Peg you are the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!! I need to watch this when I’m not doing something else and I’ve been waiting for this updated video since there are so many that have come out in recent year. I REALLY feel Dr. Pen should give you an affiliate code for all the research and information you provide for educational purposes. YOU are truly their most valuable asset! Thank you again. Do you think that micro-needling will help my large pores, and crepey skin? I notice my foundation is not staying on as well as it used to and I’m wondering if micro-needling would be something that might HELP that. Would love your take on it. Thank you again for all you do!!
Hi Penn, with the M8 & fine needling you mentioned there is less trauma to your skin. With less trauma will it take longer to see results with collagen production for fine lines/wrinkles.
Thankyou SO much for this!! Just a nice, quick, very informative, TO THE POINT video from a Professional who didn't go on & on about their whole life story... REFRESHING.. & after watching this- I know which pen I'm going to purchase now!
Penny, I think I've watched all your micro needling videos, but I don't think you covered the purpose of RPM. ie. when is it appropriate to use slower vs faster? Is it related to the length of setting? Or, how fast you move across the face? Thank so much!!
You're welcome! I've updated the post. Penn talked about it - but we all know, she's so full of knowledge it's hard to keep up with all her good work 🥰
It's about control and confidence with your tool on which area and what depth. Slower setting & slower movements accordingly for more delicate areas and when you go deeper. You can watch Penns answer on her video: FRIDAY Q&A microneedling cartridge type explained speed setting to use, at 7:59 min into the video. Hope this helps 🌸🤗
Wow thank you for such an in-depth review and comparison. I think I’ll go with the a7. I like the simple mechanics and the corded option. (I think you get more machine for less $ with a corded option vs battery. At least that’s my experience buying power tools with my husband 😂) I just need to make sure the cartridges are avail like you said Penn!
Hi Penn. I remember when you first opened your channel. You have so many subscribers now. You did so well. But of course, your content is always so good.
Pam Fisher thank you Pam! This cat is usually MUCH fluffier but my kids feed her from the breakfast table and she wound up with clumps of syrup in her fur and had to get a major haircut....lol
Penny, thank you so much for this amazing video. The skincare knowledge you share with others here on your channel is extraordinary and I appreciate the time you take to share it with us - also, I really appreciate how you always, always, always put safety first. 🙏🏼
Hi Penny. Thanks so much for your video! It was great, but I still don't know which machine to buy. I'm a 52 year old woman who wants it for collagen production, anti-aging, fine lines and pore minimization. I can't decide between the A6S, the Hydra and the M8.
I have watched this about 32 times, and I THINK I’ve finally decided, like Sumer. Too many choices for someone who can’t decide if I want my burger with or without cheese! Thank you so much for this. Denise
Wowee!🤯 This video is the most comprehensive video that I have seen on Doctor Pens💜💜💜💜. Your advice is concise, thorough and disciplined. I appreciate the fact that you are a licensed🥼 Practitioner, and it shines through in your presentation. Well done! I look forward to integrating your teachings. PS, I have two✌️A1 Dr.Pens, cartridges and a pantry of authentic K Beauty just waiting to be needled into the surface of my skin and, I've yet to use them. WHY🤔? 🤗 So glad you asked; allow me to explain. 🤓I have watched countless videos on micro-needling from a variety of content creators. However, I've yet to find a video that explains best practices on how each cartridge should be utilized. For example, what are the Benefits of a nano cartridge? How is it used, and on what part of the body is it used? Thank you for sharing your insight and enthusiasm.
Ok, I'm taking the plunge and ordering the A7 today. I have been watching microneedling videos for a couple weeks and thanks to you, now have the confidence to order one!
