I remember when the car manufacturers First started putting in the computers in the cars. The small shops had to buy something to diagnosis the Computers on the General Motors products that cost about $700 - 1,200 dollars. *Ford* had the same thing going on it cost about the same. And *MoPar* had the same thing going on. That was *$"BiG Money"$* at that time. Forced a lot of small car repair shops to go out of business. Some of the older mechanics just threw in the towel, cause they refuse to learn the new *_"_**_#Fan_**_-Dango"_* stuff !

It doesn’t require premium, it’s just better for the engine to maximize its potential on premium. My larger concern is payload, gas tank; hybrid cover being only 130 lbs which is useless. You can’t even build out your vehicle with these specs. Best bet is wait for the 4R non hybrid as the battery is probably 4-500 lbs which dropped the LC payload down to 1100. Range ain’t great either due to 18 gallons. Not to mention the hybrid is not really for fuel savings which means range is shit. What a disappointment. Nissan needs to bring the Patrol name plate back to the US instead of stating armada and make to slightly smaller with a v6 and it’ll stimulate some competition for that segment. The older Patrols were beastly.
The thing that has me scratching my head is that the Landcruiser has the same powertrain and power output as the hybrid Tacoma, but the former requires premium fuel and the latter does not.
The new land cruiser only has a few flaws: 1. low payload 2. 132 lb cargo weight limit in rear 3. how load floor/can't lay flat due to battery 4. Less ground clearance than a 4runner 5. Hybrid 4cly turbo only with small 17.5 gallon tank 5. OVER PRICED did I miss anything else lol
Honestly from what I’ve seen with the new Toyota Trucks, the only new Toyota I’d consider is a Sienna minivan. I’ll stick to the Dodges I can afford. Ram classic was the last good affordable truck. Who doesn’t have a plug in at least one tire?
@@Jason-Samko My wife brought a new 2020 warlock home once. She just signed whatever they put in front of her. It was a great truck except the hail damage. Had to sell it because the loan was garbage and we couldn’t afford it or the gas for her lead foot. Hemi quad cab 3.92 gears ZF 8 speed. Great truck. I told her we don’t need 3 gas guzzling trucks and two $700+ truck payments. It was a beautiful delmonico red. Was able to sell it for what we owed a couple days before the Ukraine war. Gas prices went up and used truck values dropped.
@@jrhunt414 Thats the exact version I would get. 3.92 gears, offraod package with the skids and locker, slap some 35x11.50 Wildpeak at4 tires on it and use it as the tool it was designed for.
OMG that list is hilarious! Good thing I can do all of my own maintenance and repairs (less a trans overhaul). SAVES me a ton of money!
@@hdz12ez yep and good skills to know how to do too
Nice
TRD Jon has a new Land Cruiser and he just yesterday showed in the manual, that premium fuel is not required, but recommended for the best performance
Thank you. Good to know
Good info on the trunk/ bed of the LC. Poor planing Yoya.
@sandman6298 crazy to think that weight limit was set for the rear floor. Those will be cracking in no time I bet
If the tank was any larger on the new Land Cruiser, the payload would drop from 1100lbs to 900lbs. 😂
@@showmemorefunthings9208 good point
Why does the LC have plastic components in the cooling system? Likely also in new Tacoma & 4Runner

The new 2025 patrol gets the twin turbo v6 just like the armada will. Wish they all kept the v8
@@Jason-Samko you can still buy the 2024 as that v8 should be pretty reliable. I just wish they made a slightly smaller size patrol in the states

Yep. Loose the battery and hybrid, drop the price 8k and let the battery area be actual storage and id buy it!

Love the ram classic! especially the warlock model with offroad package.

Seems like the new Land Cruiser is more for suburban housewives than people who do real off roading.
