This game had it all:
1. Big roster
2. Many game modes
3. Many options
4. Great stages
5. Great character sprites
6. Great music
7. Epic boss battles
I agree with everything except stages
People forget that most of the character sprites were recycled from previous games.
Which is why the huge roster.

Even after so many years Capcom vs SNK 2 is still beloved by many fans and Max is showing us just how beloved this game truly is. The music, the character Dynamic, the stages, chef's kiss.
The great thing about this game is that you always get to see a sneaky surprise attack at the start of the round.
Nah, sometimes you also get to feel the calm before the storm as the round begins.

@AntaresArcade yeah I just run it on Batocera and it works like a dream. Can't play online, but I'm glad I know people IRL that wanna play it.
I sold my Capcom vs. SNK 2 game for PlayStation 2 years ago with the rest of the fighting games I had back then.
Using the in-game transition to cut between matches is so smooth, that's great.
I just came back from my classroom where I hooked up a CRT and introduced my students to the GC version of this. Not the ideal control scheme but we made due.
Seeing this game in the arcade in culver city california really inspired me to want to make games. I do now, still haven't made a game that popped off yet but I believe and will continue trying.

This game is such an underated GEM ! I told my friend who wanted to get into fighting games to play this and was disappointed when most games he played after didn't have the presentation or music this game had GOD THE MUSIC!

The bosses are on a completely different level in this game. God Rugal is still the most difficult Rugal of them all, imo. Only second to his KOF 2002 UM version.

I love this game ever since I was a kid. It was my first introduction to the SNK roster of characters. And the music fucking slaps.

The only exceptions are in KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A and KOF XV
K-Groove Rock is high tier in this game.

I’ve been playing Tekken since T2 and it’s without a doubt my fav fighting game series…but Capcom vs SNK 2 is the greatest fighting game ever made to me.
what really stands out about this game too after all these years is the sound design - not even just the music, but the power behind the hit effects/voices/crunchiness, even the menu noises. Peak stuff

I played CVS2 today! I did 3 playthroughs of arcade mode. I did 3 on 3 mode & in one playthrough, I defeated Ultimate Rugal on my first try.😀
Man this game always brings me back, I get hooked anytime I play it lol

The stages and music in this game are amazing, my favourite theme in this game has to be the London stage's. They need to port these games in a collection or seperately to the new gen consoles.

CVS2 I think it's the best crossover fighting game ever. Two companies, six playing style, and one custom Groves. I really love it
I’m a little surprised that no one is talking about the smooth match transitions, they’re almost hard to notice.
I love the London Stage like everyone but for real ,the song that starts at 0:37 is probly my fav in the game

I really want to like the new street fighter….. but the artwork of the sprite based fighting games is just so much better.
I hope next capcom vs snk would have more than 44ish characters, but 40ish for both side would be nice with wealth of characters
