i like how you went over the downsides thoroughly. many other channels just go over how great every class is and dont really give too much insight as to the troubles you might face playing a certain class.
Enhance/ ele shaman lvling should be fine. mana totem, self heals ... recycle.... no need for food / water.... just gotta make sure to do the totem quests =)
@@zigzagkill8153 true and earthbind totem is essential for enhancement. npcs attack faster than your 2h but with earthbind you can kite them and exchange a hit for a hit.

At first I thought, man feeding someone else's dps sucks, however, raiding was all about completion and the raw "oh fuck yes we did it!" feeling. I'm cool with fuckin up a boss as a whole and not being top dps
Man, ive seen any "witch class should i pick" videos, and this is the f*cking first i agree nearly all words in this. 10/10 work mate. And the best thing i understand nearly all words without youtube help with my poor English, how u talk i just understand without any problem. really rare :D
What to expect from each class. Warrior: You're gear starved all the time, unless you pickup blacksmithing and go through tedium of farming 1500 mithril and 2400 thorium. Up until about lvl30 every 5th swing with your weapon is a miss. If you want to make it easier for yourself tanking get the talent tactical mastery and then you charge and change to defensive stance and keep your rage, quite handy for the first dungeons. You'll be wanted all the time for tanking. Finding a raid guild you can both dps and tank. Most seasoned, hardcore guilds usually have dedicated (no life) officers who play the tanks, so even if you want to tank at lvl60 it is more of a chance really you're going to dps. Rogue: Levelling, you'll struggle to take down three mobs up until about lvl40. As for raid openings, its going to be as always the most played class so you're going to see some competition getting into raid groups as well as getting the pre-raid gear as most come from the lvl60 dungeons and 10-man raid. People usually play rogues for pvp servers so they can grief people levelling in redridge. Druid: Level with feral is very easy and with entangling roots you can solo several outside elites on your own. You should spec feral instinct first in the feral talent tree, it increases your threat and bear is a very viable tank in vanilla. For raids you will be mostly expected to heal. Some goofy guilds will take you in as a bear tank, but most just have ferals for dps. Boomkin is even more rare to see in raids. Hunter: Easiest character to level. You can kite dead elite mobs. You've got a very strong pet, spec beastmastery and you can kill most classes just by sending your pet on them up until lvl60. In raids there's always a slot for a few hunters as most bosses uses enrage and hunters gets a skill that dispels that. All around a nice utility dps class. AoE, slowing traps and average but well sustained ranged dps. Mage: Once you're mid level 20's you can just start AoE levelling. Welcomed in every group for sheep and as a vending machine. The most viable spec is frost as its needed for the whole AoE levelling. You can go fire tho most people will wonder why. Probably the second most played class for pvp after rogue. As you can sheep players for all eternity you can grief lowbies by sheeping them for 5 minutes until they log out and whisper they reported you to gm. Paladins: High survivability during levelling. You got close to no burst whatsoever and most classes dont really care for you in pvp as they can run away from you, sheep/fear/mana burn/disarm/vanish and reengage you. You can tank in dungeons but most people choose not to have palas tank because they have to drink in between every other fight. In raids you will be expected to heal, but there are also a few slots for retri paladins. Most are expected to have the axe Nightfall which can proc a debuff that increases spell damage on the target. Priest: You just spec for 20% wand dmg and your levelling will be shadow word pain+renew+wand till its dead. You will receive whispers from people wanting you to heal in dungeons. No problem getting in raids. If you're new to vanilla healing, remember to use lower ranks of your heal spell and not always the highest rank as it will overheal your target and consume too much mana. Holy is fully viable in pvp, play it well and you can even use your staff to take down people. There's always a few slots for shadow priests in raid groups as well for their shadow dmg increase debuff. The warlocks best friend. Warlock: This class is fun as hell as at lvl50 you will get an infernal which you can let loose and it will attack players of your own faction. So either you go and release it in goldshire and see it kill all lowbies or you can put it outside the gate where the new undead players exit their starting zone and see them cry and die. Soulstones for ressurection in the event of wipe in dungeon, healthstones (free hp potion) and people will actually whisper you and ask you to summon them. Your dps will be in the top in raids together with mages. You are highly wanted as warlocks are one of the classes not that many play up to level 60 and when people start out raiding a few warlocks is absolutely necessary for their crowd control. Shaman: Enhancement is fun, you got a lot of dps but you're also a glass cannon, probably the most viable if not the only levelling spec. You can still gather some cloth or leather with intellect stats and change into that and heal in dungeons up to about mid level 40s. In raids you're mostly expected to heal, but enchancement dps is not that rare to see. Their class quests are really boring. Their main purpose is really just dropping nature and fire resist totems.
