This guy has a problem. He doesn't know when it's time to stop supporting Hasbro. It seems like he pretends to know how that awful company works. Maybe he shouldn't even talk about Hasbro so much after all that company has done to their franchises and employees. Hasbro is one of the worst entertainment companies ever.

Caught of the lgs owners by me buying out the local target of all Pokemon and mtg…..has 151 pokemon etbs at $75 when everyone sells them for $50. He has a distribution account and now goes and buys out the place parents and grandparents take the kids to get packs of cards…..that sad and predatory imo

Aside from the FOLKS! the reason I love these vids is the pro life tips and gems of mentorship Rudy drops. Usually they are towards the end of these vids and I feel they are genuinely offered as shared wisdom. I like the box openings as well esp compared to other channels. But I feel there is some real wisdom being offered if you listen when he does these kinds of vids.
I built up an amazing business during covid on the backs of a decade of Rudy videos. I will always give him30 minutes of my day on account of the knowledge he offered for free over many years

If something ends abruptly or whenever, at least many of us can be glad we were there at the start for the golden age of so many great frnachises, including mtg. It might not last another 30 years, or even another 20, but for the rest of the decade it will no doubt still be around. FINaly Fantasy and Duskmourn and Bloomburrow look promising ^

Dominaria Remastered was released January 13, 2023. This actually only strengthens Rudy’s point of when they locked in print runs.
Strengthen? How exactly does this strengthen when he claimed they locked in print runs during at the height of the 2021 boom? Clearly it was much later than that.

magic will prob make it but i will most likely just not want to be apart of it. even if they lower the print run i still cant deal with something new every single month for almost every single format. we never have any time to rly enjoy what we got until the new hotness comes out. im going to finish up a couple of commander decks and get 1-2 more museum pieces myself in the form of mishras workshop and maybe a couple extra LED then thats it.
edit: forgot prob a chains and maybe darkness as well. some of those good old black RL cards are too good to nbot have.
I know hwat you mean. Having started to notice nad like it since beta nad unlimited, there have been many times I walekd away from it over the last 20 years, then came back randomly. But I really wonder how long it will last; like many other frnachises that are seemingly going endlessly. Somethings gotta give with all this over printing.
yep, been playing since kamigawa/mirrodin era and walked away from it a little after lorwyn cause i jsut couldnt afford it, now i can and got quite a few nice pieces i want but now its getting to the point where all the crap they shove out every month makes it feel more like a subscription and i HATE monthly subscriptions.@@screwthenet

my local target is usually pretty picked over for magic stuff but today they were fully stocked with wilds of eldraine bundles and commander decks and they had tons of the lotr scene boxes, no ixalan stuff... was pretty weird

I usually believe in Rudys predictions and analyses, but here i see two flaws:
1. At the tactical level, he was already wrong with Dominiaria Remastered as a pivoting point and i also don't see it for Ravnica Remastered. The price point it starts into the market is simply too high (well, that can be said currently for nearly all magic products), no matter the print run. It will at best stay artificial stable with no sellers willing to sell low and no buyers.
2. The Hasbro management will not substantially pivot, this can only a new management which is measured from the bottom line from which they take over. The current management has to get revenue no matter the future impact, except there are clear signs from the board of directors, from the investors, that they accept declining revenue and margins as a strategy to assure the future health of the company.
How about the whole remove emotion from the equation then associating the value of his cards based on his happiness from looking at his vault?
The worrying thing is that while the markets have been going up, Hasbro has been falling down. It may look like they are going yo stabilize in 2024 right now, but what happens of the rest of the market does dip or crash. I don't think that Hasbro goes up in that scenario...

I wish understood paintings.
I do not think that the cards in Ravnica Remastered are that good. This is yet another overpriced reprint set that our group will not buy. We do not care if it is short printed or not. Besides, we can't trust Wizards because they can always print more and release it later. If we miss out, so what! I will wait a few months and see if there are any singles that I want. This year we only bought sealed boxes from the Wildes of Eldraine and Ixalan sets because they were so affordable. We have saved thousands of dollars by not buying sealed boxes from every set. If they go up in price, so be it. We will continue to enjoy playing Commander at the kitchen table. I really like what you said at the last few minutes of your video. I think most people are guilty of playing with their phones. When we have family get togethers and when we go out to eat, we put away our phones. Thank you for the video Rudy.
