I hugely thank you for these tutorials, they are really inspiring and nice to watch. Sometimes I get desperate watching Blender Guru or CG Geek because their tutorials lack any sense of precision some makers really need, to the point I though Blender isn't suitable for CAD or 3D printing tasks, you proved me wrong. Keep going like this.

      Hi Haissake,
Thank you, I'm so glad you are enjoying the series.
Don't you worry my plan is to just build upon this foundation course to get into some really nitty gritty precision modeling in blender. I'm sure i'll be learning a lot as time goes on so i'll be sure to update video and keep everyone in the loop of things that i'm finding super useful in my precision workflow.

coming from free cad, you have no real build structure (sketch) to modify thing easily as the vertex in blender are independent ? Am I wrong I was interested in Blender But I see only complication instead of simplification of my creative process?

Thank You so much, Really need your precision drawing and organizing tutorials. They are clear and smooth as butter.
I'm a SketchUp Pro user who is looking for a good alternative and there you have it.
I learned already so much in a short time, THANKS.

Why when I duplicate does it not make a new object? I searched and found that I can press p after to manually make it do that, but it doesn't on it's own.. and I can't seem to just select both like you did to duplicate again

Thank you so much for these videos. I had some basic skills in Blender but could not figure how to use it as a CAD. Your videos are so inspiring and helpful.

The best tutorials about blender so far!. Thank you.
I don't understand though what for are material slots and then list of materials to choose from below. Wouldn't be a list of materials when you can add new ones enough?

I'm so glad it was useful Agnieszka,
As for the materials, ya they can be a little confusing. The way I can explain it that a material is an attribute that you can set to many different objects. It does not necessarily have to change the look of the object. Materials in blender are used in a way to apply attributes to object. Thus you can have many materials that do different things. and by applying the same material to one object you change different attributes in many objects but just editing one material. I hope that makes a little more sense. I know it can be quite confusing and i'm still trying to fully understand it myself

Great tutorials. Making a face with an arc for an edge looks like a massive pain in the butt.

Thank you. I'm a little confused what the question / point. I'm happy to talk through if you want but I find discord to be better for that.

Hey Jonathan, thanks for all the time you spend making this videos, I really appreciate. I tried to use FreeCAD and Solidworks but my favorite is Blender and thank to you I found the way to doing precision modeling. I hope one day have the enough amount of money to collaborate with your growing in TH-cam.

Hi tutor, thank you for making all the tutorial videos. I really like the process where you explain what I want to achieve, what is the process, and how to do it. Really easy to understand.

Great tutorials! Shouldn't you have a Vert as the starting point rather than a Cube if you started at Part 1?

    • @Keep-Making
      @Keep-Making  3 ปีที่แล้ว

That would be true, But I needed a few more bits to make the point of organization.

Hi Iuilan, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I thought jumping into origins might be a little to much for where this course is at at the movement.
However the first mention of them is coming up in the next video and then in the video after that i'll be cover it in a lot more details =)

th-cam.com/video/SDESf0ZFzw4/w-d-xo.html i now is in italian but is simple tutorial for moving origin with the cursor + a simple addon for moving pivot point . just activate the subtitles.
