- The Wizard's secret festival locations explored! Turns out that at several of the festivals, the Wizard is standing in a secret place not normally accessible. This also includes some unique dialogue. Any theories on this? There are a few more things that still need exploring.. Stardew Valley gameplay with my commentary as always!

There's a fan theory that Elliott is (or was once) a merman. Not only does he choose to live by the ocean and is often seen staring out at the water (either the sea or the river) but at the Luau the Wizard talks about the merpeople being upset if humans litter into the ocean, while at the Moonlight Jellies festival Elliott talks about it being a shame that humans litter into the ocean...

I'm pretty sure the hidden egg off-screen is a manifestation of Willy's dialogue during the egg hunt. He says something along the lines of him hiding an egg so well no one finds it until it goes bad.
There's also one in the back of his pick-up truck that I don't think you can actually pick up. It's easy to spot, but trying to interact with it just interacts with his truck instead.

The NIght Market has three different sets of villagers attending to the market depending on the day of the festival. You should have checked every single day of that event.
Oh, and, according to the texts of the game, there's always a speech for every character at every festival except for the night market. For the Feast of the Winter Star, here's what the Wizard would have said if he was there: "Ah, the mysterious Winter Star. One of the reasons I chose this valley as the location for my... research."

Add to that the fact that the Wizard's birthday falls on the last day of the Night Market, I agree that at least that night should have been looked into as well.
The Stardew Wiki says: the dialogue between Linus and Wizard at spirits eve can be found in the game's data files;
Wizard: "The affairs of mundane folk matter little to me, but the elementals like a chance to see you up close. It was for them that I created this silly maze."
Linus: "Good show, old friend."

I love how the fortune teller says she sees krobus at the beach during some sort of festival, but he says he doesn't reveal himself to humans and he clearly doesn't go to any festivals
You can invite him to the movies and he shows up in disguise, probably does the same for festivals once he becomes your roommate. The fortune teller can just “see” through the illusion

'The poor beings do not realize they are nothing more than souls, no longer of the mortal plane that they once knew. Each one departing from the war ravaged their world. The only survivor, my oldest and dearest friend, left alone with only nature to keep him company for his eternal life. He asked me to do what I could for them, but all I could was give them a facsimile of what they knew, erasing their last moments of their life ending. I watch over them now, these lost souls believing themselves to be alive and behaving as such, never realizing that year after year, nothing changes, always the same. A novelty for the other spirits, I 'bring' them in near the end of the Autumnal season so they can watch them, otherwise they leave them be. Linus the Immortal helps me watch over them as we view them from afar, always kept apart.
They can not know the truth, I fear what the repercussions of what I have done would be.

This would actually make sense. All the inconsistencies with real world logic would be explained, like how the children never grow up and how you can play for centuries and nobody ever grows old, and how crops that take months to grow mature in only days, how a year is only 112 days, why there are weird supernatural things in the mines that nobody seems to be particularly weirded out about. The only thing that doesn't add up is the fact that Kent shows up in the second year; if the village is supposed to exist in some sort of different dimension where time doesn't flow, shouldn't he have been there all along?
Exantius E, perhaps Kent hadn’t died yet, and was pulled into Pelican Town once he did… His family says he was fighting in the war, maybe he died during it.

Well. We know from other interactions that the reason hes up there on the cliff during the hallows festival is because he was using magic to grow and shape the hedges as no one was allowed to go up there while he set it up.
Personally I believe him and Linus are friends due to the fact that they both stay clear of most people. Not because of any fancy like, "Linus is connected to nature" sorts of stuff. I think they both can keep secrets and as such they tell each other stuff. He probably helps Linus survive out in the wilderness

