      That's a terrible starter bike. It's a scooter shaped like a motorcycle and doesn't teach you much at all about riding a motorcycle. It's a toy, not a first motorcycle.

    I own 2 groms and a navi. Grom 3rd hens are better than the navi. You still have to have a motorcycle license to ride the navi. And at max 45-50 mph it’s not bad. It’s super cheap controls and dash compared to the grom. Grom will do 60 mph and gets there faster. The main issues are can you do a clutch? How much money do you have? And what speeds will you be doing most in your area? Navi is 1/2 the cost of a grom. Is slower and get up to speed slower. And for newbies no clutch is a plus but you have to have your motorcycle license still. So up to you.

    I picked the Navi for 3 reasons, as I live in a downtown area. 1. No shifting 2. Fuel economy 3. Crazy storage. Not to mention that, for a slow bike once at speed, it's 0-30 acceleration is shockingly punchy pretty much for most rider sizes. I'm 245lbs, and it takes off and runs right up to 30 before I know it. I think, with acceleration, the weight of the rider really comes into play once you pass 40- 45 mph. Before that though, it hardly seems to matter. I probably need to be at 50 mph less than 5% of the time. It may not be a 'fast' bike. But for my purposes it's absolutely a quick one. I see some downing the Navi because it's technically a scooter but you still need a motorcyclist license. Not sure about everyone else's states, but Maryland has a fast track program for people they know damn well have been riding for a bit, and aren't licensed. You can show up and take the knowledge and skills test same day.

    Thanks for the vlog!. I bought this ABS Grom in April, I am not gonna put any mods on it - way too expensive for the little gain. I think I may sell it and get a kawasaki klx 300 SM as I miss the easy of being able to get on the interstate vs the Grom. Probably best to call the Navi/GROM "minibike" vs "bike" as it is not meant to be a regular sized motorcycle to go 60 MPH. I had an 798 cc motorcycle before the GROM & this minibike has potential to be more deadly at higher speeds imo on busy streets as the steering is not too forgiving, esp if u hit even small bump. Both these minibikes are made very well. Honda does a great job! Reply TID to this comment if u want me to (take it down) peace!

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh for sure! These minimotos are definitely not ment for interstate travel. Having owned 3 supermotos they are blast. The klx 300 sm looks like a really fun bike! We had a crf250l supermoto conversion and now have the crf450l and xr650l both supermoto conversion. They are a blast in the twisties! To be honest I dont know if the klx 300 SM will excel at interstate travel. Definitely will have the speed but will be pegging it out pretty far for extended periods of time. Tht being said overall its a excellent choice. Heres a video I thought you might find helpful and brings up some good points on the klx 300 but dont be Swede as his vids tend to be negative.
      th-cam.com/video/wVbUCDqvPoo/w-d-xo.html
      He is pretty negative on the bike but i still think its a killer bike. Much better for riding in group with bikes, better made than the drz 400 and fuel injected. If you do decide to make the switch supermotos do hold their value quite well! Appreciate you watching and hope you find the right bike for you!

    • @inseasonandoutofseason
      @inseasonandoutofseason ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Floatsorrolls1 Thanks for your reply, I have watched a lot of videos on the klx 300, it wouldnt be my first choice, but the DRZ seat height is 36, klx is like 35, im only 5 7 a nd i need a lighter bike these days. I absolutely love the DRZ though, but no way i could get it to sag for it to work plus the price tag is ridiculous in comparison. I only meant "POP" onto the interstate vs ride all day long....i mainly in town, just sometimes its nice to "pop" on for the next exits. HA HA, the GROM - I knew when I traded for it I wouldnt be able - but, now I'm missing that option.

    In your honest opinion, do you find that the Yosh exhaust and DHM tune offered enough of a performance boost to justify the cost of those items?

    • @Floatsorrolls1
      @Floatsorrolls1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would definitely do it again but its hard to say. My goal with the bike is having something zippy enough to get around and fun to go through twisties. It definitely helped but honestly comparable to the gains of swapping to a 14th front sprocket. That is the best bang for your buck on this bike. I experienced no loss in top speed and big boost in acceleration. For me if your going for performance alone i wouldn’t justify the cost. Its was noticeable but not night and day like some of the bigger toys. I like the looks of the yoshi and just want something really nice since i know im keep the bike a long time. Honestly unless your going big bore or something extreme the power gains arent huge for this bike. With huge gains like big bore kits you definitely jeopardize reliability from what ive seen on forums. That why i did just intake, tune and exhaust. Keep it near stock reliability while getting the most out the stock motor. A cheaper exhaust can perform just as well but if your content with the power of the bike and going for power alone id say save your money. Hope this helps out my friend🤘🏼😎 let me know if yah got any other questions!

  • @edgarcastro4421
    @edgarcastro4421 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I would say sure the groms quality is nicer than the navi, however the performance is not twice the price nicer (it only goes 5-10mph faster). Especially since the groms price tag is approaching full size used bikes with much more to offer. In my opinion with all things considered the Navi is the most sensible pick.

      @@hupomeno9035 acceleration will be slow out the gate stock and to quiet to be noticed moving in traffic(as a safety concern in my opinion). Definitely would need a exhaust to be heard for riding in traffic. Intake will help improve acceleration too. 220 isn’t heavy for this bike but will affect acceleration. If its only 10miles mostly flat i think it’d be a perfect cheap toy to do small commutes like this. Flat ground acceleration should be fine on 45mph roads but if its hilly it might lead to people tailgating. The acceleration with just the intake was pretty good with me on it on our 45mph main road that had lots of stop lights( was perfect) but the hilly backroads of 45mph around me the bike just doesnt have the pick up since people like to do more than speed limit. If its flat roads navi can hang if its pretty hilly you take the risk of people coming up on you. Make sure you have a goood lock and or a safe place to store it because these things get stolen like hotcakes. Its crazy how many ive seen reported stolen. I think if you appreciate any sort of power and dont see huge advantage in the storage box long term you’d be happier with a grom. More power stock than the navi will have not matter what mods you throw at it. More stuff you can do to it and if your looking to get possibly a bigger bike down the road it drive much more like a motorcycle. Wont be a worry about keeping up with traffic too. Both are cool and hold their value great but would personally feel more comfortable in traffic on a grom. Having power is nice when u need it to get around someone. It your not interested in upgrading one day to a big bike and like no shifting i think either option would suit your needs as long as navi is modded and terrain is mostly flat🤘🏼😎

Once on I was fine. I take the grom to run quick tasks and when i just wanna put around. If i had one bike maybe id say otherwise but for my use case i have zero desire for more power or anything else to replace it. If its your only bike and plan on riding with others that have bigger bikes than a grom might not be as fun.
