    I really appareciate this video. I watched it before my first interview and I'm rewatching it again before my second interview (and I did get the question "what fruit would be and why?" During my first interview 🍍)

    Wow this is great advice! Everyone at my interviews wore suits and wore minimal makeup and looked very professional! For interviews, I googled possible PA questions and practiced all of them in front of my boyfriend and it really prepared me. Do your research for each school that you are interviewing at and really understand them and have questions for them. I printed out hundreds of sheets of articles, useful information and etc while preparing. I ended up typing up the possible questions and answering the questions with bullet-points. I bought new shoes and wore a suit during my interview, made sure my makeup was modest but refreshing and straightened my hair and made sure that my bangs did not cover my face. Good luck everyone and I wish I saw this video before I interviewed...darn!

    Love this video! Quick question though: when telling why they should pick you over another program, how do you answer that without seeming "cocky"? The last thing I want to seem is arrogant but I know we have to play up our strengths. What would be a good way to do so?

    Thank you for this video Breelyn! Very informative and helpful. I am currently reading and highliting How to Ace the PA School Interview by PA-C Rodican. It's been helpful and eye opening but hearing it from you on video is a great supplement. One PA-C on a podcast recommended that if they ask, "Do you have any questions for us?" I should ask, "Why should I go to YOUR PA program?" Do you agree? Because like you said on another video, I am also interviewing them and trying to find a strong PA program that will make me into a well-rounded PA that will be confident in passing the PANCE.

      Hi! Yes asking especially if there is a student interviewing you "What has your experience been here? Why should I attend this program?" Yes like I said that turns the tables on them and makes them think "hmmmm okay we need to sale our school on her a little" it's a two way street. You are interviewing them as well.

    Thank you for doing these, Bree! Very helpful to me as I evaluate returning to school to become a PA. I'm wondering if you have advice for later in life applicants? I'm 45 years old, with a bachelor's degree in business administration. My career focus has been in healthcare marketing, and I took 11 years off to raise my babies. Thank you!

    If I'm applying to PA school this cycle, when do you usually get the invitation for an interview? around what month?

    • @HerestoHealthyWomen
      @HerestoHealthyWomen  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaron Rivera they offer interviews as close as a couple months before start date. Depends on how quickly seats are filled and start dates for the programs. Each school is different. Best of luck.

    Hello, My name is rana... And I'm really interested in becoming a PA, but I wanna get a BSN degree and then get some health care experience and apply to PA school. So I was wondering if nurses are strong candidates for PA school and if you had nurses in your PA program?
    Thank You, your videos are very helpful :)

    Hi, I am a high school senior and I would love to be a future PA in urology can you talk more about the specialty and what you do on the daily basics Ps. I love your channel

    • @HerestoHealthyWomen
      @HerestoHealthyWomen  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Destiny hi! Sure! As a full time urology PA I spent 4 days in the office and one day a week in the O.R. I saw about 13-18 patients a day. Typical chief complaints are frequent UTIs, kidney stones, leaking issues, cystocele evaluations, urgency, frequent urination, interstitial cystitis, testicular pain, testicular masses, vasectomies, testosterone procedures, cystoscopies, TUMT, CMGs and catheter placement and exchange including Supra public placement. Hopefully that helps!

    If the interviewers ask you where do you want to practice PA what do you say? lets say I live in Georgia but I'm at an interview at a school in NC. Would they not consider me if I say I want to practice in Georgia?

    • @HerestoHealthyWomen
      @HerestoHealthyWomen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question. It depends on the school and their mission really. For example I am a professor at a PA Program and part of our mission statement is to train PAs that want to stay in the area and practice. Some schools that's not important for them. So of course know the program where you are interviewing well. BUT with that being said when you are being interviewed give an honest answer- "Look I'm from Georgia. I don't know what the future holds for me I just know I want to be a PA because of x,y and z. I'd be open to the right job opportunity regardless of the state." That's just an example but speak your truth that's so important to be genuine. If it is really important for you to stay in Georgia than it would be ideal to do your rotations there because you get a job often times where you rotate.

      @@HerestoHealthyWomen Thank you so much. I'm now trying to get a good score on the GRE so that I can send those scores to schools. I didn't score well on the first attempt so I'm hoping to get a better score next exam. Once I finish that step I can practice interviews but that was one of my main concerns.
