One of the best how-to videos I've seen. I already have the SATV bumper, nerf bars, etc., so there's no question where I'm going for my winch. I've been wondering what I was going to do with that wired remote, since I prefer to have an illuminated dash-mounted rocker switch. This video answers that question! I love the fact that you include the connectors so we don't have to wind the excess wire into a loop and try to find a place to hide it. Thanks, guys!
Thanks Rick that means a lot. We work hard daily to bring you guys legit install videos along with top notch products! Never hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions about any of our products.
Pro Tip: on the winch mounting plate put the 2 bolts in on the firewall side and leave them very loose, temporarily zip tie the radiator hoses and intercooler hoses out of the way. Take the drivers side shock and bungee cord it up and out of the way as shown in the video. Fish the winch in from drivers side, be patient and take your time, take a break if needed. Bolt the winch to the mounting plate. Then push mounting plate up and install 2 front bolts and then tighten all 4 mounting bolts. Dont forget to fish the winch cable through fairlead before installing winch on mounting plate. I can verify that the 5000 lb winch fits on superatv mounting plate on a 2018 RZR 4 Turbo 4.
Great detailed videos really appreciated it.. wouldn't it be okay to disconnect the negative cable off the battery so the regular do-it-yourselfer won't short-circuit anyting.
For wiring up the toggle switch, mine was different. So for those of you that the colors aren’t what this guy says coming from the solenoid. Mine were black, red and green. You hook up the keyed on power like he said and have your two jumpers coming off of it. The ground wire from the bus bar goes to the top (#7) then the order is black, red then the bottom is green.
Great Video. I installed my SuperATV Winch with rocker switch with no problems, due to this video. Thank you. Just a heads up you do not need to take your Tire, or Shock, but it would help. :) A+
Hey Bill, Thanks for tuning in! The part number for the rocker switch is WN-RSK-D. Here's a link to it on our website: www.superatv.com/winch-rocker-switch-replacement?sku=WN-RSK-D
Hey guys, great videos!! I have a need to put a winch on the front & a trailer ball type hitch on the rear of my yami660R and wasnt having any luck online, so i thought i would pick ur brains!! Lol
Super ATV where can I get the connecting bumpers, rock sliders and rear bumper like you have on this machine? I called and your service rep stated you don't sell this?
On the 2018 XP4 Turbo, how the heck do you get the front two mounting plate nuts tight? This isn’t shown in the video. Either you need Smurf hands or a wrench that goes through walls.
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Nikolas Adrien I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
After further looking into It i found that the solenoid was made for a 19+ model rzr. So i will have to drill holes for it to work instead of using the pre made holes
This install is on an older version of our winch. We no longer carry the y splitter, but we do have the new solenoid kit. Give us a call at 855.743.3427 and we can help you get everything you need to update your wiring to the new style.
Dutch B False, that definitely isn’t the M12 Milwaukee Looks like the Mac Or Snap On impact (they look much cheaper and basic) But I’d buy the Milwaukee over Mac or Snap on personally
Used this video and the other for the 4500lb install here: (th-cam.com/video/ixbbNPpVukA/w-d-xo.html) to install the 4500lb winch in my 2014 RZR XP. Installing the physical winch with the mounting plate was the easy part.. I did not remove the shocks or tire.. just worked around it. Took about 20 minutes. The wiring will consume quite a bit more time. The gauge wire that comes with the winch is much larger than the wire feeding the bus bar they tap into in the video. Did not make sense to me to do it that way and possibly overload that circuit. Had to remove drivers seat and center console. I ran the hot and ground wire all the way to the battery and installed a 250A circuit breaker in the battery box on the hot lead. The docs that came with the winch indicate it can pull up to 264A or so. The cables that came with the winch were plenty long enough with a nice service loop to make the pull through the center console. Only other issue was the solenoid that came with my winch seems to have incorporated the wireless receiver(there is no separate box now) and is much larger than the original unit. As such.. does not align with the stock mounting holes on the firewall any more & the mounting hardware that come with the winch are too small for the firewall lugs anyway. I used one of the original holes with the correct size hardware and drilled another through hole to accommodate a screw with a self locking nut on the other side. My winch came with the dash mounted rocker switch and remote only. Both work as intended. I installed one of their front bumpers at the same time which added to the overall time. If you are considering both.. do it at the same time to avoid having to R&R a lot of the same hardware. Overall satisfied with install and quality of the parts.
It matches the OEM grill pattern while also allowing you still to mount up a front bumper. We appreciate your feedback. It's hard to please everyone, everyone has different style preferences.
SuperATVMedia There was a 2+ inch awkward gap at the op of the plate. Looks like something that found in the scrap pile and someone said meh close enough
I just won this same winch from the Sand Show in Costa Mesa.... Thank you! Now time to install it...

Did you have to remove the front plastics (or anything not shown) to get to the front mounting plate bolts?
Just finished installing my black ops winch. This video was very helpful. Thank you.

Thank you for making videos that are idiot proof. Many times professionals with a lot of experience assume I know things I don't. Great videos.
Thanks for the kind words, we go into the shoot with the mindset to not assume you know anything and show all steps required to get the job done :).

Can you post a picture of yours
@@richardpoehnelt3090 if I can figure out how to upload a picture I will
@@dbceaj4279 thanks Dustin. Just take a picture with your phone.
Nice video, very detailed. One question where did you get the lift for your sidexside. Thanks
The lift in the video is a Forward midsize lift.
Great Video. I installed my SuperATV Winch with rocker switch with no problems, due to this video. Thank you. Just a heads up you do not need to take your Tire, or Shock, but it would help. :) A+
2015 rzr xp1000, 3500.
Got everything hooked up correctly and straight to the battery, but no power to anything.
Are you using the remote or the hardwired switch? Is the red wire in the hardwired switch harness connected per the instructions?
Great video, thx. One question what is the part number for the rocker switch?
Hey Bill, Thanks for tuning in! The part number for the rocker switch is WN-RSK-D. Here's a link to it on our website: www.superatv.com/winch-rocker-switch-replacement?sku=WN-RSK-D
The rocker switch is lit up at all times right? not just when you push In or Out?
Just a question, when mounting the winch to the plate wouldn't you want locktite?
You can if you'd like!
You're an awesome young man
Thanks for the kind words! We will relay the message to Braden 😎

Well this install cover a 2022 RZR trail ultimate?

@Nikolas Adrien It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my ass!
@Bryce Jaxon No problem xD
The solenoid that came with my 4500 winch is not the same as that one. So it does not fit in the pre made holes.
After further looking into
It i found that the solenoid was made for a 19+ model rzr. So i will have to drill holes for it to work instead of using the pre made holes
Awesome video, Thx!
Nice video, sort of wish the hood didn't block the other side you were feeding wires through, rather look at what you are doing on other side bro.
Sorry about that. Thanks for the feedback.
I GOT A 2017 & 5000 LB. & THIS VIDEO DOES NOT WORK FOR MY MACHINE.
Do you have a part number for the Y splitter?

Would this kit fit in on a 2016 Polaris rzr s1000 ?
Is this mount universal?or made specifically for one winch?
Wat kind of battery impact is the one u use. To remove the spring
It's a Milwaukee 12 volt impact with a protective cover
Dutch B
False, that definitely isn’t the M12 Milwaukee
Looks like the Mac Or Snap On impact (they look much cheaper and basic)
But I’d buy the Milwaukee over Mac or Snap on personally
Need to update this. The new ssolenoid is bigger than fuck. And the terminals are blocking the mounting hole. It’s bull shit
Anyone know what jack system he's using?
Cool

That grille piece needs to be redesigned to look better it’s a fail