Here is Mello's grand ol' Fan theory served up hot! (and hopefully first... I put a lot of thought into this for it not be original):
So the wizard and Linus are buddies but not for the reasons we think. The wizard AND Linus prefer to be alone.
The wizard says he does things to please the Elementals. I find it more then likely because he made a pact with them for his powers. His ex-wife went around cursing the country side, but not him. I wonder if it's because he sought protection from the elementals as well.
Seeing as the witch has active magic that can work without her presence and concentration, and can get stronger things done then just changing the way people look, she is very strong. The wizard's "seal" did nothing to contain her in the mountainside, as she is not present in her home. So her magic is stronger than his to the point where she can step around his without destroying his magic seal, and he knows it.
In this case, Linus is the elemental he made a pact with.
Leaves can do a lot of things, but keeping you warm in winter(beyond tinder for fire) is not one of them. He even hinted at being in frozen tundras, yet he has all of his limbs and no signs of frost bite. His tent isn't heated, nor is it insulated. Temperature regulation could occur IF he could be able to control his body's hypothermic and hyperthermic responses... in reverse....
His tent being present at the base of the mountainside, and his refusal to leave there, suggests that he is only there to hold the witch at bay. He goes to the side of the cliff and looks out into the distance often as well. Who's to say he's not watching the witch to make sure she doesn't get up to something that would cause trouble for the town.
Hypothesis: The Wizard is in a pact with Linus the Elemental for power and protection.
This is actually a really good theory, and I totally agree, there IS a lot of evidence that would prove this!

Costantino Carnevale It could just be that since both Linus and the Wizard have deep appreciation for nature, they have found a certain kinship with one another. It also helps that they’re both outcasts in their own way, so I bet it’s easier to relate. Of course, there’s also the possibility that they have known each other for a long while. I just don’t think their relationship is as deep or complex as people make it out to be.
What if the wizard was talking to the JOJA truck driver in the Egg festival? What if the bus driver knows more than we could possibly guess(explains why he has a "lucky charm" ready to be traded with a rabbit's foot! Think about it, is it normal for a normal person to possess such an item!!) What if the bus driver wasn't even human? A dwarf? A midget? An ALIEN??!!! The possibilities are endless... 0_0

the flower dance festival you can zoom out ( a feature in the game and not a cheat ) to see him

The witch is probably angry because the wizard made Abigail with another woman. Maybe he's observing her to see if she turns out to be a witch too. Linus is under training, getting to know the elements and have an excuse to to have such a magnificent beard.
I think why the wizard was at the spirits eve festival was because Lewis noted that the Wizard was the one who set up the maze. He was probably just watching to see who figured it out. And also to see weak mortals scream in fear, etc.

One of the wizard’s dialogue when you have 10 hearts with him he tends to say “sometimes I observe the townspeople from afar” I guess he’s probably referring to the festivals
Just a note: The Night Market is a 3 night festival and different villagers show up each night.

I'm starting to think that Linus may not be human, or at least fully human. The way he lives, the way he talks about other people as if they're alien to him, the way he always hangs around the wizard, and the wizard doesn't seem to mind, even though he explicitly goes out of his way to avoid interacting with people, is making me start to think that maybe both Linus and the wizard are hiding something

Linus is King Arthur, and the Wizard is Merlin.
Merlin is aware that Abigail is his daughter, and has asked King Arthur to assist in protecting the village from the ongoing war that Kent has returned from.
But in order to protect the village, and keep himself hidden from the enemy, King Arthur has to pretend to be a homeless man.

I'm very late, but he probably needed to give his winter star gift before being able to find him. Just like in the egg festival.

So the Wizard is constantly outside the festivals because of the dialogue options the Wizard says when you talk to him is something along the lines of "I surprise watch the villagers without them noticing... I hope to find an apprentice to pass along my arcane knowledge."
The festivals are him watching the villagers since all of them are in one location

Lol, I've never noticed he was missing. I have missed half the festivals because I won't leave my farm until everything has been pet, milked, watered, pickled, or preserved, which is about noon.
So lianus talks a lot about his travels right? Maybe he was a worldly person and so would know many things. Maybe he met the wizard as a younger man and the two grew old together as quiet friends. The wizard has a lot of respect for worldly people
