    Love that metal flake and acrylic insert, that said that metal flake doesn't like the sun. In my experience one summer in the sun and it'll be almost clear flake vinyl haha

      Oh really? What brand did you use? I use Naugahyde and it seems okay in the sun. I did my Vespa seat 5 years ago and it still looks great.

    Lee, I'm an old forklift mechanic. Please put some chain oil on the lift chains and some grease on the uprights. If you don't have any chain lube, drain oil works great. Dirty oil is better than no oil. Really enjoy your videos. Have you done a Model A roof insert or welded metal roof video?

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gary, this video was when I first bought the forklift. I’ve lubed everything up since.
      Sorry, but I have not done a metal filled roof on a Model A.

    You make out of wood then you mix up fiberglass resin and micro fibers and mix it to a peanut butter paste put on joint of plywood and clamp together , then do the same to your bows screw in place and you will have a rock hard roof with a water proof joint and you can remove screws from bows also it will never come apart

    Lee looks real cool BUT here goes lol what happens when it rains and god forgive,,he finds bird crap on it I did a very small piece for a vw speedo 16 years old and it did skratch up Iam old fart now at 72 but still going got my first flatty in a 34 ford sedan lol and did get it to run and now the small stuff starts
    Thanks for the info. on what you do lots of fun to watch Hope Shannin back up to speed

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, if it rains I guess it’ll get wet, and if a bird poops on it, I guess it’ll have poop on it haha.
      I’m curious to see how it holds up. But even if it needs to be replaced every few years, it’s not a huge deal. Just trace it on a new sheet of acrylic cut it out and screw it down.

    Very nice job Lee, you just added the icing on the cake. Just thinking out loud, would it be a good idea to seal it in case he is caught in the rain?

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It never rains in Victoria. Hahaha
      It’s a fair weather car, and also has absolutely no windows (except the windshield) so either way, it’s gonna get wet inside. And there is also basically no interior except a bit of carpet on the transmission tunnel, so nothing can get ruined if it gets wet.

  • @rodneymoore2154
    @rodneymoore2154 ปีที่แล้ว

    To go through that use a nail and heat it up and melt the holes innex time

  • @donsmith4465
    @donsmith4465 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Lee, really enjoyed this. Will there be an issue with rain or washing the roof as far as leaks go? Is there a plan to seal it somehow? Also wondering if it will rattle a bit without a weatherstripping cushion between the acrylic and the metal supports. Really a cool looking roof.

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Leaks? The car has no windows! Haha
      This car has been driving around for a few years with absolutely no roof insert at all, so even if it has a few leaks, it’s still 95% better than it was. It’s just a fair weather car anyways, and parked in Mikes garage.

    • @gvet47
      @gvet47 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree on some kind of sealing of the acrylic as for one the flex in the panel and metal body will cause stress cracks at all the fasteners holding it in place. And adding fixed side windows would help as well. But maybe a little warm with no airflow.

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      It took 25 hours. Counter sunk screws might have been better, but it doesn’t really matter once you foam it. They completely disappeared in the foam.

    A better bow would be made out of hard wood like oak. The hard wood will finish better with very little wood filler. Plywood has too many air gaps from the “Ply” wood glueing process.

    • @LGKustoms
