Thanks heaps for this video. I wish I had seen it sooner. Last time I followed a video I ended up straining both of my wrists and spent months seeing a hand therapist 😂 whereas your method took me 5 minutes and is sturdier and safer than ever. I’ll save this video for my next seat installation.

Hard to find a video where they just give you simple instructions!

Shame this doesn't apply to older vehicles where the belt doesn't lock, as this video only applies to the bottom.

What if there is not a place for the tether?

Check your carseat manual AND your vehicle manual. We were very disappointed to find that our Traverse only allows one child seat in the 3rd row seating and it HAS to be in the middle due to the tether strap location and there is no latch system so you also can only use the shoulder/lap belt with the back tether anchor. Wish we'd known that before we purchased the vehicle as we were really looking forward to our boys getting ro ride on the sides of the back. Dumb! If you want to really be safe and sure, always refer to your manuals for height, weight, and seating position of your child. Better to be safe than sorry.

why does the locking clip need to be an inch or less away from the latch plate? what difference does it make if the locking clip is farther away?

It would help if you actually tried to move the car seat out and back and forth. You didn’t move or shake the car seat at all. Mine, even at max tightness, moves significantly, especially side to side.

WHERE IS THE LOCKING PIN LOCATED? is it standard on all graco carseats?
