How To Add Students To A Moodle Course

- In this video, I 'll show you how to add students to a course in moodle from an excel (csv) spreadsheet.
STEPS:
1. Open Excel.
1. Create a spreadsheet with the usernames, first name, last name, emails of the students/
2. Save the spreadsheet as a csv file
3. Go to Moodle.
4. Click on Site Administration.
5. Click on Users.
6. Click Upload Users.
7. Drag the csv file to the drop inbox.
8. Click upload users

Once you add them and prob them with their log in credentials they should be able to access the course.

What you're asking about is possible, but you will need to work with your Moodle Administrator to ensure that it is activated.

Alfeo, you have the options to "Generate password and notify user" - under (Dashboard> Site administration> Users>Accounts> Add a new user) You can also select the option to force user to change the password upon log in if you wish

how can i guide my students to take part of a course... what they will need to download, or subscribe or whatever.. should i give them a link ? it will send the email by itself once i put them in the users list? i got everything, i just need it to be shared with them!
That's a very good question And the answer depends on your administrative privileges on the server.
Essentially you want to send them a link to the login page for your Moodle site and also send them there user name and password. Have the students login with the credentials that you created for them and then ask them to change their password.
Hi, great video. How can i add users that are in different classes on my roster to my new course. I would like to keep the students in my classes separate within a course. Can i group them or do i need to create separate courses for each of my classes by duplicating them.
Once you got users added to the Moodle database you can assign them to different courses. If you want to have groups within a course, yes, that is something that you can do.
Hi sir. How about if the student are already in the system there's a possible or shortcut to enroll them on a subject at bulk. I found it so hard to enroll users as manually.

Yes, you can. I'd suggest contacting your system administrator for assistance with that though.

Ususally the students names are already in the system once they enroll in schoo/college. However, if you are operating your own Moodle server then you can add the students names yourself. Alternatively, if you are the system administrator, you can enable students to self-enrol into the course or courses if you want. There are many ways to accomplish this depending on your level of access.
How would we create a self-registration page?
Do you mean for students to self-create an account on your Moodle site or to self-enroll in one of your courses? Those are two different processes.
Hi! Thanks for your guidelines -- I've successfully uploaded my users, but they aren't appearing in my grade list. Is there an additional step I need to take? I'm running a private academy, so there's no university database. TIA

Have you enrolled or added the students to the course that you want them to appear in?
How we would implement sso to moodle from external websites...?
Your system administrator would need to enable that authentication feature.
