High musical IQ. Well played!
I knew right off it was sam bush.. wasn't familar with that tune because It wasn't the only albim i had if him i bought bqck in the 80s😂
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL ! THANK YOU !
Hey Wayne! Been playing almost two years now and couldn't get the the g chord chop. I thought it was my arthritis and just kept working on stretching. I would get it now and again but it always hurts. I watched this video last night and adjusted my thumb position and voila! Thank you so much.
I'll bet you have some great tips. You might want to keep the music intro a little shorter.
Party time! Excellent!
Ive been playing for like 3 years and just heard of bill monroe. Come to find out my grandpa loved him so hes my new favorite mandolist. Im from just south of lansing Thanks for sharing your talent.
Wayne where did you get that strap for your A model? I’m shopping for one like that. Thanks for the videos
Cool stuff, Wayne! Thanks!
Outstanding!
So Wayne does do tabs😊
Bluegrass Album Band is skinning it back on that album! Damn it boy!! Tony hollers out ! 😂 but… Skaggs’s kickoff on “Bluegrass Rules” is the cat’s meow as well ! Thanks for the channel and all you do Mr Benson! Twas pleasure meeting you in GA few years ago! I was the dude with a broke arm who spoke with you after the show . Down in Dallas Ga at Raccoon Creek
Super helpful and insightful lesson! This unlocks the secret to getting that beautiful ringing sound we all love from the mandolin.
Hey Wayne, Where can I get a strap like you have on that A style?
Nice! Good info. thanks Wayne.
I miss that tucker f5 you had

Hey Wayne! I’m super excited about you teaching bluegrass week at kaufman camp this upcoming year and i can’t wait to meet you! I’ve been watching your videos since i started playing and it’s been a massive help.
Met wayne this past friday night at blazin bluegrass in whitley city, ky. Amazing mandolin player and super great person to talk to loved hearing his story about how he got his first mcclanahan mandolin really cool!
Definitely heard that as an Android ringtone 😂
Girl from Galax?
Super helpful. I used to think I couldn’t play bluegrass. Now I know I can. ❤
I would love to take lessons from you...please check your E mail...thanks Margaret
Hey Wayne - Amazing! Love & thanks!
Hey Wayne, great Channel! My grandfather gave me a Gibson mandolin years ago and it's nice to learn how to finally play it! My question for you is what is the name of your theme song? I love it and I'd love to learn how to play it!
I guess the guys with the bike comments haven't watched any of your other lessons. You have to begin somewhere and we all aren't savants. I've found this exercise very useful. Thank you.
They're referring to the song No Handlebars by the Flobots. It has an arppegiated cadence that this excersize brings to mind. I wasn't familiar with it untill I read these comments and checked it out online.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 sorry, my ignorance is showing. I stand corrected.
I can ride my bike with no handle bars
@@troyhenry6111 gtfoh bro , I beat you to it
@@noahmcabee2534 so?
This is great, Wayne. Thank you!
Thank you Mary Jane!
Thanks Wayne. That's really worth practicing regularly!
You're welcome Gaston! More to come.
Wayne, this has really helped me tremendously. Can do this sort of thing for all the scales? Be happy to purchase it from you too.
I'm so glad to hear that! I'm going to include "eat you vegetables" tab with all of this type of content moving forward. More to come so stay tuned.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 you're the best!
Thanks very much Wayne, another great lesson, David.
Glad you enjoyed it!
idk about that but ....i can ride my bike with no handle bars ,no handle bars, no handle bars
look at me look at me
That song sux
@@joelglanton6531 your mom sucks
Yep. This excersize definitely brings No Handlebars to mind.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 you're not a man of culture
Great to see you back, Wayne. This G-scale exercise is very practical for building muscle memory, and the tab is a great addition! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Also... couldn't help noticing your shirt. Are you selling those???
This is a great excersize for muscle memory and ear training. I've not ventured into the merch selling business yet. One of my students had a handful of these made for me that I use in the videos. Thx for asking.
Thank you Wayne I’ve missed your videos!
You are very welcome!
Awesome! Thank you for all you do Wayne.
You bet!
You're the man Wayne! Thanks so much for another upload!
More to come!
Sounds great Wayne! Could be the new phone but I doubt it
Howdy! You've heard em both in a lot of scenarios pal. Thx for the comment.
Great lesson, Wayne, as always -- and the tab is a helpful addition!
Glad you liked it!
Great stuff!! Thanks
You're welcome Richard.
Can’t see tab without access from you.
Plz try again.
@@waynesworldofmandolin3616 I did, just needed to fix Google issues to get it to work. Glad to se you’re back doing videos. 👍🏻
Good stuff... and a groovy t-shirt!
Thx for your help Brian! See you soon in Skype land.
Appreciate your teaching and explanations. Love the Monel strings. I’ve been playing Curt Mangan Monel strings for years with a 16 A string. Looking forward to more videos. Thanks Wayne.
You're welcome Doug!
Man, I can put all five of my fingers together and they still wouldn’t be as long as one of yours! You are an absolute beast on that mando.
Thank you so much!
Been missing you. I’ll set up a time in fall to get together.
Sounds great Mike! I'll look forward to it.
I have been waiting to hear this! Thanks for sharing Wayne and glad you are enjoying the mandolin!
Thx for the comment Gene. I've played it on the road for the entire last month of gigs.
The yellow/brown mandolin sounds a little sweeter and the red one seems to have a deeper sound to my ears. I wonder what they would sound like cut in half and the two different halves glued together?
Probably would sound about as good as that would look!
Really great channel for us crossing over from guitar! Now I can try and play 12 and 8 bar blues in Key of E using these 3 blues scale patterns for I, IV and V and figure out some turnarounds. Maybe you have a lesson on blues turnarounds?
That's a great idea for a video! I'll add that to the list of topics I hope to cover this winter. Thank you.
Both mandolins sound great (a great driver helps); to me, the red mandolin sounds a little rounder and more focused; the older Stanley sounds more open and traditional; enjoyed the video!
Thx for the comment Brad!
