Five years in and two years post op at 67. I am at peace with myself and I don’t have to lie anymore to anyone and myself. My favorite ex wife was confused at first and even went away for several years. We got back together and have been together for several years now. She realized that it was still me inside and thirty years with three kids was something she didn’t want to lose. We get along just fine and don’t worry about what people think. If people would just get past the ignorance they would see that we didn’t ask for this and after all those years of trying to self medicate we realize this was our only option. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner but better late than never.
I have been going through this for many years. I have crossed dressed and purged my woman clothes and repurchased new ones, and it has to be time to go through change. I've been wanting scenes a was young guy. I have so many bras and panties, and it feels so good to be in, I hope this doesn't sound weird. But I'm a year older than you are. Best wishes ❤️ Deanna
He wanted me to love the one who killed him . . . slowly in front of me. Our whole relationship of 35 years was a sham unbeknownst to me. I was left shattered while he "blossomed". The unforgivable part was that he let me think there was something wrong with me all those years. I wasn't pretty enough, I wasn't thin enough . . . I wasn't a ten. I was supposed to be his audience while he slathered on moisturizer and preened, instead I sipped whiskey on the back porch contemplating my liberation.

Not all relationships last forever and trans parents can also take care of their children the same way as before. Anyone who truly cares for their partner's well being and doesn't see them as someone they own will prefer to let them be themselves even if they can't be together anymore because of it. Being yourself isn't selfish, expecting someone to sacrifice themselves for you on the other hand is.

Bottom line, you be yourself and be happy, as long as you're an adult and not harming anyone else, you do you! Obviously you should go through extensive counselling and therapy though, before you take any medication or have surgery! It is permanent! And be over 18 of course. And 99% of men refuse to date a trans woman. But if you are happy then who cares? You do you.

"Reminds me what I am not" - wow, that really hit home. I had the same feelings, including the fact that my mind already thought it was there. My feelings on sex are very similar to Annah's as well. I'm so happy we live in a society that has these options to correct things available to us. It helps to give me hope for society... (Had my surgery 8/2019.)

I hate being male, i never changed, I learned to live with it. I remember at round 12/13 I became muscular the voice changed, adams apple, male bits grew, trauma trauma trauma. I used to tuck myself up, pluck facial hair out. I never grew that tall but stocky not sure what’s worse. The only way I coped with it was to wear my hair long, wear female body sprays and makeup. I won’t ever cut my hair short or do masculine things

The quest for *authenticity* rarely involves major cosmetic surgeries and powerful exogeneous hormones.
They are still biologically men no matter how many surgeries they had.
Annah’s wife seems like a beautiful person! Her inner beauty is reflected on the outside! We are all human. We should try to understand each other with a little more empathy. I’m sure the journey has been hard for them but people are pretty resilient.
Wonderful what they can do today to put people in the right life.But it seems like they can't do anything for there voice, they all still sound like men.

Not to mention all life saving surgeries went on hold due to covid and people died and still are because of the back log, yet these surgeries were able to continue. Pretty wild.
@@soniavos3127 not sure where you live, but all surgeries went on hold during covid where i am. I wasn't able to get life saving surgery either. But after covid I did get it completely free funded by the govt. And my mates that have gender related surgery pay about $30k+.

Seriously, if you make transitioning a "do or die" decision you are not ready to transition yet, any responsible therapist wouldn't authorize surgery. Post SRS is really just the beginning of the journey. Where the journey finally arrives at requires a vey strong sense of self because in the end you will loose most, if not all of the relationships you had. God bless.

I don’t want to legally stop adults from transitioning, but I am absolutely opposed to medical and surgical transition treatment for children and adolescents.

Seems to me Anna was a gay man who was overwhelmed with what is expected of a man. He felt he did not have it so he opted the easy way out.

Seems to me men are more overwhmed with responsibilities and expectations that they cannot meet. "Anna" could not feel good enough as a man, so he took the easiest way out. And the fact that he was a struggling musician who could not come up with $12,000, again, is quite revealing of him as a PERSON and the confidence issues he was experiencing. In the end, it seemed selfish altogether. He is another Bruce Jenner. A man who could not live up to manly things.
ALL is good, cool and glamorized for documentaries. The harsh realities are usually left out and softened by a com passionate narration that does not include anything that ruins the goal of the documentary.

I was born a girl and never doubted the way God knit me together in my mothers womb. I hope you tell your future spouse you had a sex change. This freaks me out for the next generation.
How much does all this coast in dollars? What are all the treatments for life ? What happens with aging ?
The price of SRS depends where you are. In Europe where healthcare is public it doesn’t cost anything. In the west it can cost up to $100k or $10k for a cheap place in Thailand. Some trans women get other surgeries, others don’t. Some don’t want SRS. Most take hormone replacement therapy for some part of their life. Aging works just like any other person. We all get old the same way. My wife is a Thai trans woman. If you have any questions, just ask.
All I want to add to the previous commenter is that hormone replacement therapy is slightly different for everyone, but the cheapest option is injections which can cost as little as a $100 a year, or less. Most could expect a few hundred per year. It's much cheaper than most people think.

@@ronaldhansen2378 Cost of living, labor, real estate, compliance costs, malpractice insurance, taxes, supply of SRS surgeons, other insurance, and public health systems. There are a multitude of the regular economic factors that impact price. My wife is a Thai trans woman. She had her SRS done in Phoenix, Arizona. She had her breasts done in Thailand. My insurance covered the SRS and would have covered breast too but breasts are much easier and she liked the work that this Thai surgeon does and is a lot more familiar with the aesthetics of the Thai body. Was worth it to pay full retail for those. He’s done a lot of the Miss Tiffany Universe girls (do a TH-cam search) and they turned out great. If you have any other questions, just ask.

Depression rates increase after it done, also if your in a same sex relationship it’s very likely a partner will leave the post op for a pre-op.

It was difficult to get SRS. (Even then, we don’t know the regret rate as nobody follows it up)
Those checks and balances aren’t being done anymore and unsuitable candidates are being accepted for irreversible surgery.
I’m not against SRS, (I don’t think it’d help me personally) but for some it probably is the right solution however if too many people get hurt and have regrets the option of SRS will likely be taken away.

@@augreybaker9800 i am not sure if i understand you correctly. but i am happy for her, because she wants to live as a woman, eventhough she was born a man. some transwomen and transmen are rather unhappy with their facial features, so they would need to get facial surgery to lower the psychological pain this causes them. so, in her case, already having rather feminin features, is a good thing, as it most likely will cause her to have less anxiety, and also save her some money.

Kids, you and I both know that gender-affirming surgeries aren't permitted on minors. The video is about a life-saving procedure. Uneducated and confused people don't understand the DSM-5, or gender dysphoria, and will never provide anything educational. All they care about is controlling people who aren't like them and for you to be as miserable as they are. The surgeries are life-saving and when performed by a reputable gender reassignment surgeon it's highly unlikely that you will be in pain for the rest of your life or require any more regular check-up visits than a cisgender person would. As the video says, you will have fully functioning genitals, capable of intercourse, and orgasm. In most cases, orgasms are more intense than before the surgery. I'm not encouraging anyone to get this surgery. What I'm saying is to make an educated decision with your therapist and medical professional whether this procedure is right for you as they are irreversible.
