Greetings, DF My fiance and I have been watching your videos for a while, as they always make us laugh. but the main reason why I'm commenting right now, is thanking you for specifically uploading this video. Originally I was planning on getting in the shower earlier today, but saw this video and we decided to watch it before I did so. However, about half way through this video, my mother showed down to me that she needed me to bring her to the hospital, due to a huge amount of pain shooting down her arm, as she thought it could have possibly been a heart attack. I was able to get her there quickly, and it turned out it was a pinched nerve due to bulging discs in her neck. But it could have been a whole lot worse. And if I didn't watch you, I wouldn't have changed what I was doing a bit and actually been free to drive her there. So I really want to thank you for doing what you do and bringing happiness to people who watch your stuff, and I know it wasn't intentional of you, but thank you for getting me to change my schedule so I was able to drive her right away. Keep being you DF~

When I got there I saw my mom's throat was swollen and rushed her to the hospital. Her cancer had come back and in the night she had a heart attack. Our water problem literally saved her life. It's crazy how life works sometimes! Side note: please tell your mom to call 911 in the future. Never risk that because if she had have been having a heart attack there would be little you could do and it would be disastrous and emotionally devastating for you

I guess Ive got pretty lucky with treasure room drops (only started doing skull cavern properly today), so far Ive got the blue cowboy hat, a prismatic shard and a seed maker from them
Treasure floors can spawn on any floor after floor 10. The rate in which they spawn and what floors they spawn on depends on your luck. If you set yourself to far beyond max luck they spawn on every floor. A treasure floor that occurs can occur on that same floor again in the future, but it will no longer have treasure.
I would like to point out that the best thing about treasure chest rooms for people who do not use mods is that it means you get a quick free level. That is the main good thing. Meaning the next level will have a little better odds of having iridium. Plus I guess it is exciting/interesting. Not too terribly useful, but kind of nice and breaks up the monotony.

If you found 8 treasure rooms in 530 floors over the 2 days that would suggest a 0.015% chance of them spawning. On day 1 alone : 0.005% On day 2 alone : 0.02% So not very likely!

Just to add in this amazing community if you are playing on mobile and your item stack is full and you find a treasure chest (doesnt matter if skull caverns or normal.mines) dont trqsh anything to makeninventory om the item. Once ypu click ok the treasure item that drop will be multiplied by 2
I believe treasure floors are random. I've gotten more than 1 treasure floor within the first 80 floors and they also seem to spawn in different floor numbers each time I visit the Skull Cavern. I have also had the luck of finding a second treasure floor after going down the stairs of a treasure floor.

Pumpkin soup is the best food item for skull cavern early game because Gus sells it pretty often and it only takes 1 milk and 1 pumpkin for 200 energy 80 health and 2 luck to make, the recipe comes from robin at 7 hearts.
I play this on the switch, and I went in there on a good luck day, finding 5 treasure floors in a row. Each floor with the chests had rocks, and I would mine them, finding a different staircase. I would take the new staircase, and each time another floor with a chest would appear. I think I found a cowboy hat, seeds, 5 iridium bars, iridium sprinklers, and an auto grabber. That doesn’t include the other floors I found that day too :). Pretty lucky!
I believe the treasure floors in the Skull Cavern are completely up to chance. I've had days where I found three or four within the first fifty floors, and others where I didn't find any at all. On a side note: I have, a total of three times, found a Crystalarium in these chests. They are certainly worth it.
Sundays are my Skull Cavern days regardless of luck. One time I got 3 treasure rooms in a row. Floor after floor. It wasn't a full luck day, but I think I had a lot of luck buffs. Pumpkin soup is such a game changer for Skull Cavern

I've lucked out quite a bit on the treasure floors. I've gotten an auto-grabber, crystalarium, seed maker, a blue cowboy hat, sever engery tonics and life elixirs, and a couple different food items (I think farmer's lunch and pumpkin soup). There's good potential if you get lucky.
The rooms start appearing after floor 10 and are more common on good luck days. Things like the special charm in your bag make you have a better chance of finding them and they can drop many different things. Floor depth doesn't affect what you find.
Treasure floors have a small chance to spawn on each floor after floor 10 . The better your luck the better your chance .so max luck day + lucky charm + a food that boosts luck is the best way to find it .
The second ladder in the treasure room isn't odd. If a ladder hasn't spawned and there are still rocks there is a guarantee that there will be a ladder spawn from those rocks, and floors that have ladders on them naturally don't have that ladder count as a spawned ladder.

omg the other day I did a skull cavern run and found a treasure floor and it had an “auto petter” in it? i’ve never heard of those or seen them but it keeps your animals reasonably happy every day, not completely but it’s better than having to pet them every day because I find that to get tedious. i’m not sure if they added that in the recent update but wanted to share
While doing 2 skull cavern runs in 2 days, I found a lot of treasure floors but I only found them when I jumped down shafts mainly. You should retry the idea but jump down shafts because those might have a factor into finding the floors.
I have mined in skull cavern fairly deep (~100 floors) several dozen times and I have never seen a treasure floor. I didn't even know skull cavern COULD have them.
ive hit iridium sprinklers, seed makers, an auto grabber, a ton of seeds, the red and blue cowboy hat, just yesterday i got a crystalarium which was nice. im almost positive you can get any item even some craftsbles in those treasure chests but a lot of them are quite rare. i have yet to get a prismatic shard out of them. so you were just lucky or unlucky.
I just did a skull cavern run since I was in the desert anyway, it was a little extra luck day and I hit treasure floors like every other floor three times after lvl 30. I got two red slime eggs and some Omni Geodes
Skull Cave probably uses the same generation mechanics as the Mines, which would mean the loot on every fifth floor is garbage to prevent you from spamming up and down the elevator to regenerate the loot on deep floors.
The spawn rate may have been changed too with the last update. I remember going to skull cavern with the highest luck possible and finding just as much treasure floors.

It's a dummied out item called the Teddy Timer, there's a bunch of similar items only accessed through cheats or commands.

The rocks-only every 5 floors are probably due to re-used code from the mines, since you don't get ores on floors with a lift door there (every 5)

The hats are determined by the achievements. Once u get an achivement, the hat salesman will have that corresponding hat.

I feel so lucky getting a treasure floor immediately after floor 100 and getting the blue cowboy hat
I've found Iridium Sprinklers, Crystalarium, and a seed maker in the treasure floors.
ive hit iridium sprinklers, seed makers, an auto grabber, a ton of seeds, the red and blue cowboy hat, just yesterday i got a crystalarium which was nice. im almost positive you can get any item even some craftsbles in those treasure chests but a lot of them are quite rare. i have yet to get a prismatic shard out of them. so you were just lucky or unlucky.

I just did a skull cavern run since I was in the desert anyway, it was a little extra luck day and I hit treasure floors like every other floor three times after lvl 30. I got two red slime eggs and some Omni Geodes

That tractor is one thing i miss while playing stardew on the switch
Skull Cave probably uses the same generation mechanics as the Mines, which would mean the loot on every fifth floor is garbage to prevent you from spamming up and down the elevator to regenerate the loot on deep floors.
And that is the story of how the red cowboy hat was born
I think floor 100 will always be that small floor, because there's a Qi quest to get down to that floor.
Treasure floors are like dinosaur eggs.

You know what's worse than Prismatic shard? I've dig to floor 1,050 but what I got is A FRIGGIN' SPRINKLER
You usually encounter many more treasure floors 'cause you usually boost your luck when you go there.
The spawn rate may have been changed too with the last update. I remember going to skull cavern with the highest luck possible and finding just as much treasure floors.
