Cheers Martin, I am just doing my Aqua rolls right now then off to the storage yard and pull the water through the caravan water system and leave for a couple of hours then go back and flush through two clean Aqua rolls of water, then we are ready for first trip of the year, 👍👍.
Great video Martin excellent procedure great to see some interesting uploads on caravanning.most people will find this interesting. Your right on doing this as most people new to caravanning for get. I tend to buy the baby Milton sterilisation tablets similar but does the same job . Excellent keep up the good work . The rest of the bloggers have joined QVC lol
Thanks for the feedback, think I will try the Milton tabs next time, might be easier. Will keep the vids coming and keep it realistic! Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
Really great video Martin and very useful, it reminds me that I need to clean through our pipe work. Sounded very wet & windy up the storage yard. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
thanks Martin I use Milton solution (Baby bottle sterilizer) I wil not tell Angela what you did with her measuring Jug even though its now germ free LOL Dave
Hi Dave, I’m going to try Milton next time as a comparison. Angela won’t find out, she doesn’t watch my vids 😏😂 Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 👍
@@TheCaravanNut Sarah always complains that Tea made from the caravan site water we're at doesn't taste the same as at home....we now take water from home for her tea, I'm thinking it's because the pipes need cleaning.... I'll keep you posted 😉👍
That was so useful Martin I’ve read how to do this but it seemed so complicated now I’ve seen you do it it’s seems easy enough. I’ve just got one problem you done this at your storage unit I’m not quite level on mine (it’s a farm) and i can’t get my van outside the house. Something I will have to think about. Brilliant video as always. Have a good weekend and enjoy Edinburgh.
The Caravan Nut definitely needs a lot of flushing through if the smell of the puriclean is anything to go by done my water roll and I’ve got an on board tank that’s soaking at the moment once we have had tea I’m going to fill the pipes then start flushing it through your right it takes a long time but it’s better than having all the bugs and things that the stagnant water will bring
Hi Martin very useful video again it's time consuming job but it as to b done u said u had the heating on in the van do u know how long u could run the heating while only on battery I know u got gas but u still hav the pump working to push the water round the van do u know if it uses much power off battery cheers .kev
Hi, from what I have read some remove the filters and some leave them in. The external filter may filter out some of the puriclean when pulling it through, I left mine on, in hindsight I should have removed it. It won’t damage the filters but they will need flushing through well. The Aquasmart filters are designed to remove unwanted tastes and smells and are supposed to be changed every 30 days. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin
Hi Martin...good video... Have you ever thought of doing a video of flushing out and replacing the Alde wet central heating system. It's not cheap to have done mate...
Now there’s a job I’ve thought about doing! I need to do more research before I tackle that one, if I think it’s possible then I’ll do it. I’ve drained many car water systems down before and it’s a similar principle, watch this space! 🤔🤔 Thanks for comments as always, Martin 👍
I know you have enough to do, given the day job.. but ..what a great sideline...there is a video about it on here... I was quoted £170 for this plus another £170 for a service..and that was for putting in Blue not Pink of course .!
Hi Martin, we're thinking of getting either a mains hose or an Aquaroll float kit for fully serviced pitches. If we go with the hose direct from tap to inlet, will the pressure work without having a pump? We don't have an onboard pump as we use the external pump. Cheers!
I don’t think the direct one will work as you won’t have a pump, I also think that the float & Aquaroll is a better option. Personal opinion but I would be scared of the direct method failing and flooding the van out. I have heard people say turn it off when you go out but what’s the point of that, might as well not be on fully serviced. Hope that helps, cheers
Hi good video. Can you tell me if there is a way to clean the pipes without using an aquaroll? We use a direct feed into caravan with a whale watermaster. We don't drink the water but if we could clean pipes we would. Thanks
Not sure how you would do that, you need a container/Aquaroll in order to mix the Puriclean in with the water. You could try mixing some up in a jug and pouring it down the direct feed hose, that’s how I clean or water pipe, then draw it into the van. Hope that helps, cheers
I got them from B&Q but might be easier to order online from Amazon at the moment www.amazon.co.uk/Hozelock-Metal-AquaStop-Connector-12-5mm/dp/B0034G5NTU/ref=sr_1_33?dchild=1&keywords=hozelock&qid=1591277779&sr=8-33 Cheers Martin
Good vlog Martin I was thinking of diluting bleach and putting that down the waste pipes. So will definitely get the Fenwick drain cleaner, how often would you do it in 12 months. Regards Chris
Hi Chris, this is the first time I’ve used the drain cleaner, I will probably use it a couple of more times this year. It has worked well and the drains smell better 😊 Thanks for watching, Martin 👍
@@TheCaravanNut Hi Martin thanks, and how often would you use the Puraclean for the pipes. As ive used it once in 8 months,as seen it on Dan Trudgeons Vlog, cheers ,Chris
Hi Martin A problem I've got since last outting put pump on to fill hot water tank and ready to use as normal but pump will not turn off and housing has cracked so not a happy guy at moment as it just out of dealers after having damp sorted Any ideas to my pump Cheers Andy
Hi Andy, The crack could be drawing air in which will trigger the pump, hence continuous running. Could you try glue to seal the crack? Things always go wrong when it’s been in to the dealers! cheers, Martin
Hi, I thought that when I bought the van, I think it’s just the way the shower cubicle is put together, I did think of sealing around the bottom maybe I will at some point. Thanks for watching 👍

Apparently Milton reacts with metal and can damage your heater, pump and stainless steel fittings. All the advice I have seen is to avoid Milton
Thanks for the info, will be avoiding that then 🙂
