A few weeks ago, my mother and I were looking at Christmas decorations: I noticed characters like Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, but also, Grogu (Baby Yoda), The Peanuts, Mickey, Olaf, Jack Skellington, Pikachu, The Grinch, Bluey, Scooby Doo, Garfield, etc. and I said to my mom "It's amazing how someone can create a cute character and make tons of money off of it." There are so many of these types of characters now, The Muppets are just lost in the shuffle.
I think another reason we haven't seen another Muppet film could also be due to the reception of Matt Vogel's Kermit. Great performer as he is the voice just doesn't hit the eardrums quite right.
@@AsukenickIt's been almost a decade at this point and he still isn't nailing it. Not that they give him much opportunity. I saw one video where I was like 'okay, great improvement' and then a recent one came out on Instagram and was a total regression. Ugh. I want him to succeed, but it's just not happening.
We definitely need a new Muppetmovie. I watch Most Wanted at least once in a year and i think its one of my top 10 favorite movies, cause it doesn't take itself seriously, but is just a chill comedy.
I honestly don't like Muppets Most Wanted or the movie before it. I prefer the classic Muppets much more. I think the last "modern" Muppets movie I really liked was Muppets In Space and even that wasn't as good as every other Muppet project that came before it.
Yep, just over 70 years. Most fans, including myself, however, pinpoint The Muppets birth at 5/9/1955. After all, May 9 is Sam and Friends and Lisa Henson’s birthday.
It's not really a Muppet movie, it's a story about a character who feels left out because he's different and there's nobody else like him and wants to find his "real" family (others who are like him), but learns that he's always had a family all along: his friends, who love him for who he is and all weird and different, too. You could use ANY characters in that story and it'd be the same movie.
Muppets Wizard of Oz came out in 2005 so I wouldn’t say that it was capping off the 90s. In Muppets Wizard of Oz Miss Piggy actually played all 4 witches not just 3 as it’s based off of the original Oz books.
Gonzo's species ambiguity is a big part of his character and they never should have tried to change that. In the original script it turns out that Gonzo's 'family' are indeed aliens, but have only taken on Gonzo's appearance. Also I'll die on the Most-Wanted-was-better-than-the-2011-movie hill. Folks should also listen to Bret McKenzie's rendition of I Can Get You What You Want, its great
I always figured calling him a thing or a whatever was because we never found out what his species name was. I don't remember them saying what they were called in the movie....right?
What happened to the new Sesame Street movie we were supposed to get a few years ago, especially now that the very future of Sesame Street itself is in question thanks to David Zaslav driving them away from HBO?

Hopefully he keeps working at it.
It's not easy being green...

It definitely didn't help that Steve got fired.
I honestly don't think Matt Vogel would be able to sustain Kermit for an entire film.
Yeah that guy's fighting for his life just to do some clips every so often.
We definitely need a new Muppetmovie.

yeah im honestly grateful we havent gotten another movie. seriously i dont want to see dismal disney killing the muppets like every other ip

Most wanted is so underrated I don't understand how 2011 gets all the praise
@@flyingkatya Steve said he enjoyed working on Muppets Must Wanted more.
@@charlesbennett7484 I agree. It was never the same after the 90s.
muppets from space has always been one of my personal favs! great vid!!
Thanks man, good to hear from you
And then fall again because it's been 10 years since the last Muppet Movie
Muppets Most Wanted is incredible, and I watch it like once a year lmao. Seriously, I like it more than Muppets 2011.
Steve did too.
@@Asukenick Honestly, I don’t doubt that. It looked way more fun to film.
Muppets Most Wanted really intrigued me as a kid. I really liked Constantine, even though he's the bad guy.
You forgot Kermit’s Swamp Years and A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, both from 2002.
I said in the intro that I would be covering mostly cinematic muppet movies with the acception of wizard of oz
Muppets letter to santa was skipped too but it doesn't matter still a good video
Appreciate it, gonna hopefully cover some of those specials in a future Muppetcember
More like the Fall and Failed Revival of the Muppets, Disney has pretty much done nothing with them
1:16 more than 70 year history actually

Muppets haunted mansion is apparently a movie according to Disney+
Great video!!!! Muppet video essays are an untapped niche.
Muppets from space doesn’t feel like a Muppet movie, it feels like if happy Madison productions made a Muppet film.

The biggest down side to this movie is that there were no original songs.
you ate this video! very well done!
You think so? Glad you enjoyed it 😁

I made the plan of covering specials like kermits swamp years another muppetcember, hope you enjoyed the video either way!
@ yes great job! I was just saying that there are actually four witches in Wizard of Oz.
i love this this is a masterpiece
I actually like Muppet Wizard of Oz because it includes more scenes from the book.
the remix of popular in the back was neat lol
so glad that the muppets meet up the sprunki 😌

Muppets From Space would have been better if it went in its original script; Muppets in Space.

Been here since day -13!
What happened to the new Sesame Street movie we were supposed to get a few years ago, especially now that the very future of Sesame Street itself is in question thanks to David Zaslav driving them away from HBO?
Honestly ,unless we get told otherwise, might be safe to assume that the movie could be delayed
Anne Hathaway who was slated to play the main antagonist got pregnant and dropped out.
Also, there's still PBS.
I loved the wizard of Oz. Ashanti was a very sweet Dorothy
I can’t understand the appeal of Muppets 2011 and Most Wanted.
Same here. They are nowhere NEAR as charming as the classic Muppet movies.
🐸 🎶Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side?🎵
13:05 4 actually
My bad
I’m Muppets Wizard of Oz Miss Piggy played ALL 4 witches
is there a reason the muppets is being talked about SO much all of a sudden???
Honest to god I have no clue why, I usually plan videos like these for each december 😅
@ no complaints from me, I love The Muppets and I’m really happy to see them getting a growth in attention again!!
Disney is closing Down the Muppets part of the park so people are in mourning.