Hi there, also attracted to A7, have u seen improvement and are u satisfied with your choice? Thanks in advance. (So torn between a6s and a7 and m8 rn)
Penny is correct about the difficulty of finding refills and such for Devices that are New or Devices that have a newer model. It is 2023. I purchased the Hydra H3 Pen which follows Penny's. Device was bought on Amazon...but there are no cartridge refills for H3 on Amazon. For a moment, I thought I would have to return it. But, then... I found one company in the USA that sells refills. The rest are in UK and South Korea. If anyone sees this post and wants contact info for such a company...let me know? The H3 is a different version with more goodies of course. It has a dial to move around from .25 up to 1.0...without swapping out the cartridge. No wasting of cartridges when moving between different needle lengths. Nano HR is for wrinkles and Nano HS is for eyes. A third cartridge set is for ACNE, called H12.
Wow! Loved the presentation! I am in the market for pens so i can wait with cartridge availability. I think i want to go with the A6S and the hydra pen . I want to use the Hydra for cosmetic needling only like you syggested! Ty for helping me make my decision😊
Wonderful video as always! Thank you so much 😊. Can you recommend a fine gauge derma stamp ? I’m really more comfortable with a stamp because I feel I can control it better. I’d like a .25mm stamp and a .5mm stamp . But nobody ever lists the gauge of their needles. Dr Pen has an adjustable stamp with a .25mm diameter. Which is between 31 and 32 gauge . But I’d love a 34 gauge stamp . Thank you for your awesomeness 😎
So fantastic! Thanks so much for doing the A6S review that I and I’m sure many others requested.😊 So after all of this which one of the current Dr. Pens in this review is your favorite all around for CIT?
Ladies, I am SO grateful for all of you who discuss the decision paralysis. I want a pen that works for wrinkles and - I guess with different cartridges - on stretch marks, though I wonder if derma rolling would be better for that. I would appreciate any insight any of you has. Also, can I use copper peptides with this?
Thank you so much for your channel and videos. May I ask did you say that the A6S is good for scarring or do you know anything that is good for after surgery scarring? thank you so much xx
Thanks for this video and all of your highly informative content. What do you think of the Ora Microneedling Pen? It’s so much cheaper! I bought it from Beautylish but have yet to use it. Is it worth keeping??
I love my A6 pen and have been needling my décolleté for awhile (definitely seeing improvement!) and recently have become bold enough to do my face a couple of times. Question about after care please. As far as the kiwi seed oil goes, I purchased the brand you recommended but I’m not really sure what its main function is. I have heard several dermatologists say that a topical vitamin C doesn’t actually penetrate our skin unless we are deficient nutritionally. Wondering your thoughts on this? Also I recently purchased a Lightstim device (saving up for the Celluma Pro unless something better comes out) and am soooo excited to try this after microneedling. I will probably rinse off the hmw hyaluronic acid in the shower and dry completely before using this. And I’m assuming I should avoid actually touching my skin in any way with this device? At least for 24 hours? I was thinking about wearing my latex gloves and using my finger as a guide to separate the led from my skin. 😆 Not ideal but I didn’t want a mask. Thanks for all the great information you provide for at home care. I LOVE your channel. ❤️
Nancy Braun days 1-5 red, tight, dry, itchy, flaking skin is normal. Then that all slightly subsided and by day 10 the skin is glowy from a gentle resurfacing 💜
Great vid. Just concerned that for scarring, will I not see as good results with 34-gauge needles are opposed to 31 or 32 ones? Because it's nice that the needles are finer so I won't look as beat afterwards.
Hi, thank u for this video. I'm planning to buy a6s based on ur recommendations. I have acne scars/texture that I'm trying to get rid of. What regimen would you recommend for that. Thank you 😊
Great video! I have a question about serum application with the Dermapen. At what needle depth should we apply active serums like Vitamin C or stem cell serums? And at what depth is it best to apply just hyaluronic acid for hydration?
Once you get to .5mm you are in to the dermis, this is when it should only be hyaluronic acid. So .3mm, .25mm, .2mm are all cosmetic, only in the epidermis. At those shallow depths I get more creative with my serums 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCAREThank you for your reply and for creating such a helpful channel! I also wanted to ask if it’s safe to use a 1.00 mm depth at home, especially considering I have some scars. If so, what type of serums would you recommend at that depth?