Started playing in BC before BT dropped and always played a Warlock, including on vanilla private servers within the past year. Personally I think they deserved a 5/5 Spongebabs for levelling due to their ability to deal with multiple targets at a time. Dot 2 targets, pet tank one, fear juggle the other. Done properly and with some judicious life drain/tap, you have little downtime between pulls. If you're feeling adventurous enough, you dot three, pet tank one, juggle another and wand/drain the third.
I spent what felt like a million hours in WSG. Thunderhorn server Druid named Desperado. (I NEED to get that name again).. With a even half decent premade WSG group and a skilled and geared druid. Games last less than 10 min. Unstoppable. Druid pvp set gives cheetah form the speed of a mount with no cast time. If you can get outside with the flag its all over but the crying for the other team. I hate/miss those endless hours of making figure 8's on WSG.
@@LhasaThailand no one will remember in 100 days. Also, I most likely won't get it. I only got it before because I made that too about two hours after launch of vanilla.
this was the video that we can tell you hit your groove in making content. your script is set, editing is clean, and a level vocal tone/demeanor. It is the start the "meme of the day" videos.
@David Olsson I want to enjoy classic at my own pace, heck, I also plan on waiting a week or two after launch to avoid the rush and the streamer servers.

i would say the same...but i thought about it. i realized that it isn't any harder now that i've seen this video. im just gaining more knowledge. my brain is growing in size. this decision is gonna come to fruition like a zit. just growing to a head. and BAM. i make a warrior just like when i started the game years ago. i had no choice.
Good video... I played warrior myself in classic and might make a return to that. Too bad I won't have my old gear ready for me at launch and have to redo it all. For what he said regarding fire mages and dps on Loatheb, check out my guilds Loatheb kill from a fire mage point of view: th-cam.com/video/Wu7O62A8EkQ/w-d-xo.html
I don't know what he's talking about with druids leveling fast. That was absolutely not the case in vanilla. I leveled a druid in vanilla and it was horrible. Feral was great for 1-30 but capped out and the dps actually went down with mobs having more armor and evasion. If that is WoW Classic or Private Servers it's not authentic.
Love the contrast between talking about Arms pvp--"the kings, I repeat, the kings!!!" and then all the energy getting sucked out of the room when he talks about the warrior leveling process
I played through most of Vanilla as a hunter, gave it up when TBC launched as I disliked the direction the class had went in. Regardless, I still have very fond memories of chain-pulling mobs for my guilds tanks through raids, kiting all the dragonkin on Razorgore (as well as a bunch of other encounters), and generally showing off! Hunters used to get a lot of flack back then for the 'hunter loot' thing and the fact a lot of uhh... 'lower skilled' players picked them up. Easy to play but hard to master in my experience, still very tempted to roll one for classic, although I'm leaning toward Rogue at the moment.
One thing extra that ret pally, dps shammy and spriests have going for them. They are a resto druids best friend in dungeouns since they bring an extra rezz.
Ive had my hunter since the early days still my main, second is druid, i still use both and have allot of fun with, havnt gotten too far in classic yet with my paladin, i miss the golden days of wow good times
About ret, the nost core code has it wrong.(hear me out this is actually new info) Nano, one of the nost devs outright said that there was very little information about how holy damage really worked in PVE and even less information about ret paladins specifically. For example the lead class designer who essentially built all of the classes recently said in an interview that the whole idea behind holy damage was that it is the only form of damage that can’t be resisted, but if you look at gameplay From nost/Elysium/LH you can see some mobs partially resisting/resisting holy damage. So right off the bat all of the information we have about ret pally DPS over the past few years is completely wrong. Yea they are still going to be heavily reliant on consumables but the DPS numbers we have are completely wrong.
