just found about this channel, this is such a great format and I'll be watching every single player role video you'll make. Great job and thanks for making these amazing vids
Wide Playmaker mentioned!!!!! (thats my favorite role! I wait for your video about the WP) Thats another banger. Now I kind of want to use a No Nonsense CB as Quarterback for my team
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I'm not even joking: I'm literally stalling to create my new save on FM because I'm waiting for you video on the WPM to create a tactic around it 🤣🤣
Just a suggestion once you done with player roles. If you can do a video explain of how to adapt in any given situation like what changes would you make in home and away game or in the middle of a match. Great video as always.
thank you and thank you for the suggestion :) I've got some ideas for that type of video; I was thinking something along the lines of identifying the roles the opponent is using and how to counteract them
Crazy, i said you were psychic with your last video, ive just used a no nonsense center back all season consistently (Ryan Porteous) for the first time ever and now you post this 😂
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker and to be fair, I think it's a detriment to the descriptions SI have provided. The leaked new ones looked more correct, but to be honest, I think they are overcomplicating it.
Good work again like always👑. What will you do after role guides finish? I personelly very curious about what instructions like 'run at defence' REALLY doing in the field. Thanks again for your efforts👑👑👑
you're welcome :) After the role guides, I'll be doing more role combos, tactic stuff, and getting into the other videos (like training, scouting, etc...)
First, big thanks for awesome content. I wanted to ask your opinion about using NNCB with a TF in a counter attacking 3-3-2-1-1. Idea being NCB hoofing to TF, who then can feed SS just behind him or BBM making those dynamic runs. What could be potential problems with this apporoach?
Sounds really good! Makes a lot of sense, a NCB and TF are a great pair, and the SS running in behind is a perfect compliment to the TF. And you shouldn't need to add many instructions for those two either; a TF is a focus role that likes direct passes and the NCB hits direct passes. They're a lovely pair, great idea :)
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymakerThank you for the feedback! My projected lineup for this tactic is: GK(D) / NNCB(D), CD(C), ??? / WB(A), A(D), WB(A) / BBM(S), ??? / SS(A) / TF(S). What do you think should be missing roles and duties of remaining 2 slots? For the third central defender position, I was considering BPD(D) with player instruction of playing to TF but I watched you telling that you don't like BPD's for counter attacking tacticts, if I remember correctly? So maybe another NNCB? Or maybe a second DC? Also what about the partner of BBM in the midfield? I'm even more lost there
I had a thought after watching the video, what if you play a technically gifted player as a NNC instead of a BPD? Would he be a better chance creator or worse?
I wanted to ask the same. I always thought this was supposed to be BPD job, but I never seen them doing long range passes or switching flanks, even if they have that player trait. But my first thought watching this video was what if you put high passing/vision player with right traits to play this role.
Ask your BPD to dribble more and train him traits like runs with the ball often, brings ball out of defence and tries to play out of trouble. Use him alongside this NCB with long range passes to give your team two types of playmaking center backs: One with trickery and movement one with passing and directness.
Van Dijk is really good in this role; and I had a lot of success with Konate as well. Granted their elite players at Liverpool, but that's kinda the point And I find that the NCB actually do the more "creative" passes than the BPD. The BPD is more about dribbling, where the NCB is those huge passes. NCB is elite tier at creating long chances from the backline
So then would good technical attributes help with this sort of plays or are the passes too long for accuracy to really matter? I really like more direct plays and semi-consciously took notice of the NCB passes but this video fully opened me to try them offensively. I just saw another video from you where you used an AM with defensive attributes and connecting the dots this got me thinking if an AM 'target man' could be done with an NCB bombing it to him.
@@andriyyi It's true, the NCB's passes are out in to space where accuracy isn't as important (the NCB doesn't "need" the passing attribute, for example). But it never hurts for a player to be highly technical even if the role doesn't call for it. I can't remember the exact time stamp in the NCB video, but Konate hits a pass across the field, right on target.
Sam Allardyce football at its best, unfortunately not for me, this role breaks everything my tactics stand for, using a DLP in DM, and using short passing, quick tempo tactics. This one role of PUNT IT!!!! Would make everything else redundant.
I actually use a back three with 2 NCB D on the sides and a BPD S in the middle, with play out of defense. I mean they dont usually do it, but when they do it's beautiful.
@@TheTraaaaaaa Generally that would work, other tactical ideas could be effective, but yea the Stopper will get up the field in a high press to try and win the ball quicker
Oh yeah, the 'lower league playmaker' as I like to call them. When I start with no badges this and the goalkeeper who can kick it hard are my assist boys.
Love building one of these journeyman squads where everyone is just aggresion, bravery and at least 1.90 tall. We play 3-3-3 with ball winners and poachers; there was a 10th guy for a bit but he got sent off early.
Finally, the only role I can actually play
😂
I'll play the no nonsense full back... we just need two more to complete the backline 😆😆
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
The backline or talent lackline? 😄
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I'm the nothing-but-nonsense defender. I fumble under pressure.
The unintentional Ball playing Defender
He's entire thought process is: "this ball's going up the field, better hope you chose a player role to take advantage"
The role that Ten Hag assigned for all his centerbacks 😂😂
too soon ☠☠

that astral projection is gaining strength haha
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker lobbed over like a NNCB pass 😄
Quality role and good call out about this versus the Ball Playing Defender, especially for counter attacking. Don't want players holding the ball!
Feels like the closer you get to your own goal, the less time you'd want players spending on the ball haha

thank you :)
I'm getting Huth/Morgan Leicester 2015/16 vibes, very cool.
Excellent excellent comparison, wish I'd thought of it haha. Just what they're good for; especially if you've got that Vardy-type striker
This definitely makes my day 😅🎉.

hot take: if you switched just the names of the BPD and NCB, it'd be even more popular. You can't instruct those long passes!!
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker unbelievable what names can do. And for the records: NCD is a role the ai does use. Press them!

Definitely a centerback role that hates ‘Play Out Of Defense’ 😂

yep! I like to use the Stopper with a 4231 and two central midfielders. Gives you that little extra protection in the midfield