Thank you so much for all the information you provide in your channel. I absolutely love it! I’ve watched your needling video a few times and I think I’m leaning towards the A6S. I’m interested in doing needling for collagen, pores and fine lines. Would you say the A6S would be a good choice? I’m 52 and have only briefly done the needling using a roller but I feel this would be a better option! Thanks 😊
Great video Penny, what are the serums you recommend to put in the hydro pen? I’m thinking about getting it to cosmetic needle instead of using the roller I have. Do the cartridges need to be switched out every time or can I use them more? Thanks hugs 💜💜

Hi Penn, I recently bought the M8 and used it at .5 depth for the first time a week ago. I felt virtually nothing while needling and didn’t get any redness at all. Zero. At one point I was actually wondering if it was working! I’m thinking maybe I set the speed too low, but I did the three passes. Starting to wish I’d gotten the A6S... not sure ... any advice for my next try with the M8? Thank you 🙂
Hi Penny. Thank you so much for these videos. I am 60 and trying to decide between the A6S and M8. It appears that the only difference is in the 17,000 with the A6S vs 16,000 rpms with the M8. Both have the same needles, correct? Which feels better in your hands? I really appreciate the information!
New to watching your videos, love them because they are so informative and you get straight to the point. Can you give me advice on which microdermabrasion device is a good one to use at home, still giving professional results? I have been wanting to purchase one for the longest time. Your advice will be much appreciated.😘
Hi Thank you for the amazing video ,I was really confused which one to buy and now I have decided on it Could you please tell me which gauge needles and no.of pins is effective for hair fall and growth ???
Thank you for the video. I have watch all your videos and find them very helpful. I plan to purchase and micro needle at home. I'm learning about from you and look forward to more knowledgeable videos from you.
Hi!! First, let me say I’m become obsessed with your videos...if I lived in Washington..you’d be my esthetician for sure!!!!! Good job!!! Ok, here’s my question! I just received my first Dr. Pen Ultima A6.... but after putting it all together and turning on....2things...1. Am I supposed to be able to see the needles going up and down? Mine seem to be vibrating but not going up and down....and I can’t seem to find any good answer to this....some say it’s going so fast the naked eye can’t see it going up and down, others say no it’s only supposed to vibrate. And 2. Are the needles supposed to stick out past the blue end of the cartridge? The higher I put the gage up....say from .5 to 1.0...the needles are out past the blue...which to me is just dragging needles across face with the h.a. product I’m using. So just want to make sure this pen is working right and not defective due to these 2 questions. An answer would be much appreciated...I’m afraid to start using as I think if it’s defective it will cause more damage than good!! And if i need to return, i want to do ASAP and get it replaced. Thank you so much!!!!
I purchased the A7 since I don't mind the cord and I really like the consistent power. It is still in the box as I had to wait until the HA serum arrived. Now that it has, (deep breath), I have to give it a go. I know not to microneedle over any breakouts but I am curious about any other skin conditions that should not be needled such as psoriasis or eczema. Also if people microneedle to promote hair growth what about women who have to contend with facial hair?
I went to the Amazon link for the A7 and the site said it was out of stock and unknown if/or when it would be restocked. Did you get yours at Amazon, it not would you mind saying where? Thanks so much! p
@@Blessedpb I did get mine on Amazon, but I also got the "out of stock" notice for the link provided in the video. When I just looked for it on Amazon without going through the link I found it with no problem. Hope this helps :)
Oh, thank you, Jan! Yes, that helps considerably. I dunno, perhaps if I could not figure that out - electric, pulsating needles may not be that safe in my hands. :^D Thanks again for the heads up! Blessings, p
@@jansmith3613 Thank you very much for the reassurance. I've been using the hand rollers since Jan. 2020 - I originally bought them over 2 years ago and just never got around to it - well, more like couldn't get up the nerve. :^) When I did - there was nothing to it. Therefore, I have just decided to go "high tech". Penn.Smith and I also listen to Beauty by Anne, have been so helpful in my quest and now you too! Thank you again! Be full of blessing ...and collagen! :^D p
Hi penny, Love your channel! I have been using a derma roller for the last year. I feel I have seen great results but would like to transition to a pen. If u have time, could u maybe do an updated video explaining that transition. I have watched all the videos about this subject but I’m still a little confused of the speed u would choose and the products. As I derma roll dry and then go to bed. Morning start with the skin care. Also your skin looks beautiful!
