    Awesome video…just wish I’d seen it last week. After getting 2 off-center pretty bad, I ended up putting one on the scanner, importing the scan and tracing it. Measuring would have been a lot easier. I also did a very light burn of the spoon shape into my MDF base before putting it on the tool layer so I’d be able to line up other spoons but I didn’t want to have to do that for all of the bamboo utensil shapes. I’ll be using your multi-pass trick for the rest of them.

    Hi! Great Work! But my concern is that, because the item is to be used on food. Will that be safe? Would burn be lighten due to washing and if it does, would you accidentally consume the particles that drops out from the burn?

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kaysee, As with all wood burns that I do, I mist them with water right after the burn and then let them air-dry naturally so the soot stains the wood. Then I wash them and seal them with food safe mineral oil. amzn.to/3juMXpT. After they dry, I wax them with 100% organic beeswax amzn.to/3E87Cbi. So yes, they are safe to use on food. Hope this helps answer your question!

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vertigo can do it automatically, but it just types the font sideways, you still have to rotate it. There are other free fonts for vertical positioning, in other words you don't have the problem with the width being different on letters like M, W, L, I etc.

    Hello Rich, first, thanks for the explanatory video. What does 'Offset Fill' mean, which does not appear on my LightBurn?
    PS.: Another thing: how is the name of this perforated bed (aluminum?) that you use in the laser machine? I live in Brazil and the name must be different.

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Offset fill goes around in a circle. So if you had a big circle or square and graphics in the middle, you would put the circle or square on another layer and set it to offset fill. Then the outer shape will keep the laser from scanning left to right wasting time.
      The bed is just sheet steel with punk spikes.
