    The next time a random, loud phone conversation starts right outside your door, you just need to turn on your loudest piece of machinery & that person will leave without you having to say a word to them. An air compressor will probably work, unless you have something even louder to use.

      Keep the old air compressor next to the door just for this reason

      It might even be something you could do on purpose. Do irregular stripes or patches to make it more interesting.

    Been watching since the start of this series. The work has been fun to watch but I also must say that your video editing skills have progressed nicely as well. Much more polished than in the beginning. And, as always, can't wait to see the final walk-through video of the before/after shots that you *have* to make when this journey is over!

    I built a 50x40x26 ft shop over the course of two years and our air compressor (looks just like yours, could be the same model) just gave out. We ended up buying a much larger one and bolting it into the concrete foundation and connecting it to a bunch of pipelines that went around the shop allowing for you to use the compressor from anywhere in the shop. It’s pretty cool having something considered more of an industrial commodity in your own shop. My point being you could likely do something similar! Albeit you probably won’t need a compressor as large due to the size of your workshop so you could save a lot of money on that

  • @jewdd1989
    @jewdd1989 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I love colored concrete! I’m not a fan of stained concrete but I adore when the colors added in the wet mixture. At times yours has almost a periwinkle tone of blue to it. Very sweet, love that it’s not this massive, solid hunk of concrete and instead you’re wise and build it sparingly while keeping its integrity. Cool cool

  • @rvkelly85
    @rvkelly85 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    The blue makes it look like the textures haven’t loaded in but I’m definitely going to copy this for my place and pass it off as my own idea.

    This video made me feel a lot better 😂 Tried my first GFRC practice piece 2 days ago, and it turned into a chaotic mess when it wouldn't spray. Ended up scooping it out of the hopper and doing it all by hand like the backer coat. Always nice to be reminded the more experienced people still run into issues, so I'm glad you include the struggles in your videos as well!

  • @lizzb1065

    I actually really love the little line mark details that the "mistake" with the air compressor caused. I honestly think it looks really cool! Great work, as always!!!

    That hopper that you have reminds me when I was 19 and was working with two tape & bed partners they also textured the turned the neck around the other way so the could spray texture on the ceiling, not many people (late 1970's) were innovative enough to do that, just to make a short story long👍. Thanks i really enjoy your videos.

    Looks great and a lovely all round area to relax in. Maybe some more plants around the area to block the wind a bit more might be useful in the colder months? Might not make any difference at all though. Would love to see it lit up at night.

    When I watched the Instagram video and you showed the hexagon cubes you made with leftover concrete, I thought those would make a great table top if set in epoxy.

    Drill a hole or two at the ground level of that box you are using to cover the propane tank for ventilation, incase there is a leak. I don't know if the gaps in the cedar facing are air tight per se, but it doesn't hurt to add a big of safety. Otherwise looks awesome as always.

    Shout out to the Cam dude. No way could I film, edit, these projects as fast as he does. Well I could ever do it. Considering that, he really did do a good job with his desk build. He probably just is not interested, as I am not interested in a heck of a lot of tech. And Mike your designs could go bad real fast, but none of them ever do. Maybe here and there, but never over designed aesthetically, they are just right. I appreciate you.
    MY 2 cents, trying to comment helps your algorithm, the least I can do.

    Hey Mike, I really love your videos and have enjoyed going along with you on this journey. I feel like it's worth mentioning to you is that Better Help has been coming under fire for a while for selling people's medical data, and it's pretty sketchy from what I've seen/heard; sometimes even referred to as a "privacy nightmare". I get that you need sponsorships to do this big of a project, but I feel like their business practices are something that maybe hasn't been brought to your attention. Have a great day

    Hello I enjoy your videos about your air compressor you might want a bigger dedicated one for your shop and out there now that little pancake lot of problems with that is moisture really cool a lot of people leave them with air in them and they get condensation inside that's why that little knob on the bottom is there when you're done using it to empty the air and get all the moisture out we don't do that it builds up water and you don't get enough pressure so it always seems like it's always building up pressure but good luck I hope you have everything working right next time you doing a great job I enjoyed this video.