@@dustyhombre the resists of holy dmg dont come from a resistance but the higher level of the mob/boss. you need like all other spelldmg classes spellhit to increase the succes of holy dmg. good luck getting this stat high on a melee char. (complete poorly classdesign. they needed a lot of patches and remakes to make retri viable in my opinion - like the fusion of hit and spellhit in WOTLK)
Think its important to note that as shadow priest you can spec for 50% increased dmg with wand. Which is really good for mana control while leveling, and also a decent filler ability if you happen to go oom during raids :)
leveling is DEFINITELY 5 stars for locks. Voidwalker tank and dotting everything was great. Plus SSing yourself and healthstones plus draon life makes everything easy. Plus through talents they get a shit ton of stamina.
I did Rogue, Mage, Paladin as my main(s) during vanilla. Had lots of fun! With that being said, I think this time Hunter is going to be my main due to time constraints from family and work life.
@@27Zangle That's how I feel. I did Mage and Shaman mostly. Hunter feels like levelling could be less stressful, with some fun RP elements with pets, possible raid material and even solo class quests at 60.
@@fadence - I agree. Personally, I am looking forward to playing around and developing a story for my character. Every single character has a back story whether they were on a RP server or not. Honestly, I would love to RP an undead priest.
Play an arcane mage in raid and never have to worry about downranking spells ever again. 16 seconds without spending mana. While continuously casting. Sweet sweet value on that "useless" spirit gear no one wants. Also improved amplify magic rocks. Free spellpower for every healer !
@@ksherman51 Arcane Missile spends mana when you click. When arcane missile triggers Clearcast, you continue with arcane missile. So that's 10 seconds of casting without spending mana. Follow with a pyroblast that spends mana on cast (which means 6 seconds later). So yeah. That's 11 seconds of full regen for every clearcast. However, I did exagerate a bit. Even though Arcane Missile is a bit less expensive (in mana per second) than fireball, your will probably need to downrank it a bit even taking into consideration this trick. I didn't play Vanilla. But I used a similar trick in BC and shocked a fair amount of mage officers in my time. If I play a mage, I will definitely play arcane. I like the old slow arcane missiles. And PoM Sheep is always welcomed in dungeons.
@@alphapolimeris- AM does not have the DPS to compete in Vanilla. If you spec into Arcane, it's because you're casting frostbolts or fireballs with a different set of cooldowns.
@@smallpseudonym2844 AM has ok numbers, but it has two big issue really: the fact that it only gets 100% of spellpower even though it's a 5 second spell, and the fact that interrupting it to move/decurse is crippling your mana efficiency. During T1 and dungeons, it should be fine due to low spellpower, easier mechanics and low flask usage. But later, yeah... If you want to push as hard as you can, I don't think anything can beat a well built frostbolt spam.
@@alphapolimeris when mages are out of MC, Onyxia and BWL, they can unleash the full potential of fire spec and just kick ass with monumental dots after crits, and a whopping +15% flat buff to all their damage after stacking scorch. At this point the question is not "will I top the DPS chart", but "Will the tanks be able to keep aggro away from me"
doesn't matter, just do unorthodox builds for everything. i had so much fun back then trying to do quirky builds on every class. like PVP based hunter with high melee output to help deal with warriors and the like. (now, i can't actually remember how it held up to be fair, but i do remember it at least being decent enough, i had fun.) or that time i did a near suicidal warlock build with a mate that tanked, IIRC you could do rain of fire or something like that as well as hellfire at the same time, mate would just pull a bunch of mobs while i went mental on aoe, one (or both?) of which damaged me aswell. actually, that might've just been standard warlock now that i think of it... fuck if i remember
I mained a hunter, it was my first and only 60 until wotlk. You nailed it but forgot to mention that we're a huge pain for the most played class in vanilla, rogues. I can't tell you how many rogues would rage at me. Also back in the days when hunters used mana, all gear was "hunter gear" 😂
You make a lot of good points about rolling hunter, and I can certainly relate to not having as much time to play as I used to. From my experience in a progression guild back in vanilla, hunters and druids were the fastest to gear up followed by priests who were funneled basically everything, even more than the main tank. I think this time around, however, the classic meta will have more to do with private servers. It'd be easy to just "play what I want" but I think meta-gaming and predicting which classes will be over- and under-populated based on private servers will lead to a better time. For example, the most sought-after class for raids is actually resto shaman. 8 shamans per raid, 20% of the raid blue bar bois, while they're usually about 10% of Horde characters. I think I'm rolling shaman.