love you, you get straight to the business !!! and i like that!! great you help me choose my pen !! i am a first time user! thank you!!! please give me a list of good products to use with it as well. Happy Holidays!!
Hi Penn! I really enjoy watching your channel and have started a whole new anti-aging skincare regimen based on your product reviews - I'm 41 so it's time! My question is, I just had a mole removed from my neck by a plastic surgeon two weeks ago. I've heard that massage is great for minimizing the scar after a procedure, but I'm lost as to what products to use on the scar if any. I know that sunscreen will be key, but do you have a product you would recommend I use? Thank you! Xo
She obviously would have the best answer, lol.. but I used Vitamin E after surgery & that really helped mine. I actually bought Vitamin E capsules & pricked them, lol.. that was years ago, so I would think you could get that strength in a oil form now. My daughter also used Vit E after both of her csections & you cannot even see any type of scar on her stomach. She started to use it as soon as her obgyn said she could, & she used it almost a year afterwards even though you couldn't even see a scar by then. 💙
I was literally just over-analyzing the other day about which would be best / comparing the differences, so thanks for all of this information! If my #1 concern is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, would you still suggest the A6S as the best option? (I definitely want cordless so was considering A6S and M8)
Thank you for your professional video. Very comprehensive. I am looking to buy a Pen but I want it for hair loss at my temples. What do you suggest? Also what is a nano?
I'm typing this while watching, so please ignore if you're going to say later but I'm hoping to catch your attention before this video ages: would you say the A6S is the best one to date?
Sumer Tatum-Clem yes I would. The versatility of this pen (corded or wireless) along with all components being digital and cartridges available in multiple forms makes it a wonderful all round pen!
GREAT video as usual!!! You always provide so much information and that’s a good thing! I’ve narrowed my decision down to two: either the A6 or the Dr. Pen M8. Can you give me your thoughts? I think either one would be good.
Hi Penny. I love ur videos. I want to microneedle for acne scars. Would you recommend the A7 for the power of the corded motor, or the X5, which has a 31gauge needle which you said was better for scars? Thank you.
Will you be needling for anything else? Possibly general cosmetic needling also? If so I’d say the A7 because it is versatile and the cord means it has the most consistent power. If you are ONLY working on scars then the X5 is good because of that 31 gauge needle cartridge.
Hello Penny! Thank you so much for all of this information but i was wondering if you would still choose Dr. Pen over skin pen? I understand that you need a medical license in order to use skin pen but i was wondering what’s your opinion
Hi Penny , great video ! I 've tried dermaroller (0.5) and i had broken capillaries after the treatment so i'm a little bit afraid but in the same time very tempted by buying a derma pen so i would like your advice please ? Thank you very much
Love your videos - they are super helpful to me as a newcomer to anti-aging. Is there any way you can update us about the availability of the A6S? Amazon says it is currently not available so I assume they are sold out. Also, I thought I might buy the Hydra Pen for now, but I cannot find any .25mm needles on Amazon, there is only 1 listing for the .50mm needle. My plan is to buy the A6S when available but buy the Hydra Pen for now and later it will serve well for cosmetic needling, except that requires the .25 mm cartridge. Any help is much appreciated, thx!

