If you put picnic tables / tables and chairs around the food stall, I find that they stick around and finish their meal more often! Might be useful for sushi accidents in future.

This happened to my sim while he was at the dinner table with his sister who hated him. so i watched him choke to death on the pufferfish while his sister just calmy watched and smiled.

For the pufferfish it's a 50% chance and the sim has to be in a bad mood to make it higher. I hope this helps! I'm a big fan!
There's NO WAY it's a 50% chance - she'd have seen significantly more deaths if that was the case given how many she sold. I think sources have overinflated the percentage, because it was never meant to be an almost guarantee like that. And past discussion on the internet about it suggests it's closer to 20% and that's only if you max out the chance of death (single serving cooked, poor quality, person eating it is in a bad mood, cooked with low quality appliances, etc) otherwise the chance is lower than that.

It's actually 0.5 of base chance, wich can go up to 100. So a literal 0.5 change of killing someone by default. If it's poor quality, it gets a multiplier of 6, making a wooping 3% chance of being lethal. Then there is another x6 multiplier if the sim is in a bad mood, wich I'm not sure if it's stack, but I would assume so to make it 18%, plus another x3 if the sim has fear of death, so 54% is the max.
It's only 0% if the food quality is outstanding (impecable for food), or if the sim is a Vampire or a Mermaid. So, you can actually die from all other qualities, but the chance is really low unless you're in a bad mood or have the fear of death trait.

I believe that whether they survive the bad pufferfish is influenced by their mood. As you saw with Stanley, surviving makes them confident so they’re less likely to die on subsequent servings.
I can’t believe Nancy survived when she was very uncomfortable. She must have gotten very lucky.

My evil witch from Glimmerbrook bumped off quite a few Sims with her delicacy of pufferfish nigiri many moons ago but what was more lethal was the bonfire! Get a few sims sitting around that and the grim reaper will be there all night 😃👍

I think Mortimer is living up to his name more than anyone expected. People kept dying, and Mortimer kept coming back anyway. I think he was secretly enjoying it.
I love how the first few died and fell under the table, like Stanly was was trying to hide the bodies. I couldn't stop laughing at that, so thanks for the laugh.
I feel like Stanley needs a Friend. Maybe a Weenie Sims named Stacy? They could work together so like Stanley cook the Fish and Stacy sells them.

I play rotationally and I've noticed lots of some with food stall lunch began in their inventory. I think what's happening here is they're buying it but not eating it, if you play as them they'll probably have the puffer fish in their inventory. Probably a weird bug

The way to stop Eleanor Sullivan from calling you call the time is to remove her "hidden" trait that has her name in it using the MC Command Center. It will stop the calls. You can add that trait to other Sims and they'll start calling you to do a stay over for your kids.
i didn't realize that, with certain deaths, sims would stay sitting down when they died? i've always seen them stand up first before doing their dying animation. i've been playing since release and have never seen it before today, that's crazy.

I've never had my Sims make pufferfish. I knew that they could die. I will however put them in the pond or let them use the fire toilet. You have taught me well.....lol

Depends on the death type, but pufferfish nigiri has always been like since it released. I wanna say that if they're sitting at a table when it happens their face goes into the plate which is far more hilarious lol
1. i believe if the person is also in a bad mood, it increases the chances they'll die.
2. i once had my vampire turn her boyfriend. before he changed, he ate bad pufferfish and died.
a couple days later, his ghost called to ask my vamp on a date. she accepted.
he turned while on the date.
and that is how i ended up with a ghoat vampire with a fish floating inside of him
Poor quality Pufferfish only has a 3% of killing a sim, it has extra chance (0.3*6=18%) if they are in bad mood. Given that all your customers also got "Fear of Death" after the first buy (That's why they ran away), they get another *3 multiplier, for a total of 54% chance to kill them, but only if they were in a bad mood.
It's only 0 if the food is impeccable. So, from normal to excellent you still have 0.5% chance of Dying.
You could say the puffer fish is to *Die* for😏

I am surprised you didn't utlise the potion making from the spellcasting stuff. You can add hexes to lots of potions etc with that. Might be fun to give that a shot.

I always use this dish for my sims😂pufferfish nigiri is one of the easiest ways to **unalive** a sim if you marry for money 🙃😏
edit: i'm sorry, pufferfish nigiri should have a 50/50 chance of "success" but the fact that NO ONE died for the majority of the time makes me laugh so much

Sometimes sims don't die immediately from it. I had a sim eat it at a restaurant and die a few hours later at home. 😭

I'm pretty sure the pufferfish death rate also depends on the mood of the sim eating it. If they're in a bad mood, then they're more likely to die. You could see in the conversation icons at the top of the screen that Eric Lewis was tense and Summer Holiday was embarrassed when they each died.

Every time I visited the Landgraabs and they had an infant, they NEVER tended the baby. Plus, the door to the nursery was locked, so I couldn't go feed the child when it was starving. They NEVER did anything, and the infant was always taken away by CPS. That's why *I* hate them.
THAT LADY EVEN CALLS ME FROM THE GRAVE! Literally I don't know HOW she died, but when she called most recently, Her icon was of a GHOST VERSION OF HER!
The way Simsie just puts the tombstones in her inventory *tombstones building up* & also "We've learned you can never have too much of it!" Yeah cause you don't have time, you die after your first portion LOL!
I experience the woman Calling over Infants as well And even when I Decline She calls back Like five Minutes later even her Ghost called me I recommend Just Completely Deleting the Household she's in That Should fix it
I haven't had the infant call from the woman but I had Greg call my sim offering to come help with the baby (there was no baby). Greg's the sim's grandpa, but it was still weird
I keep getting phone calls with job offers. I started accepting and now I just gest free money every time. And my Sims don't ever go to work because I get another call the next day 😂😂
Idk if you have done this, but you should do a challenge where you need to build a house with ONLY base game walls, flooring, landscaping and items, and no debug items.
Oh yeah, one of the things I have found testing pufferfish nigiri is that rotten pufferfish will almost always kill. When in doubt, rotten trout -I mean pufferfish.
i tried doing a dinner party to kill one sim using pufferfish nigiri; i had hoped that if i picked a fight with him and made him angry that he'd die even if the dish was excellent quality...3 whole party platters later there was still no death. i heard that leaving an excellent dish out to spoil would also work, but i haven't tested it. i think single servings are supposed to work best, too; if one serving from a party platter doesnt work then the rest of it won't either. i feel like the chance of death should be much higher than it is.

Yesss I am getting the same glitch where an old woman calls me asking to help with kids that I DONT have. Also every time my sim reads a book they glitch and won’t drop the book. I have to reset them every time
Now it'd be fun to go around gifting Death Flower scented floral arrangements to all the elders. When gifted, they cause the receiver to age up. When given to an elder, they die.