@@100plusRG there are fewer hunters on private servers because the meta is that they "fall off" and aren't in huge demand for raids. Warlocks are the opposite, I think they'll be over-populated this time around because people know how good they are with leveling, PvE and PvP, even without respeccing. Priest is just always a good choice but you will need to compete with caster dps for loot. If I were you I'd go hunter unless you really like healing, in which case, priest.
Mages do get to 60 faster than the others. If they don't level alone or have superhuman concentration because there's nothing easier than dying trying to AOE grind. And don't forget to drink after every single fight.
I feel you forgot to mention the hunter-specific quest for the bow & staff. That quest is a fond memory of mine, loved that you had to solo a bunch of bosses and stuff. Great vid!
I keep thinking my mind is made, but it changes every couple of days -_- Warrior, priest or hunter is what I think I have narrowed it down to. You would think it would be as simple as Tank, heal or dps in this situation lol
@RobGov ahh that sucks i'm currently in a 8000 positions queue just to reserve one character on a pvp server i'll play on a pve server on launch because i'll get triggered too much by the gankers xD
Your videos are PHENOMENAL!!! Well done! Sub for life here. Thanks for the hard work, because I know these videos aren’t easy to make and take a lot of time, especially when they’re this professionally done.
once druid - always druid. not strongest in anything ... but hands down has the most variety in possible playstyles and (outside of raids) can do emergency role switches. also being able to sneak while covering any role not just dd is just plain AWESOME. btw. speccing deeper than usual into balance and combining the -9% mana cost, crit= -.5seconds next cast and the +x% crit on regrowth talents allows for a different playstyle than the usual healing touch druid. played right you can cover the raid nicely for extended periods on time with high level rejuvs, delivering a solid healing baseline while also being able to turn into a crazy burst powerhouse in tight spots for short periods of time. that specc served me very well in vanilla even in naxx.
@@Nick3618W not sure about the gear at the beginning of naxx tbh - too long ago (god i am getting old ...). sorry. i picked up the aq40 set but i found everything after T2 ugly as hell ... never wanted to run around looking like an exploded bug ... talent wise i found my old sheets so i can share. i went with this back then (and plan to do so again): classicdb.ch/?talent#0x0xcMxsZZxVcscVM it worked very well, all be it in a specialized role for stable continuous base line healing with very nice flash-heal like bursts for emergencies that continue ticking afterwards. of course you have to go full on crit gear with this and in a dedicated high end raid you will not be allowed to play around with talents the way i did most likely. i was pretty active back then and so was my raid but we were not top notch. even then it took me quite some convincing to get the go for this and several raids with statistics analyzed before the leader team acknowledged it is a viable spec that delivered on par with the other druids and was beneficial for our group.
@@mrfluffyhedgehog - Thanks for sharing the build! Looks like it's also unique in the way that it actually has some offensive talents unlike traditional pure healers. Also, spamming healing touch must be really disappointing. Like paladin spamming flash of light. Especially when druids have such great heal over time utilities!
@@Nick3618W honestly that was part of the original motivation to try this ... i got royally sick and tired of having to farm for 3-4 raid nights a week in a pure heal spec :P
I actually leveled from 54 to 60 doing only aoe dm pulls and the same time got the gold for a 100% mount. Everytime I did the dm 5 times and got locked out, I played my alt. Was so efficient to HS to Feralas and get rested aswell!
For those wanting to main a Ret paladin in raids like I do, yes he is right we need to do the extra leg work. Un’Goro has crystals to do extra dmg, healing, armor + & -, spirit, and ‘thorns’. Also has the stouts for scrolls and winter spring for the ekos for strength and intellect. My guild loves having me as the only rest pally though is for the utility I bring with my cleanse, removes poisons, diseases, and magical effects such as fears in most raid fights
We are the selfless class. You will never reach max dps, warriors will out tank you by far. We have healing but I leave that for the clothies... no disrespect I know it is a hard job. But we can do so much more
As an ex Vanilla rank 13 feral I came into this video expecting another feral ignore bit you did the opposite! Thank you!! I used to be a KING in pvp and especially WSG. I used to play without NS and go full ferocious bite spec for some 4k fercious bites but we're still the same family:)
If i ever decided to go back to the vanilla days, it would be a Paladin all over again. PVE and PVP healing was just so amazing on a Paladin. Watching melee classes try to kill you as they killed themselves while you shockadin'd them to death was so rewarding.
