Convert an Old MTB to Gravel Bike - Wheeler 5400 Crossline

In this video I decided to build an ultra budget gravel bike based on this old MTB Wheeler 5400 Crossline. Assembled completely of used parts.
Bike specs:
- Cr-Mo 20.5" frame
- 28" wheels
- Shimano STX 3x7 groupset + Shimano RSX Dual controls
- Cantilever brakes

I know it was a cheapo build, but that 90s stem meant that bike is for a tall individual.... (or a man with spider arms)
I have been able to squeeze 700x40c in a lot of mtbs, the room is often there

Yes, I polished the frame by hand

That stem needs to go. It ruins the geometry, because that frame is not meant for drop bars. I did something simillar and I need a really short stem for it. It look great overall, I like those custom bikes.
