Another valuable lesson Wayne! You have to be familiar with 12bar blues progressions. Making up a different lick for each chord you’re playing over , then interchanging them in closed positions is a great way to learn to improvise. Then look for common notes and half-steps between the licks as ways to link them up. Then it’s not so obvious you’re changing gears. Wayne is slowly introducing us to the “deep” end of the pool but he’s giving us everything we need to swim.
I assume you are primarily a bluegrass player, but you definitely have the chops to play this stuff full time. I am mostly interested in blues mandolin, and that was a great jazz-blues demo.
Howdy ole mariner, I use a Bluechip TAD 50. You'll find details about that in my "Pickhold" video. Stay tuned for a blues rhythm video soon and thx for requestlng that. Great idea 💡....

Thx for the comment Jack. Everyone should be able to play this blues progression in all keys. The foundation it provides is incredible....

Thank you Stephen. I love Blues too!
Great vid! Two questions, what stiffness pick you use and is it possible to post the strumming rhythm you use? It's pretty damn awesome to me!