You can watch Penns answer on her video: FRIDAY Q&A microneedling cartridge type explained speed setting to use, at 7:59 min into the video. Hope this helps 🌸🤗
@@Fiache87 What length is considered “deeper”?
Wow thank you for such an in-depth review and comparison. I think I’ll go with the a7. I like the simple mechanics and the corded option. (I think you get more machine for less $ with a corded option vs battery. At least that’s my experience buying power tools with my husband 😂) I just need to make sure the cartridges are avail like you said Penn!
Hi Penn. I remember when you first opened your channel. You have so many subscribers now. You did so well. But of course, your content is always so good.
Your cat is so pretty, Penny!!! And so is the white cat!!
Pam Fisher thank you Pam! This cat is usually MUCH fluffier but my kids feed her from the breakfast table and she wound up with clumps of syrup in her fur and had to get a major haircut....lol
Thank you for this video so A6s is the best one to begin with ?
I think the A6 is a great start.
Penny, thank you so much for this amazing video. The skincare knowledge you share with others here on your channel is extraordinary and I appreciate the time you take to share it with us - also, I really appreciate how you always, always, always put safety first. 🙏🏼
Thank You, Penn.Smith.Skincare 💐 for creating & sharing this helpful video
Hi Penny. Thanks so much for your video! It was great, but I still don't know which machine to buy. I'm a 52 year old woman who wants it for collagen production, anti-aging, fine lines and pore minimization. I can't decide between the A6S, the Hydra and the M8.
Just bought the M8 & so excited to try it out. Thank you for all the great info!
How did it turn out for you with the M8?
Same q, have u seen improvement? Happy with ur choice? Thanks in advance(torn between choices)
I have watched this about 32 times, and I THINK I’ve finally decided, like Sumer. Too many choices for someone who can’t decide if I want my burger with or without cheese!
Thank you so much for this. Denise
Just watched your incredible video on lip lines, and now I am in the market for a microneedling
pen or device. Thank you again!!!
Glad it was helpful!
PS,
I have two✌️A1 Dr.Pens, cartridges and a pantry of authentic K Beauty just waiting to be needled into the surface of my skin and, I've yet to use them.
Hi thanks for this info. Could you tell me the name of the company please?
Wow! Loved the presentation! I am in the market for pens so i can wait with cartridge availability. I think i want to go with the A6S and the hydra pen . I want to use the Hydra for cosmetic needling only like you syggested! Ty for helping me make my decision😊
This will be a great reference video for people trying to pick the right pen for them. Love it!
Thank you! That was my intention 💜
Thank you Penn - your skin is just glowing have a beautiful blessed day-
Julie
Your skin looks so fresh on this video!!!
Brilliant video. I have questions. Which of the pens are best for no backflow for professional use? How do you sterilise the pen itself after use?
Super information!! Thanks Penn. Have a blessed week.
Thanks for this video and all of your highly informative content. What do you think of the Ora Microneedling Pen? It’s so much cheaper! I bought it from Beautylish but have yet to use it. Is it worth keeping??
Another superb video👏 Thank you for all your great info and WOW, your skin is looking fab!!!!!!!
Hi Penny! LOVE your channel! Will you tell me what I can expect after needling (peeling, flaking, etc)?
Nancy Braun days 1-5 red, tight, dry, itchy, flaking skin is normal. Then that all slightly subsided and by day 10 the skin is glowy from a gentle resurfacing 💜
Fantastic video, so helpful, informative and straight to the point - thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Holy moly you are amazing! So informative!
Wow, thank you!
Thanks 😊
Just got the M8 Penn. I’m excited to get started 😁😁😁
I love my A 6 Pen but would love to try that Hydra pen. Thanks Again For Another Great Video!
