    For anyone watching that has got rejected just keep trying. I have been applying for 5 years. I had one interview the first year, decline, one interview same school rejected. Another school waitlisted. This year I had one more interview at the school I was rejected before.. still rejected.. another interview at a new school they hasn’t given me an answer yet because they are still doing interviews, and one school that I had an interview , got in the alternate list (like waitlist but a pool rather than numbers) and just got accepted to the last one 3 days ago. Classes start next month. So that’s fun.. but I’m so happy and keep sticking to it. If you do and add more stuff like pce to your caspa it will help. It even extra classes. I took an orgo 2 class last semester.

      Ser X I graduate in August :) this year has been crazy. We missed out on two rotations because of covid, my dad passed away from lung cancer last month, we are just trying to figure out how to be able to graduate. I start my GI rotation tomorrow and then I have peds left. I plan on taking my PANCE mid September and start working October or November. We will see how it works out as I know it is currently harder to find a job right now but I think things are getting back to normal. Thanks for asking! I will be a PA soon!
      Also I made a PA and fitness Instagram @lisafellispa. I Havnt posted a lot recently because of everything I’m going through but I am going to try to. :)

      @@MHSMagicLuver I'm so sorry for your loss, but congratulations, you're going to crush the PANCE!!! Update us if you remember to haha! I love seeing old comments of people just beginning things and years later seeing how successful they are on the other side.
      I'll check out your page - Do you think it's all been worth it, these years later? I'm entering my junior year of university as an engineering student, but my passion lies in healthcare and I'm at a bit of a crossroads and filled with anxiety as to if I don't get into anything. Posts like these mean a lot to many more students than just me!

  • @EstefaniaHZ
    @EstefaniaHZ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello! I recently have become interested in the PA track and will be looking into Texas specific schools. I have been contemplating 1) if I can even do it (in a social sciences graduate; Anthropology) and 2) what path is the most feasible (CNA route, technical program such as medical assistant, pharmacy tech, phlebotomy, or the EMT route).
    I want this dream but I slowly push away from it then return. Push and pull. I’m totally emailing you! I hope you respond. 💕 I’m digging for guidance; my small town has a shortage on medical staff, so imagine my luck trying to find a mentor.

  • @johnguillen68

    I was rejected by 20 schools last year and this year I'm being a bit more careful because that was a lot of money I spent on application fees. This year I'm hoping but it looks bad again. I think I applied to 10 schools but hoping for these last 2 for something. This would be my 2nd year applying. I know that I don't meet the GPA requirements but I have all the experience and my PS is good and also my LOR. So what if I have a lot of "C"s it doesn't mean I can't handle the PA curriculum. I do have my BS in Biology.
    I don't know what to do during the wait. I can't afford more classes for Post bachelorette classes. So there's no way of my improving my GPA.

    Hi, your video really motivated me:)) and my questions are that what kinds of volunteer did you do? And if I volunteer in the hospital, helping the Patients when they need, would that be considered patient care hours. And since I volunteer in the hospital, would that be considered health care hours? Is it okay to have more PCH than HCH in order to apply to PA school?

    • @EstefanyVPA
      @EstefanyVPA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I volunteered doing a lot of things! Volunteering doesnt have to be medical, I volunteered in a free dental clinic, for habitat for humanity and other dental events. Since it as pre-dental before switching over to premed. So patient care experience hours requires you to have hands on experience, where you are touching a patient, working on them. That would be more towards health care experience hours. And yes, actually most schools require more PCE than HCE.

    • @percyho5297
      @percyho5297 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Estefany V thanks for replying me so quickly. By the way, do you have any advises to get letters of recommendation? I mean how to ask doctors or other PAs write that you. Since i am volunteering in the hospital rn, and having good relationships with some doctors and PAs. However I kinda hesitate to ask them about that. So do you think I should be honest and just come straight to ask them?

    • @EstefanyVPA
      @EstefanyVPA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Percy! So I am a SUPER shy person when it comes down asking for things. SO i totally understand you being nervous to ask them. But I would just approach them and tell them how interested you are in the PA career and how you want to become a PA, and ask if they could write you a LOR so that you can accomplish that goal. Thats what I did and I got great LORs!

    Hi Estefany! What do you mean research projects? Where were you doing these and what was your contribution?

    • @EstefanyVPA
      @EstefanyVPA  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Birch hello! And any type of research you can get involved in. You gain very valuable skills like critical thinking skills among others. I did research at my university, one of my professors who taught me parasitology did research with mosquitoes. Not a fan of mosquitoes, but I approached her and she allowed me to do research with her for the next two years. I was able to work with my community, Gained a lot of skills, did several research projects with my professor with mosquitoes.. big especially during the Zika scare in 2016. I also gained leadership skills and I put this all in my resume! Plus, I got an excellent letter for recommendation from the professor I did research with. She knew how I worked, led fellow students and other skills. This is why I recommend research :)

    What kind of volunteer hours do you do? I’m a high school senior so I’ve been getting all of my PA info from TH-cam and no one gives descriptions of everything in a way that people without prior knowledge would understand lol.

    • @EstefanyVPA
      @EstefanyVPA  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shay Adair you can volunteer anywhere! For example, volunteer at school, in a hospital ( whether it is supplying rooms in the hospital, greeting patients), or for anything! Just look for somewhere where you can get volunteer hours, something you’d like to volunteer in.
      I’ll try to make a video about this to talk more about this , but there’s not a specific type of volunteering you need.

    Estefany my question is if I have a CASPA application filled and get rejected the second time I apply will the previous application information still be there? Or do I have to re start from new, also after submitting for approval through caspa to be verified second round of re- applying I have to get it verified again? How long does this verification process take ? Please and thank you

    • @EstefanyVPA
      @EstefanyVPA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it will be there, I just had to make minor adjustments to my application. Although you have to input your recommendations of letter again and they have to resend the letters again to CASPA. Yes from what I remember you have to get verified again when you apply a second time. The verification time really depends, it took me about 2 weeks from what I remember.

      Your Patient to patient hours

    • @EstefanyVPA
      @EstefanyVPA  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hawa Kamara I worked forty hours a week, so after every week I would document the hours on an excel spreadsheet I created. Therefore, when I applied the following year, I had all my hours written down! I just simply input these in the patient care experience area on CASPA with a brief description of what my patient care experience hours consisted of doing!
