    • @tim7052
      @tim7052 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Perfectly said!! 👍👍👍👍
      Because, for YEARS, the Indigenous have banged on about wanting "reconcilliation" and for all of us to become ONE Nation. So, how is that possible when their "Voice" in Parliament will be based upon the perpetual division of race and culture?
      We already have ONE system of Govt for ALL Australians - of which we also all share an equal opportunity for representation, or, to represent - and as this has been adequate for Australia, it should also be adequate for the Indigenous as well!!
      I will NEVER support any process that gives special treatment/advantage to any cohort at the expense of others purely on the basis of race or culture!! To do so would be to deny those great tenets of Australian society: "A fair go for all!!" and "mateship"!! 👍

      It’s about directing things more efficiently to get better outcomes, not necessarily giving handouts. Example: battered women in a remote aboriginal town might let The Voice know of their plight, then The Voice can tell the parliament and the government then has a clear mandate to go and fix it up without being accused of racism. Without it, if the government tell the cops to arrest the ‘things that batter’, it’ll look like racism (thus, the govt wouldn’t do that). I think it could well get positive results. It’s not about welfare handouts.

    • @mitchmccarron8337
      @mitchmccarron8337 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @MRxr400 - You got it spot-on. But even worse, it's not their fault - it's the government enacting racist policies that grant them extra cash, grants, etc. that perpetuates the expectation that they rightfully deserve more. It's going to be hard to reverse this wrong, but a strong No vote is at least a start. We're all Aussies, we all need to forge our own future in the best country in earth.
