, made coffee and baked a small cake all at the same time. Great video, thank you for sharing.
I watched one where a guy baked a bannock in the same oven, they are a brilliant little stove but I think a little more than I would want to pay or lug around
Best part for me was watching a son spend treasures time with his father building together. Makes me wish I would have spent more time with my father. Appreciate the time you have with your dad cause you never know when it will end, life is very short. Thank you for sharing.
I think you and your dad are brillant...your relationship is amazing ..I miss my dad so much and it gives me comfort watching you with your dad. My dad passed 5 years ago ..you both are awesome...and you can tell your each others best friend...peace love and light
Very impressive boys!!! My grandkids would love on in the back yard!! Your videos have been 1000% interesting, educational and inspiring. Thank you for sharing!!
you gentleman are experiencing a true father/son project, no matter the distant future of your cabin, you will always have the memeories of this build, well done & thank you
I've been watching these videos non-stop. I'm so thankful to have found it. My grandfather and his Dad built a log cabin in 1959. I spent the better part of my childhood there. I always wondered what it was like for those two to build that cabin. Watching this has been like watching my Pop and his Dad. Thank you, I know how my kids and I will spend our time when I get to be your Dad's age.
This series is brilliant for no other reason than a father and son spending quality time together! As someone who only gets to see his parents everyone year or two (international family), I would love to get to spend time like this with my parents. The cabin is secondary. The real "accomplishment" is the laughter and memories that you both will have from this time together! Wonderful seeing you both having fun together as a father and son. What life is really all about!! Thanks for your willingness to share this experience with us! Blessings!
I quite like the ambient candlelight! Bring back Theory time but with more candles. The soft light keeps it a bit more intimate with the viewer. Awesome series, been watching since the beginning.
That is the most Amazing wood burning stove, oven or cooker and water boiler. I have never seen anything like this. Shelter, food, water and staying warm is all you need out there. Who ever invented this is a genius and it appears to be stainless steel.
It looks fantastic, and its only $350 for the base stove, and $80 for boiler and other cooking accessories. p1a9d6d6y is kind of right, they have that water boiler which holds 3iters, and a bigger one that is like the cooker that holds over a gallon.
your Father & Son relationship is Wonderful. love all your videos! Practical and intelligent coupled with a real sense of humor and enjoyment. Thanks for sharing and God bless you!
TA outdoors, a cool thing to add is some sort of window cover. Basically like the table you made, put a hanger on the roof so you can have light in the day and dark when your trying to sleep.
Mike, you and Dad reinforce your channel moniker “Totally Awesome” with every new installment in this series. Thanks for sharing this TA project with all of us; I find it very creative and entertaining as well.
Absolutely one of my favorite TH-cam series now! You guys do an incredible job of keeping the projects going. I can't wait to tune in for each next episode. The ambient lighting was actually perfect, very homey. Just watching you guys build each thing step by step is completely inspiring for my own To-Do list at my cabin. I like how you go all out, just silently getting each job done in detail. Then you take breaks to talk about it and have tea. It's just a perfect show. You guys are great hosts. Keep it up!
You guys are the greatest . I think the whole idea is great . Keep up the great work. You both are experiencing the friendships that will never be forgotten. Thanks for sharing !
Thank you for this excellent series! So many inspiring projects and a very sympathetic father son duo. That's why I love youtube. Greets from Switzerland
I had to stop and write this just as you got the wood storage done. You and your pop are bad asses for building this cabin. I cant tell you how radical it actually is. This is by far one of my top 5 channels i cant get enough of. Just can't. And now I cant wait for more trips to this cabin. Thank you both for being awesome. You rock!!!!
Wow, truly inspirational. What a great father and son relationship you both have, you must be very proud of each other. You need to have your own TV Show, that would be awesome. ATB. Steve
OldManGlitch yeah I agree, when I try to break them up I destroy more than I selvage but I guess it does help to get in touch with my manhood (boys love smashing shit) so not a total waste of time. Would like to keep each piece in one piece thou.
I am absolutely loving this series of videos. What a great project. We don't see behind the scenes, but you and your Dad seem to have a great and honest respect for one another and your independent ideas. To me, it's not about what you are doing, but that you are doing things together. Don't see too much of that these days. Awesome... keep up the great work!
I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the two of you working together on this project. It's amazing to see your creativity. Please, please keep the videos coming. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Dont know if you read comments but I was thinking if you wanted to make it a two sleeper cabin instead of widening the whole cabin it's tall enough to build an offset bunk style bed above and behind the raised bed just big enough to crawl in to sleep and it would at the same time keep wood dry and you could use the entire lower side of that cabin.... I don't imagine it would be that difficult to add on and just extend the roof
Don't know how cold winters are there but just a thought if you decide to modify the cabin and build on an offset bunk bed/wood storage I'd imagine the bunk would be quite warm as heat rises but the actual bottom would be exposed to wind and to lay on directly would be a little chilly to say the least.... solution: I'd say would be to allow a 1& 1/2 to 2 inch channel and spray the entire underside with that expanding foam sealant in a can, then once dry take a wire and shave off the excess and enclose with pallet wood or plywood. (Of course you'd build this base for the bunk before attaching to side of cabin as to make the build flow alot smoother) add supports at the right height to give you enough storage bump it up and secure to cabin and finish with walls and elongating the roof... Easy Peasy Two sleeper w/insulated bunk cabin.
Well done gents! Keep it up! I love how rustic and charming the cabin is! Thanks for being original and entertaining! It shows how much fun you’re both having! You’re bringing a lot of joy to a lot of people!
So awsome!!!! , Been saving pallets from where i work to build a hunting blind but after watching you guys ive upgraded to a cabin / hunting blind build. The memories that your son will have after your long gone will be priceless!! Can't wait to start my build with my son and 2 grandsons!!! Thanks for the insperation.
I have been following this project with great interest. I see it for what it is, and you two are very fortunate to be able to spend this time together on this project. I can see that you are having a great time, and making memories...
Absolutely love🔩 watching your father-son relationship, 🛠banter and humour. 🔦Awesome! This✏ build has just blown me away! It's turning into a real tiny home and gets better and better with each addition🏠 Fantastic job guys

