@@GiveThanksAndPraise absolutely brother! You were taught well👍in fact I have taken many level winds off myself and never known anyone else that did it ……….till now🤷🏻♂️. Like you, I use my thumb only to stop the spool when bait hits water. I loosen the reel as much as possible so I’m always flirting with disaster 😉. Thanks brother!!👍👍
Wierd question but I gotta ask, how to you like the reel with the handle on tge left side? There's no issues just reeling and not feeding the line lay to be even? I want one like that but really questing the line lay
@rayceburns8327 as long as you don’t over fill the reel with line you would have to really work at it to get into trouble. The only time you can have a problem is if you over fill with line and then let it pile up in one spot. It will start to rub on the frame and you won’t be able to crank anymore. These 2 steps will keep you rolling; 1.very slightly under fill the spool, just by 3-4 yards. 2. When your hand is holding the foregrip (above the reel) let a finger keep the line in the center. You won’t need to move your finger left and right. We are all righty’s, but I have everyone using left handed retrieve reels for casting plugs and jigging. I have always felt that my dominant hand should be working the rod. Cranking isn’t as important as controlling the rod so I won’t dedicate my dominant hand to do the simplest task. After one use, all of my guys prefer lefty retrieves. 👍👍
@@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS hi Mike, the reel is going to have to wait, I went out last night and smashed a rock broke my new Katana prop and the the motor is not working so I’m down for the count (boat ownership)😂
@@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS thanks Mike! Would you say the 500 narrow would be perfect for jigging and bottom fishing for groupers and amber jacks? I just want to make sure I have enough line capacity. Thanks for the reply!
Great looking reel. About time someone made a reel to help prevent backlash!!!!
A 10 pin brake system is INSANE! It’s a perfect design. It’s a meat and potatoes setup -No finesse required and they COME WITH all brakes installed.

An awesome video you always give some much information. Thank you my friend 😊
Thanks Ron!!! 🙏🙏🙏❤️
Unbelievable! Looks like an awesome new feature!
It works so well, especially for a conventional reel. It behaves like a baitcaster but you don’t have to down size. 👍👍👍
Smooth casting reels for sure
👍👍. I’m looking at your Tern 300 right now brother! Goin in the box tomorrow.

I was looking to pick one of these up not long ago, now after seeing this video I may just get one lol. what size reel were you using?
@@LexCTF I use the smallest size for vertical jigging. It’s the 300. 400 is the same diameter spool, but wider.
