Making enemies pointlessly, trying to get into keeping plants but not committing, starting an awful looking mural on his own walls, Stanley is really living that tiktok influencer lifestyle, huh
You could combine this with a get rich challenge, and give Stanley traits like "Ambitious", to prompt him to want a job, and "Collector" to encourage him to collect things. "Can I get rich in the Sims by only following whims?"
The fact that Stanley chooses to go camping for vacation on the one video he actually has a real house just shows he doesn't need a roof and a bed to have a good time
He's much too used to being homeless. Sleeping every night on a bed must have been really uncomfortable for him. Almost as uncomfortable as not being able to do any get rich quick schemes. Its like when a workaholic retires and doesnt know what to do with themselves cause their work was their entire personality. Stanley without homelessness and rich quick schemes isnt Stanley.
I love whims/wants, I've never turned them off. I ignore them a lot, but sometimes when I feel bored it's nice to indulge in my sim's impulsive wish to break off their engagement, date the pizza delivery man, and buy an observatory
I always turn them of because of the new fears thing, before I usually kept them on and occasionally used them but a few months ago my sims kept on walking around scared bc I didn't use them and that pissed me off too much. 😅
@@lady_apocalypse178thankfully, the fear for not satisfying whims is really easy to clear, but the ithers i genuinely cheat away cuz theyre SO ANNOYING.
James Turner did an upgraded one of these style challenges which was in addition to the whims you have to do everything the game tells you (click yes on every pop up as well)
@@hollyschmidt9316 I'm pretty sure he did! (That was a while ago.) I think he sent his Sim home shortly after because you just can't fulfill that many whims out there. The social ones, sure, but not a lot of the activity related ones.
I would love to see this again with some different traits. Edit: I believe the more you do something the more the related whims seem to come up. so the more you are mean the more mean whims pop.
I have a great combination of traits for this. Loves the Outdoors, Foodie, and Romantic, plus have them "Like" a bunch of unrelated things like jazz music, rock climbing, affection, and Baking, and maybe a handful more. Then give the Renaissance Sim aspiration so they want to develop several skills and do several things.
I miss sims 3 wishes. In sims 3, there used to be a 'wishacy' legacy challenge. Basically you go through a legacy by only doing what your sims wishes. So for instance, you cant get married or have kids until your sim wishes for that. In general, the wishes in sims 3 were so much better and they really got you to explore the game, rather than just being based on your traits. I really miss this and I wish I could do a wishacy challenge in sims 4 :(
Maybe the Sims 4 team can come up with some sort of update, where we can set a bed time. I would definately love to set a bed time, by clicking on the bed, then being able to set a bed time and having my sims go to bed at that time. Maybe the Sims 4 team could also create like a little alarm clock and then that could be used to set a wake up time. I feel like having routines are really helpful when taking care of my sims needs and it also gives me more time to do other things.
Sims 3 used to have an alarm clock! You could set the time it would go off (it's default setting was one hour before work/school) and it would start ringing and wake the Sims up
Debate captains only works when the sim you're talking to also has the geek trait. In my experience, even then sometimes it doesn't show up, though. Also, the wants will go away on their own after a while unless you pin them by hovering over them and clicking the little pin button in the bottom right of the want bubble.
I love this idea! It'd be fun to see you randomize traits and aspirations then do it because the family orientation trait is wild with wanting you to have a child LMAO
love how painted that cheesy mural of people holding hands peacefully across the globe, despite the fact that he wants to be enemies with everyone and constantly beats people up
My favorite "follow the wants and fears" thing I ever got in a Sims 4 game was I had a Sim who for some reason as a young adult got a fear of death (I still don't know what triggered it because she never had any close calls). So when I tried to make her get over the fear by talking to elders and the Grim Reaper, she went off and decided she was soulmates with the Grim Reaper, and the next day, she decided she wanted to "Try for Baby with Grim Reaper" from being romantic partners..... Naturally I absolutely let her even though it was incredibly annoying trying to kill a sim to get him to show up and then finding a way around the whole "he's the Grim Reaper" thing. They made a really cute kid though.
22:49 the granite falls vacation is actually popping up for all my sims. I think it’s the sims trying to get us to explore packs that simmers don’t use.
The tree house. My sims all but fight over sleeping in it. Another item my sims obsess over is the globe bar. If you ever wanted to role-play a functional alcoholic, just place one of these bad boys down.😂 Also yes to another challenge like this with different traits.
I had the thought to do a Whims Only Legacy Challenge... like how long could you go in a legacy with only whims and random traits. Cause they do get baby making whims so eventually you'd get a sim who didn't and then legacy over. Idk... I'm tempted.
I tried... it doesn't really work. There used to be a 'wishacy' legacy challenge in sims 3 and it was my favourite challenge but it's so hard to recreate in sims 4 bc sims 4 whims are usually just based on traits and they get really repetitive after a while. Also a non-romantic or family oriented sim will never want to have a child so you're stuck then 😂
wouldn't it be incredibly cool if, for example, a creative sim would get a great variety of really wild wants that pushes them out of their comfort zone (try new skills, go to venues, random stuff like streaking, etc.), while maybe a loner or gloomy sim might only ever get very few and unimaginative wants that keeps them in the house. i think it could go a long way to make sims feel like individuals
There was a Sims 3 challenge where you have room mates, random roll their traits, and then play the game based on wants and wishes. It makes for a crazy game play
The repetitive wants are good if you do a challenge, like the 100 baby challenge one. One of the repeated wants is "have a child" if your sim is family-oriented
I loved this challenge. It would be great with other traits, probably the ones that would allow for the most experiences and better socializing, maybe career related so can get a job. And it would also be interesting if you had to accept the game invitations.
