Storage draws are so cheap (2x2 draws too) that its worth moving everything that you have multiple stacks of into an drawer network, which integrates well with ae2/rs
I've set up a full drawer-based storage system with auto-sorting and processing. Really happy with how it looks. The sorting/processing part will be obsolete once I get into autocrafting, but that's still a little ways off. Also using compacting drawers for the metals, as usual. Nice capacity increase and fewer autocrafting recipes needed in the end.
Why didn’t you go mekanism route for starter machines? Cheaper and you can charge from an energy cube. Well worth it as well. Also mining laser is decent still...never used it before this pack Edit: also use the botanita pot and hopper to grow any plant and auto harvest to a chest below....
you need to add Waila or the Fork that is HYWLA or something like that. It's annoying when you are using Storage Drawers and can't see how much you have in each drawer.
It's on the FTB Launcher. FTB has partnered with Overwolf (new owners of CurseForge) as a 3rd party developer, and part of that arrangement is they get to keep their own launcher. Putting their packs fully on the CurseForge website would also make them visible in the CurseForge app (Overwolf's) and significantly lower usage of their own launcher.
hrm.... fluxbore is nice, but done that so many times already. I wonder what the mining tools from astral/botania/bloodmagic/thuamcraft/somethingelse are like?
Its soo easy to get a reactor from powah. you can directly jump to 4k rf/t from 80 rf/t. Wish it was a bit more balanced but it is a kitchen sink pack.
Honestly, he explains it in the videos. He made a tetra tool to play with tetra and show it off since it is a relatively new mod. After that, he found out that tetra doesn't provide a way to do 3x3 mining (yet?). He wants 3x3 (or larger) mining, so he made a tool that can do 3x3 mining.

the astral sorcery pick is good the first upgrade gives a + 1 to the mining area so 3x3 when you attune yourself to a constellation you can get perks that get pretty insane I think a 9x9 or 11x11 depending on the perks.
you can also toggle it on and of with a hot key
Is botania in the pack? Cos I would LOVE to see the insanity Dire’d come up with to max out a Terrain Smasher.
Yes, I'm pretty sure it's included. That would be insane.
Yep I am doing botania in my playthrough for this reason. With the gold botania weapons now they are really strong.
I wander if there are ways to show Chunk boundries?
F3 + G. It's been a vanilla ability for a few versions now. F3 + Q should show all vanilla F3 key combinations.
Want a fun light show. Dire's mining laser in main hand, spell book in off hand set to cast light :P
Is there a way to get the modpack without using the FTB launcher....
Sadly not
@@razziel4599 yea could not find it on curse forge guess FTB team had a fallout with them but then the new launcher is built on the backend of curseforge Overwolf WTF..... Guess we will have to wait years to get this like Mekanism they finally got over that BS.
Yes, yes there is. Download MultiMC and turn on Dev options. I too hate the new FTB Launcher/Curse Trash. MultiMC can download and play every pack you can think of, any pack from curse can be downloaded through the interface. Anything newer than 1.12 needs the developer options turned on to see them, but they download and run just fine
@Quietust Yeah, sadly, other then that its great though
@@TheJestercraft There wasn't a falling out, their contract with Twitch expired so they started moving everything over to their own launcher again. But then Overwolf bought Curse and everything changed.
Dire if you make an AE2 system. use subnetworks for storage and autocrafting
Good luck with the ...find a lectern and get some enchanted books Dire...I haven't worked out how to get around the Mana and artifice mod hijacking the librarian. I get nothing but emeralds for a variety of white discs
Just learned theres a config option in mana and artifice for this, i'll have it turned off next version
@@direwolf20 Found it ..changed it ...thanks for the hint (in the Mana .......general.toml in config folder for anyone interested)
The new induction smelter is like the alloy smelter of enderio that will be easier to make upgrade with only thermal
can't seem to find diamonds... what Y level they are hiding in this pack?
Same as normal, they're just strangely shy. Took me three hours of solid mining to find my first few diamonds, then another hour to get enough for a quarry. Now it's not a problem any more.
i guess i am not aloud to use the fluxbore did everything the same as dire and still no keybind wanna change size yes iv upgraded it
tinker's workbench block seems buggy, cant access it or replace it randomly, save and exit and re-enter needed. Lost its RF enhancement also.\ when you do that.