I'm a huge vanilla veteran and have played the same class on every private server I've played and have no plans of changing, so the answer is obvious, I'm going Blood Elf Death Knight! Can't wait for August 27th!
Between Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Shaman. Warriors and Rogues seem overpopulated but I’d love to play them, getting gear would be a hassle and leveling would be rough though. I’d love to play Shaman, hybrid specs are so useful in Vanilla, the class has an awesome fantasy as well. But I think I’ll be going Hunter, as you said getting gear should be easier and they’re a good option for players who won’t be able to dedicate as much time as others. I too enjoy the rotation of lining up your auto shots. I always enjoy being the bow and arrow class, it only makes sense to go Hunter!
Hybrid classes were ultra redundant in vanilla.. Like really. Hey Pals, can you buff everyone every 5 minutes but other tban that please fuck off 🤣 game wasnt built for hybrid at all
The first character I ever made was a hunter. You talking about the zombies in Nax and distracting shot and stuff really brought back memories of my raiding days. Good times.
I'm going for a walock... didn't like the lock breakdown, he made the class look trash while it has a lot of pros he didn't even mention like curse of shadow elements and reklessness, summoning, shadowbolt debuff...and the dps isn't that bad either, you can topmeter before naxx if you invest in consumables... The lore, the quests the SOULHARVESTRR and the class identity which make the class even cooler and unique.
Warlocks were indeed VERY strong, and you needed their debuffs. In PvP, as well, I remember watching warlocks two shot people with shadow bolt. That was just goofy to me!
@@Rainbow_Painbow yep curse of element alone is like 8% of mages totale dps. 8% more frost/fire dmg depends on a single button press from the lock it is assigned to :D Edit 10% at rank 2 :P
Hmm so if I'm looking for a class with the most fun leveling /world pvp experience--what do I go? Note that I have played a lot of rogue before so I might want to try something different.
For me, it's a little tough to choose what's going to be my main. Got three in line, Shammy, Mage, and Hunter. I only played TBC and forward. Does where my classes for TBC end game, but mainly played Mage. I nuked and had a huge blast getting each pvp piece with the tokens. felt so GOOD and well earned to get each one of em. time will tell which one after each run I make that I will make that choice. I honestly can not wait to play V WoW.
I was a horde warrior at launch and carried him all the way until I quit the game a couple of years ago. I'll probably just go Alliance Hunter and not worry about raiding.
" He who hesitates is lost" - Wise warrior :-D Agree on the intensity of the war keyboard mashing style, as well as a totally unique and fun style . Charging into battle, the tactical playstyle, etc. Rough at pvp at 60 until top gear though... can have a blast when leveling in BGs though Tank wise , Ive run it in all expansions more or less. But In classic/vanilla, war tanks are REALLY barebones and require the attributes you point out. I felt much better as a warrior tank in BC than Classic. Still, its a totally unique experience
2.5 sponges on shaman leveling is ridiculous. Shaman leveling is superb since shamans dont need gear with their inbound Attack power in their weapon buffs, having strong defense, selfheal and instant dmg.
I doesnt realy know why but other than heal. It feels like he hates shamans XD Enhas are way better in any melee group. And if you know the totem twisting, u got guaranteed place.
Btw, imo BC was the best for locks, especially in PvP. Spam seed of corruption quickly tabbing groups in AV was insane!! I would always top the damage charts in AV from SoC alone.
Our warrior tank, his keyboard clicking would bleed through his mic, it was funny because as the fight got more hectic his clicking got faster. We would laugh at him, like dude how many keyboards you go through a week? lol
Hey man, real nice vid, been playing wow since ver 1.4, and I still found your video very interesting, watched the whole thing! Very entertaining too, keep up the good work.
@@YoYo-vc1os no its cause the overall game was still similar to vanilla, the game wasn't ruined and lots of things were added to the game such as abilities which made classes feel more fun to play and added more skill to the game etc.
Writing on September 22, 2019, mages seemed to be everywhere. By far the most popular class, at least that is my anecdotal opinion. Warlocks too seem more in abundance then I would have suspected. I suspect the ease in levelling them is likely the reason. Expect their numbers to taper off as the game matures.