Another great video guys. The painted white ceiling really did help and our Dad reminds me of mine. Always saved every nail, screw and hinge for little projects we'd do. Can't wait to see what's next.
Husband and I are savoring these, one video a night after dinner. Love the way you work together, even when your father is a bit of a nut! 😁. It's hilarious to see what he does with his knife before he cuts up dinner with it! Hoping for many more episodes, from Kentucky USA
still think should try to get like a cheap cheap solar light. I know trying for completely Free. but there is safety needed. also perhaps putting a latch outside that a padlock could be placed on would be useful. for the chinking if you have something like Twine you could use that. unless have like outdoor caulking

I am planning to build a cabin in 2018 and this series has been so inspiring. I love how simple and cheap the design is. Thank you!

Old school dads are simply the best you can have. Love your vids.
You guys really have something there. Nice job!
Great work it's good to see father passing on the wisdom to the younger folks. I wanna try to make one. Been watching from the start.
Beyond the number of pallets, how about a video showing how to tear down a pallet successfully to get the best out of each pallet.
OldManGlitch yes a great idea!

Your best bet for a recycled materials stove is to build a gas bottle rocket stove. There are plenty of tutorials here on TH-cam.
Outstanding. Seeing you and your dad makes me miss mine. Thx for sharing

You and Joe Robinet ate my two TH-cam hero's but honestly Mike..... you're killing it right now you're gonna go bigger and further than you know brother!
You can get solar lights that literally just stick through the roof, and you can turn them off and on
I now know what I'm going to pass on to my son's. Thank you for the inspiration.
Need a wee set of curtains for that window make it extra cosy lol
Yes let's see you make curtains ....out of pallet wood!
Gary Morse shutters will work
My thoughts were some kind of insulation for the windae but I'll wait and see what the guys get round to, its still a work in progress.
Another great video guys. The painted white ceiling really did help and our Dad reminds me of mine. Always saved every nail, screw and hinge for little projects we'd do. Can't wait to see what's next.