I really liked seeing Stanley getting to do everything he wanted, he deserves it. I'd like to see another video with different traits and see how different it is. Stanley did a really good job taking care of his needs, I was surprised.
kayla, i just want to say thank you. your consistent and top quality uploads have really made a difference in a lot of our lives. you’re my favorite youtuber to wind down to after my frequent panic attacks. we know you’ve been going through a lot lately, and i hope you know we all appreciate you and your content🤍
I got Mortimer’s call too and he’s got into a fight with Bella I was like no physical fight in my home. Then there was a thunderstorm and tried to get him to come inside, but he wouldn’t stop playing in the mud puddle. And he almost got struck by a lighting then they left, two days later Bella came to visit my sim and she was pregnant. I was so confused 😅.
Kayla, I just wanted to let you know that your videos have been really cheering me up lately. I started my junior year of college on Wednesday and unfortunately on Tuesday night, my childhood dog that I have had since 1st grade passed away. I have been struggling a lot emotionally and have found it hard to find things to make me feel better. I have been playing the Sims since I was in elementary school and the Sims 3 has been a comfort game for me. I just wanted to thank you for making videos and bringing a lot of enjoyment to me. Thank you Kayla
Hah, how silly of sims to choose to nap on the couch when tired instead od going to bed, she said, at 11pm whilw lying on the couch watching this video with only one eye staying open but being too lazy to go to bed😂🙈
Perhaps the next challenge could involve earning enough whim points (I think it's around 5000) to unlock the potion for trait changes. With new traits come new whims, until you can purchase the potion again, and so on
stanley rlly deserved this break!!! id love to see you do this again but with an all new set of traits ! :) maybe glutton, kleptomaniac, hates children, ect. - some of the ones that maybe arent used so much in day to day gameplay. Much love!
i made a whole legacy challenge around this!! u pretty much got it down lol, follow the whims is the main objective. i also have it to where u HAVE to say yes to every pop up (excluding the stupid phone call ones) so discovery and likes and dislikes you always say yes to. i also follow the aspiration as that’s the main thing your sim wants to do. i randomize traits and aspiration and everything for the heir, and same for their children. since you can only have kids if your sim wants to, in the case my heir DOESNT want a child, i’ll adopt close to the end of their adulthood to keep it going. it’s super fun!! i have ui cheats so i allow myself to reroll the real dumb ones that are super repetitive, like vacationing to granite falls lol. it keeps the game interesting for me because traits and the world and the sins around you make it different every time! fun if you’re feeling a little uninspired for sure :)
This was fun! I would definitely be interested watching this with some weird or random traits to see how it changes the challenge. I might actually try this in my own game soon. I feel like I need a change of pace, and this would definitely make me try some different things.
4:43 I had a grave on my lot with a whole set up with a rug and a rose and a couch, so my sims gf, now wife, Cassandra goth always slept there I had to walk her to bed 😂
4:39 I HATE this. My sims will pass their 4 bathrooms (I have 6 kids lmao) to use the parents bathroom in their own room then get embarrassed when they see their moms showering like I had one of my kids almost die from embarrassment bc they keep doing this 😂
Would be awesome to do this again but start in an empty house, if his whims say he is hungry you can buy a fridge, or a bed if he says he wants to sleep etc.. so you only furnish the house with things he says he wants.
You bringing Bella to the museum bahaha. I recently decided to try some of the scenarios and did the same for the emotional one. “Sorry just met you here to share insecurities, gotta go!” 😂
This video perfectly illustrates why wants suck, they keep repeating the same ones over and over and over, it geta boring real quick. Whims were so much better...
This was super fun! I watched Gluon's stream when he did it and it was quite funny. Even if some of the stuff is monotonous, it's still entertaining with your guys' commentary and everything. :) Would definitely be interested in this with different traits. Maybe play multiple Stanleys at once with different traits?
I did a whims challenge shortly before they changed it to the wants system, and the old whims system was a lot more varied and less repetitive. With the old whims system you would get whims based on your skills, aspiration and emotional state, not just your traits.
I think my whims are turned off in my game. I got bored of them because like you said, they get repetitive. Stanley deserves a vacation. lol Know what would be interesting is if you put your Sim self in the game with Stanley and you could be in the game in that way and maybe do a challenge where like you're competing with Stanley on who becomes rich the quickest. A rags to riches challenge with your Sim self competing against Stanley. How are those fur babies, Snap, Shrimp and Sunny?
I made it so every day has new personality traits. Their personality is just SO STRONG, as you saw with the evil trait here. Switching every day gave more interest to the whole thing.
Definitely want to see this type of video again for Stanley but with totally different set of traits and likes. I mean this hotdog had been through a lot, he deserves it 😂
I really hope one day they update wants for it to be less tame. In the sims 2, if you got into a fight, sometimes you'd get a want to see them as a ghost implying your sim had to find a way to kill them 😭
I wasn't expecting so much of this video to be an extended sleepover with Mortimer Goth who keeps crying in Stanley's bed.
fr😭 is this part of a dlc tho? ive never had a sim ask me if they could stay over