Theres a lot not said in this video. If you're a normie (dedicated but not a nerd king) rogues are not the best. You want to play for for the late game, go for warrior or shaman. Warlocks are super strong from bwl.
@@Muddyowns go shaman bro. Healing is essential in raids and is actually pretty fun. It's a game against other healers to see who heals the most without overhealing. It's not just mindless button mashing, theres actually some skill. Also.. if you go shaman, you are eligible for hand of ragnaros if you find a proper guild to prioritize you for it. Shaman is super fun. Purge is overpowered in pvp. Theres also room for a shaman in every dungeon group too so more chances for loot.
I still have my original hunter from Vanilla that I play today on BFA! So it makes me not want to choose Hunter class, even though I'll be playing casually. This video did help me though, I think I'm going to go Undead mage or warlock.
Has Blizzard said anything about the End Game PvE viability of different specs of hybrid classes in WoW Classic? In Vanilla, Druids, Paladins and Shamans were just healers, mostly because their itemization sucked for the non-heal specializations... Have they said anything about their plans of fixing this? Are the non-healing specs going to be viable in PvE??
Really?? Wow, then I see a lot of bullshit class reviews on YT... "Druid, the perfect jack-of-all-trades, you can be a tank, melee-dps, ranged dps or healer!" Unless you want to do end-game raiding then your a healer..... YT class reviews are a joke if Blizzard announced that hybrid itemization isn't changing because none of them mention that all hybrids are just healers at end-game...
I remember I was one of a few PvE Ret paladins on the server. I had to work my ass off and drink potions on c/d in raids, but it was fun and I sometimes was in top damage ranks when rogues and hunters were slacking. Good times.
just one thing on druids. in Naxx at Patchwerk as alliance, it really helps having a feral tank (an aq40 + 2-3 parts from bwl geared tank) because they usualyl have a larger hea;th pool than warriors and they dodge more :D so it makes it a lot easier for the slow casting spells to synch. The gear is pretty rare but if you have one, patchwerk becomes almost 3 times easier xd
I remember raiding MC, BWL, AQ and Naxxramas. And the disappointment of 30-37 (since we rarely got a full raid for the raids) people clamoring through Teamspeak 2 (yes, we used something THAT ancient) because the bosses were dropping yet another hunter gear, is still haunting me. Raid after raid, week after week,.... *trembling with horror*

Any specific realm or server I should join or stay away from? Any help would be appreciated ladies and gentlemen please and thank you 🙏
Great video overall, but disagree with your opinion on enhancement Shamans pvp. Mained as Shaman in Vanilla, and pvp'ed alot both with enhancement and elemental. On enhancement the only classes that could even put up a fight was shadow priests and warlocks due to their instant cast damage and crowd control abilities, and good geared warriors due to their resistance to your melee dmg. Decent armor, good spell damage, and insane melee damage with proccs that occured often, spell interrupt, slow and ignite abilities that you even got a reduced cd on from the enhancement tree was amazing. An instant big heal on top of this was almost unfair, and if this wasn't enough to keep you alive, you could ress yourself instantly. When you on top of all this purged away the really important buffs, especially from casters, you could be a big pain. Ghost wolf was also useful for those trying to run :D
@@randyhoughtaling5465 Go check out Unbreakable Sulfuras Shaman on youtube if you haven't allready :D Ofc it's heavily edited, and he's got the best wep for the specc, but still showcase the mechanics well. Windfury or flurry procced in most encounters, but when the stars aligned with a windfury procc on stormstrike and then flurry, even prot warriors went down immediatly. Really loved the gameplay, and the enjoyment of a windfury in someones face :D
@@johnhandcock3242 Ofc it's edited, just like all wow pvp vids on youtube. Yes elemental is a bit stronger, especially if you don't have good gear, But enhancement is solid with good gear. Classic is before windfury was nerfed to half it's effect (and still being ok), I had a 20% chance to procc it. It gave the damage of 2 extra strikes with +811 att power (My base attack power was just over 400 I think) so 1200 attackpower on 2 extra strikes with a big 2 hander and you don't have to wait for the animation, and 20% is a decent chance for a procc. But yes ofcourse Elemental is more reliable and consistent, but not as much fun :D
Hey punkrat, just wanted some help from either you or another in the comments for which class I should play. My main priorities is a fun rotation. I'm probably going to be doing pve, however meta characters aren't a must. For example I know that warlocks just spam shadowbolt, whereas I wanted something which required constant paying attention. I'm also down to play any role, as long as that rotation is good. I've looked at rogues for the combo points and energy, same for ferals because of the powershifting, and looked at warrior tanks, however I'm down for any other advice. Thanks for the help.