Good one lads. How about a fishing net hanging across the roof on the inside and a lobster pot in one corner of roof😁
Father and son.. sharing a build and creative outlet. Nothing better.
Make a wooden wagon so u can use it to gather wood with
Cameron Waddell it'd be hard to build that with recycled materials but wait a couple of trash pick up days and we may get iy
This series has been amazing. Love seeing y'alls videos in my feed
still think should try to get like a cheap cheap solar light. I know trying for completely Free. but there is safety needed. also perhaps putting a latch outside that a padlock could be placed on would be useful. for the chinking if you have something like Twine you could use that. unless have like outdoor caulking
How Incredibly what an amazing effort ..you two are awesome I would like to thank you two for taking us along on this adventure ..I'll be waiting for the next update ..take care dad,&,son
nice vide mate been watching you since 50k
The relationship you have with your father is incredible and vice versa. I haven't seen or spoken to my father in almost 9 years nor has he tried to contact me. Hell he hasn't even attempted to be in his grandchildren's life. Don't take what you have for granted. As always i am loving this series and it makes me a little jealous you get to do this with your dad. Keep it up you are fastly becoming one of my favorite youtubers and i always am excited to see you post a vid. :)
13min 29seconds in and if saw correctly, that your cabin has a stove, hot water heater AND an oven, the tiny house community and wandwellers are going to Be crazy about that! It's pricey but it's a really awesome little unit.
This is just the best series I've seen. I find myself checking daily for new episodes and you're cranking them out at a good clip! I'm waiting for the overnighters and in the rain listening to the tin roof. Carry on guys. Two thumbs up.
In this episode, Mike and his Dad make a pallet out of old pallet wood. :)
I love the way your dad is an asset, both of by you so clever. Love thenrustoc lights and oven.

You are both fantastic and think it's absolutely wonderful that you are both doing this project together and we really do see and feel the camaraderie and love between the two of you. It reminds me of my family. I have watched every episode of this Pallet Cabin series so far and even watched it with my 4 & 5 year old kids (I am a Nanny) and they love it, or course now they want to build it too lol. Keep up the great work, take care and I look forward to your follow up videos.
Sincerely, Donna.
Where did you get that many pallets?
many places throw them out and just ask to take them
We have a few places around our city that stack pallets at the end of their lot for people to take. We usually take them to build a halloween facade each year.
I absolutely adore your dad, he cracks me up! He reminds me of my dad! ❤️
PLEASE do a recycled stove!!!!
Why don't you build another cabin for your dad , I think it would be so cool if the both of you's had one of your own. Really love what you have done .It's such an awesome plan to do it all for free . I can just see my boyfriend doing this , as he is a carpenter by trade . I just know he would be in his own glory making his own man cave in the woods behind our home . Please keep the video's coming . I so have been enjoying everyone of them . I can tell your all such a loving family with lots of love ,caring and alot of humor between the both of you's. So long for now ,until then next time this is Diane from up state New York .Happy Trails.
That stove/oven is so badass. How many attachments can you get?
Christopher Haynie it would be really cool if you could remove the bottom panel of the oven and turn it into a smoking box for meat.
Because of this video series, I'm subscribing. Your dad is an awesome guy, so are you. Thank you for the quality content for us who don't have the possibility to do it ourselves.
pardon me gentalmen l know it's only a one man cabin but on the outside chance that maybe you have a guest on occasion why not add a fold down upper bunk ?
This series and channel just keep getting better. Totally awesome!