Thank you Theresa! 💜
Great video Penny, what are the serums you recommend to put in the hydro pen? I’m thinking about getting it to cosmetic needle instead of using the roller I have. Do the cartridges need to be switched out every time or can I use them more? Thanks hugs 💜💜
This was a great video, so glad to know I bought the right pen for my needs. I got the A6S
Was wondering if it s painful? I m trying to decide between purchasing the A6S and M8S? What would you suggest? Xx

Thank you 🙂
Try 1mm
Very informative. Thank you. What rpm do you reccommend?
9,000 minimum is adequate for medical needling 😊
Hi Penny. Thank you so much for these videos. I am 60 and trying to decide between the A6S and M8. It appears that the only difference is in the 17,000 with the A6S vs 16,000 rpms with the M8. Both have the same needles, correct? Which feels better in your hands? I really appreciate the information!
Thanks I was trying to figure out the difference between the A6S and M8 and it appears its only the rpm!

Yay new video!! I sooo look forward to watching ur content!! I love love ur channel❤️
Hi Penny, what brand of serums would you recommend for the Hydrapen? Thank you.
Thank you for amazing videos. I am thinking of buying a Dr pen, bit not sure which one. Which one would you recommend best for pigmentation?
My favorite pen is the A7 with the 12 pin cartridge-it’s 34 gauge (thin).
A great pen :)
I'm contemplating on purchasing the hydrapen or the Dr.pen M8 which one would you recommend?
Great video! What do you think about Dr. Pen Bio Pen Q2?
I purchased the A7 since I don't mind the cord and I really like the consistent power. It is still in the box as I had to wait until the HA serum arrived. Now that it has, (deep breath), I have to give it a go. I know not to microneedle over any breakouts but I am curious about any other skin conditions that should not be needled such as psoriasis or eczema. Also if people microneedle to promote hair growth what about women who have to contend with facial hair?
I went to the Amazon link for the A7 and the site said it was out of stock and unknown if/or when it would be restocked. Did you get yours at Amazon, it not
would you mind saying where? Thanks so much! p
@@Blessedpb I did get mine on Amazon, but I also got the "out of stock" notice for the link provided in the video. When I just looked for it on Amazon without going through the link I found it with no problem. Hope this helps :)
Oh, thank you, Jan! Yes, that helps considerably. I dunno, perhaps if I could not figure that out - electric, pulsating needles may not be that safe in my hands. :^D Thanks again for the heads up! Blessings, p
@@Blessedpb If I can do it then anyone can! I found mine very easy to use.
@@jansmith3613 Thank you very much for the reassurance. I've been using the hand rollers since Jan. 2020 - I originally bought them over 2 years ago and just never got around to it - well, more like couldn't get up the nerve. :^) When I did - there was nothing to it.
I've never microneedled. Is the 8 a good starter choice?

Your face looks freaking Amazing Miss Penny!!!!!
Could you recommend the most effective pen? & also that cartridges aren’t hard to find, affordable, etc. also best for HYPERPIGMENTATION
Stephanie Callaway Thank you so much! This is so helpful! Xo

wrinkles. Love you videos!
Thank you! Very informative, which one do you recommend for acne scars?
I think the best pen for acne scars is the X5-it has cartridges that are 31 gauge.
That said-the A7 is great too-a workhorse in my opinion 😊
❤️❤️
I'm typing this while watching, so please ignore if you're going to say later but I'm hoping to catch your attention before this video ages: would you say the A6S is the best one to date?
Sumer Tatum-Clem yes I would. The versatility of this pen (corded or wireless) along with all components being digital and cartridges available in multiple forms makes it a wonderful all round pen!
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time (and patience) for me!! :-)

@@Natalieloves_LV where did you get your A6S pen? I can't find it online anywhere. Thanks in advance!!!
Which Pen do you think would be best to help with Acne scarring? Thanks, great video!
X5 😊
31 gauge needles (which the X5 has in its 12 pin cartridge) are stronger for the work that has to be done with acne scarring. 💜

Hi penny ,Thank you for the reviews I am interested in the hydrapen can you recommend anti aging and hydrating serums for the hydrapen? Thank you!