Dire, can you play a little bit with Mahou Tsukai mod in this serie pls
you got a perfect overworld spawn, cant have a perfect nether spawn also, that might have hurt my brain lol
I swear in the first 5min Dire opened a chest a hundred times :)
A new direwolf pack and let's play, made me install minecraft again after several years. What kind of monster machine does one need to actually run this pack ? Turns out, my laptop has absolutly no chance :(
I am running on a fairly beefy but 3yo PC with 32GB ram ...I give 8GB to the pack
@@ockerspock3432 I toyed around with making my own, much much lighter pack. Still experimenting.
Thurasiz I made my own 1.16 modpack. It has 50 mods currently and loads noticeably faster than these beefy modpacks. With fewer overlapping mods it has fewer ways to do the same thing but I consider that a plus.
For basic 3x3, I've found the mining gadget to be amazing
8:17 Was there someone moaning (sexualy) in the background while dire was recording or do I imagine things? Listen closely, it's realy faint coming from an other room behind the walls. Maybe the neighbours?
if you have a dirty mind, then so do I
00:00 Hover One.......
20:40 Woop
Dire needs a shiny gold helm to help in the nether lol
Storage draws are so cheap (2x2 draws too) that its worth moving everything that you have multiple stacks of into an drawer network, which integrates well with ae2/rs
I've set up a full drawer-based storage system with auto-sorting and processing. Really happy with how it looks. The sorting/processing part will be obsolete once I get into autocrafting, but that's still a little ways off.
Also using compacting drawers for the metals, as usual. Nice capacity increase and fewer autocrafting recipes needed in the end.
Can't you just make 2 fluxbores and upgrade one to 7x7 and the other to only 5x5 with other options?
For energy charging: use flux Networks
There's a coal powered charger available for early game, I think
@@alexnoman1498 idk, just saw flux Networks
Flux networks requires to many pearls early game
@@braden740 oh ok
7x7 mining by ep 4? Maaaaan, I wish I could run modern packs.
Enderium, lumium, and signalum can be made in a furnace.
Is it possible to get this mod pack on pocket and how munch would it cost.
No
It's strange to se Thermal Expansion of all mods using a guidebook.
You have to put the lever on the snad block I believe
Why didn’t you go mekanism route for starter machines? Cheaper and you can charge from an energy cube. Well worth it as well. Also mining laser is decent still...never used it before this pack
Edit: also use the botanita pot and hopper to grow any plant and auto harvest to a chest below....
This Let's Play is Pretty Neat 🙃
The digital miner is not working with applied energistics 2 in this pack. Will not mine any certus quartz.
you need to add Waila or the Fork that is HYWLA or something like that. It's annoying when you are using Storage Drawers and can't see how much you have in each drawer.
7x7 mining but still no stairs... dw20 classic :D
"Oof-" - Direwolf20 22:27
We getting this pack on curseforge?
It's on the ftb launcher
No. FTB’s contract with curseforge was ended by not being renewed so they’ve gone back to their own launcher
It's on the FTB Launcher. FTB has partnered with Overwolf (new owners of CurseForge) as a 3rd party developer, and part of that arrangement is they get to keep their own launcher. Putting their packs fully on the CurseForge website would also make them visible in the CurseForge app (Overwolf's) and significantly lower usage of their own launcher.
mm i cant see mod thermalpedia ;p
hrm.... fluxbore is nice, but done that so many times already.
That's insane, you'll be 5 hours into thermal before you come close to that!
Nah efficiency is how many swings it takes to break a block. Speed is how fast you swing. 2 separate things. Keep up the great work!
what happened to thaumcraft?
This guy still says smooth stone for normal stone when smooth stone is a real thing
13:00 - dire you are doing wrong, you are powering the sugar cane not the sand
Fluxbores are Flux-Boring. Hopefully Tetra gets area mining tools soon!
I made an op pick usIng tetra, it’s a fun mod.
What materials did you use?
Create is in the pack!
Was it just me that noticed the AE asteroid in the ocean
I don't get it. You just got a fancy pickaxe and now you are instantly upgrading to a drill. What's the point?
Too show people how the mods work...

You have a nice voice!
The way you say integral is cute dire
Once I get the Fluxbore I use it for literally everything but farming and killing.
he forgot gold armor
At the end I know you were technically complimenting Fluxbore creator but my ears really heard that emphasis on TOO EASY and that did not sound like a compliment.
The lever has to be on the snad
They have removed the best feature of snad making a cactus farm was so easy
