Thanks so much for this video. I have just bought a second hand dulcimer about 30 years old so I think I'd better change the strings. I'm wondering why you only put 3 on instead of 4 ? Just personal preference ? Also how did you learn to play all those instruments , did you go to a music school ? I love your videos. I also have to learn how to play it now !
Self taught, I got introduced to it through Folkcraft. I love 3 over 4, so much more speed in doing embellishments. Head over to my website I have lots of great resources for you to learn, beginner course, ebooks, memberships from $5/month. Thanks for watching.
if you have any instrument with rosewood i use wind bore oil on my rosewood fret board. thanks your youtube watcher carol hope you have a blessed day. could you do one on banjo restring please thanks again Carol
Your Methode is the best. Without string winder. Only just to unwind. One melody string was broken with stringwinder. Your clock is super.❤
The trick to wrap twice before threading really helped! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
You made that look so easy.. I’m gonna change mine soon.
Just changed mine for the first time and they sound great!

Those are wire cutters. Please use the correct terminology. This is a better method than another stringing method by The Dulcimer Shoppe.
Lol, wrong channel for that. I almost never use the “correct” terminology. Thanks have fun playing!
