I’ll be honest. It doesn’t sound very nice for a 3k exhaust. It sort of sounds like a busted muffler in the loudest mode. Maybe it’s as good as this new Honda engine is gonna get, unfortunately.
I think this sounds great. I just ordered the invidia R400 though. Not sure if I should cancel it and get this. Remus: I don't like how this exhaust looks by design (muffler and detachable tips). I also don't like the electronic control mechanism. In the videos I've seen, the REMUS exhaust sounds amazing. invidia R400: I don't like the titanium tips (though I heard they can be polished off). I love how it was designed. I haven't heard very many audio clips for it but the ones I did hear, I will say sounded good.
I just heard this exact exhaust system at a car meet tonight. Trust me, in person this setup sounds insane, also had intake, downpipe and ktuned as well! I was blown away when I found out the price.
Turbo 4 cylinder car sounds are an acquired taste. The average person does not like the sound of a turbo 4 cylinder, I have come to learn. I love the sound of all cars, regardless of motor. I prefer a car that has lots of turbo noise and crackles and pops lots :-) If i ever own a new Type R, which i'm sure i will, then i most likely will be doing a muffler delete. I would never pay 3 grand USD for an exhaust. That would be pretty much 4 Grand CDN. Ya fuck that LOL
Great design for a daily, but if you don't daily or want more sound, for less than half the cost there are better alternatives. It does sound good to be sure- but not sure if it sounds $3K good. Easy to live with, just not blowing me away. For $3K my FK8 should sound more like an LFA.
$3K is ridiculous, you know you could just put an electronic diverter valve like this www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/30830K/10002/-1 and get the same thing for a lot less money. Just put it inline before the whole muffler system pointing down and problem solved. Like you said four modes is just a gimmick, loud or quiet is all you need.
Not that exhaust but still excited, I picked up a 2017 Type R today with 2000 miles and it has the AWE Black Touring Exhaust and the Mishimoto intake already installed. Can't complain about 2 mods I would have had to do myself. The exhaust sounds phenomenal
I bought one of these modifed off a guy who couldnt keep up his car loan payments i had no idea the exhaust was this expensive i made a steal!! as bought the car very cheap saved just under 10k if you include the mods and ECU REMAP
Elias, if you think muffler deletes are droney you don’t need to get most of the aftermarket exhausts. I had an afe and it drones the worst of any exhaust I’ve ever heard. My friends muffler delete is about 1/10 as severe as the afe.
FlyinGato I agree. After I sold my afe I got a catless downpipe, which amazingly gives real power. Power you can actually feel. First bolt on that’s ever done that for me. Anyway, I have the catless downpipe and I’m about to do the delete. I’ve heard what these cars sound like with the downpipe and delete, and it’s amazing. Turbo whistle for days and a nice throaty tone without being loud.
Hi John and Elias, Regarding the Catless, forgive me, meaning it has no cataytic converter? Sorry just following along to learn from you all on what I would do as well, but I have to be careful living in CA with our epa rules. Can I even risk changing to a catless downpipe regardless of adding a different exhaust and delete? its bad enough we have to smog and can only use Air intakes that are CA exempt; limits our choices out here. Smooth driving, Gato- really smooth!! Light on the hands and feet- The exhaust sounds right depending on how you take-off and accelerate as well as driving experience.
It doesn't sound nice because again, a 4 cylinder turbo. Before butt hurt fans kick in, fa20 owner and I love the type r because it's a great performer; better than the sti. But we got to be honest, we have no noise really. But if we're talking about anti-lag, that's a different story lol.

Im not a fan of Remus exhausts in general. The sound is a bit too iffy to me, i always feel Remus exhaust sounds fit better for BMW's than Hondas. Wonder if you could find some1 that has the J's racing exhaust Gato, their exhaust sounds awesome!
FlyinGato sweet, that'd be awesome, all J's racing has released is a static light rev clip. But it sounds very deep, well balanced deep that is. I also know J's racing exhaust systems were among the best to gain extra performance on older Type R vehicles. Wonder if it will do the same for the FK8 (after a tune ofc)
D Lombana yes, but there is a titanium alloy one as well the titanium is 5k, the alloy is 2k, same exhaust, different material. The only difference is in the weight, for competitive racing application the titanium one would be the way to go, for normal use (lightly tuned) the alloy one is just fine. I hold J's racing in way higher regard than Remus when it comes to Japanese cars.
Remus sounds really nice. I’m getting my Scorpion exhaust soon for my fk8. I was looking at the milltek but same as the remus ill be able to open and close the exhaust flaps where as i won’t be able to do that with the milltek.
Is it me or does Honda turbo 4 sounds like crap even with aftermarket? There is no pop and bangs when you downshift or let go of the gas. Audi S3/Golf-R, Benz CLA-45 amg, and Focus RS they all have that nice sound. What gives? Is it the exhaust, tune, or exhaust?

it will never not be a turbo K-series, doesn't matter what combination of metal pipes you fit to the hot side of the thing.

Js racing will also easily surpass this price by a long shot. It’s either full Ti or partial...I believe 5 thousand for full Ti...