I'd roll hunter/rogue, and if you have a lot of time warrior keep in mind that this is vanilla, most of the rotations are boring regardless personally I pick based on 1 pvp (this is what I do outside of raids for fun) 2 time investment (how long it takes to farm/level/get into groups 3 fun in PVE the reason PVE is last on my list is because I'll be doing it the least raids only happen 2-3 times a week, the rest of the time you will be doing other things, and once you have all your dungeon BIS you're not going to be doing a lot of dungeons unless you are farming certain mats (or soloing for gold in some cases) personally I'm going to roll mage, they are great in pvp, have a lower time investment and while they don't have a super great rotation in pve, I'm only doing it for 4 hours max per week after the initial gearing phases anyways my opinion, but take what you will
Skramtank has a bunch of videos on Feral Tank, an off tank that isn't cannibalistic to main tank progression and the melee buff is enough to get you a try out for off tank.
Probably should've had Druid 5 Spongebabs on Leveling, with hunters. They can easily compete for fastest leveling, outside of the rare "perfect" hunter methods. No downtime, low requirement on gear upgrades, etc. Easily top tier levelers
Druid are second just to hunters on lvling... also saying that most guilds wont bother having an druid tank is pure bs, theres is a innervate, battle rez, 3% crit, that wont take an heal spot nor will make the healer stop its work, and they are not as useless as he pretend to know, I mt mc and severals naxx bosses as bear. video is full of bs.
Overall this is a good video, but stating that having a Feral as off-tank is not even worth it, kinda shows how biased you are towards Warrior, since you played it for so long. Ferals can tank Naxx, there will be some fights where warrior is 100% a better choice, but otherwise it isn't so clear cut. Plus with the right spec, a feral not only can off tank (or main tank) they can also heal in the same raid.
also they are the best tanks on nightmare-dragons (green world bosses). and the battle rezz also op. aura aswell. we had 1 maintank warry 1 protadin and 1 bear in the tank team. works superb.

Shaman lvling should be atleast 3. You get a heartstone spell (astral recall) that can be used every 15min! That really helps with lvlin

I will be a warrior tank and never be there for my raid :) just like it's meant to be
Which Class should you pick? simple whatever u like the most, its classic t
Not having lock 5/5 in leveling is just stupid.
I spent what felt like a million hours in WSG. Thunderhorn server Druid named Desperado. (I NEED to get that name again).. With a even half decent premade WSG group and a skilled and geared druid.
@@Dragon-Believer nope, ferals have 0 downtime and fast movement throughout the leveling process.

I played a Hunter through retail WoW, vanilla - BFA.
I shall be a Hunter again in classic 😂 love the class
I played through most of Vanilla as a hunter, gave it up when TBC launched as I disliked the direction the class had went in. Regardless, I still have very fond memories of chain-pulling mobs for my guilds tanks through raids, kiting all the dragonkin on Razorgore (as well as a bunch of other encounters), and generally showing off! Hunters used to get a lot of flack back then for the 'hunter loot' thing and the fact a lot of uhh... 'lower skilled' players picked them up. Easy to play but hard to master in my experience, still very tempted to roll one for classic, although I'm leaning toward Rogue at the moment.

lisen up guys this guy "broke the mold"
About ret, the nost core code has it wrong.(hear me out this is actually new info)
Nano, one of the nost devs outright said that there was very little information about how holy damage really worked in PVE and even less information about ret paladins specifically.
From my understanding, it's not that Holy damage can't be resisted, it's just that Holy Resistance as a stat doesn't exist in the game.
Wrong, and probably way higher than they actually are. Ret only sort of worked in Naxx a little. Other than that, it was trash.
It is 25% increased damage.
Im sorry man but talking about warlocks in pve, not mentioning soulstones and summoning people..dude? :P
And the leveling is definitely 5 stars, but i might be biased as a lock main.
leveling is DEFINITELY 5 stars for locks. Voidwalker tank and dotting everything was great. Plus SSing yourself and healthstones plus draon life makes everything easy. Plus through talents they get a shit ton of stamina.
