  • Hi Folks today is another How to Project, DIY Caravan Waste Pipe for £10. This is not a new idea but ideal for Newcomers to Caravanning and great for Fully serviced seasonal pitches. If you would like to make the waste pipe straps please click the link below. I would recommend ordering the 18 inch velcro straps. Many Thanks Phil

Hi Phil, thanks for another great video. Ever since I started caravanning I've been trying to find the perfect drainage solution. I went as far as making an extendable version with a 32mm pipe sliding inside a 40mm pipe which could be locked by a 32/40mm pipe coupler which I modified with a hole cutter so the 32mm pipe slid through it. I could reach up to 6 metres with it but ultimately proved impractical because it had to be stored inside the caravan. Then I went the Colapz route and experienced the sagging problem and the fact that I had to buy the Colapz ground pegs to make it work on uneven surfaces. Now, just like you, I'm using a combination of the Colapz tubes with rigid pipe, couplers and and the rail straps which I think is ideal.
The one Colapz item I have which has proven to be a 100% success is their 8 litre Fresh Water Mini which has a float valve in the lid. I haven't used my bulky Aquaroll on a serviced pitch since buying it and we have never run out of water while showering. Another nice feature is it can be placed underneath the caravan so it's out of the elements.
    Happy caravanning.

Hi Steve. Thanks for watching & taking the time to comment. The Colapz pipes are great will still use them as the main coupled to this drain system. So far it has worked very well and for me is a keeper. I have the fresh water mini and the new float valve works really well. Thanks again Phil👍🙂

Hi Phil, What you have there is a good system 👍👌. I have the same but using stainless steel hooks instead of straps. It works a treat when the drain is near the caravan. Cheers, Rob

Well done, Phil. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Think it might work for acuaroll. It just might take a bit of thinking about 🤔 cheers Paul

Thanks for another great video, yes the colapz pipes are OK if you run them on the ground down hill, if you run them down the side of the van the pipe is called colapz as they do dip and collapse between supports, going to do the same to back of caravan 👍

HI Andrew & Karen. We have been using this pipe system with the colapz pipes. They work really well together, i am not going back now. Thanks Phil👍🙂

Hello Phil, just been watching your video, and I was watching an old video by Rob wise on this very same subject, so now I’m confident enough to carry out this project, never done fully serviced before but no doubt we be soon, we are not getting any younger lol, and also I have ordered all the parts that I need to make up the adjustable supporting straps that you made on another video a while back, thanks again, hope you and Juliet are well,👍👍.

Hi BB. Fully Serviced Pitches are the future as far as I am concerned. Once you try there we be no going back. With this pipe system you only need 2 straps to hold it correctly. I just attach my Colapz pipes to the end of the tubing and I am all set. I don't leave home without it all. Many Thanks Phil.🙂👍

    Fascinating vid Phil.
I always wondered how the Collapse waste water systems worked ...and now I know !
Incidentally spurred on by you, I washed and polished the caravan roof today. Filthy.
The sides have been done many, many times since I purchased the c'van last August but this was the first time I'd done the roof !😕

Hi Martin. The colosseum pipes are good but not so from the waste. I will still use them even with this set up. Glad you had a go at cleaning your roof. You will get less black streaks as well😉. Thanks Phil 👍🙂

Good vlog Phil , I have the Colapz mini and waste system and on the whole they are very good but with limitations . The waste pipes tend to sag and I have the pegs but they still sag.
The mini is great but only since o changed to the new float system - the old one constantly over filled due to the pipe touching the valve and letting the mini overflow .
The new valve fixed that as it’s a better design .
    Thanks again Phil

Hi Howard. Thanks for watching. The pipes do sag mainly when they have to deal with some form heat. The New Fresh Mini is a great idea we have one and it now works well. Thanks Phil🙂👍

Currently away in Spain on a fully serviced pitch with the collapz system and pegs and it's been almost impossible to get the waste water to run away because of the warmth affecting the flexi pipe. So thanks for the video.

Hi. Had the same issue in France. Is there a Spanish b&q near by. You could knock one up. Just a thought. Thanks Phil 👍🙂

We did something very similar last year for the exact same reasons. Should have done it in the first place and saved a few quid. However like you, we use the colapz ones as extensions at the end.

Hi Iain. This is an old method but tried and tested. I am happy with the results. I use the Colapz waste connector when having to use the Aquaroll. Thanks Phil👍🙂