Ah plus shadowburn in destro was fucking insane.
Curses... I mean he did say locks just aren't his thing. Honestly, they are less work for most than hunters... no pet taming shenanigans.
I really love the demon quests for each demon and then the mount quest. i got my epic riding warlock mount in classic. it was fucking legendary.
That fire mage ignite tip was great! Spent ages going through these type of videos to narrow down my main. You helped me decide on Hunter.

Play an arcane mage in raid and never have to worry about downranking spells ever again.
16 seconds without spending mana. While continuously casting. Sweet sweet value on that "useless" spirit gear no one wants.
Also improved amplify magic rocks. Free spellpower for every healer !
is this real? lol i havent played p.servers and in real classic this wasnt a thing
The only thing that makes hunters better levelers than warlock is the movement speed aspect pre 40
+10 for playing a Jet Set Radio Future track on the outro.
What would be the situation on Alliance side in your opinion? Having the same kind of conundrum and hesitant between Lock, Priest and Hunt
If I were you I'd go hunter unless you really like healing, in which case, priest.

once druid - always druid. not strongest in anything ... but hands down has the most variety in possible playstyles and (outside of raids) can do emergency role switches. also being able to sneak while covering any role not just dd is just plain AWESOME.
btw. speccing deeper than usual into balance and combining the -9% mana cost, crit= -.5seconds next cast and the +x% crit on regrowth talents allows for a different playstyle than the usual healing touch druid. played right you can cover the raid nicely for extended periods on time with high level rejuvs, delivering a solid healing baseline while also being able to turn into a crazy burst powerhouse in tight spots for short periods of time. that specc served me very well in vanilla even in naxx.
Fluffy Hedgehog , I’m curious, what did your talents and gear look like?
@@Nick3618W not sure about the gear at the beginning of naxx tbh - too long ago (god i am getting old ...). sorry. i picked up the aq40 set but i found everything after T2 ugly as hell ... never wanted to run around looking like an exploded bug ...
talent wise i found my old sheets so i can share. i went with this back then (and plan to do so again):
classicdb.ch/?talent#0x0xcMxsZZxVcscVM
it worked very well, all be it in a specialized role for stable continuous base line healing with very nice flash-heal like bursts for emergencies that continue ticking afterwards.
of course you have to go full on crit gear with this and in a dedicated high end raid you will not be allowed to play around with talents the way i did most likely.
i was pretty active back then and so was my raid but we were not top notch. even then it took me quite some convincing to get the go for this and several raids with statistics analyzed before the leader team acknowledged it is a viable spec that delivered on par with the other druids and was beneficial for our group.
@@mrfluffyhedgehog - Thanks for sharing the build! Looks like it's also unique in the way that it actually has some offensive talents unlike traditional pure healers.

bloodyshade96 Won’t be possible. DKS came during WOTLK which is level 80.

Hey Pals, can you buff everyone every 5 minutes but other tban that please fuck off 🤣 game wasnt built for hybrid at all
Thanks for the warning at the beginning. I took advantage of TH-cam's speed function. ;)

The lore, the quests the SOULHARVESTRR and the class identity which make the class even cooler and unique.
but every class can top meters when investing in consumables... (except hunters XD)
Warlocks were indeed VERY strong, and you needed their debuffs. In PvP, as well, I remember watching warlocks two shot people with shadow bolt. That was just goofy to me!
@@2NextLvL lmao hunters can't complain though... they can outperform other dps classes in farming, soloing, pvp etc
@@Rainbow_Painbow yep curse of element alone is like 8% of mages totale dps. 8% more frost/fire dmg depends on a single button press from the lock it is assigned to :D
Edit 10% at rank 2 :P
@@zaktrytodive7582 i know, im going hunter anyway xd
Hmm so if I'm looking for a class with the most fun leveling /world pvp experience--what do I go? Note that I have played a lot of rogue before so I might want to try something different.
would have expect one or one and a half spongebob's for warrior leveling.
Could even go 0 honestly
For me, it's a little tough to choose what's going to be my main. Got three in line, Shammy, Mage, and Hunter. I only played TBC and forward. Does where my classes for TBC end game, but mainly played Mage. I nuked and had a huge blast getting each pvp piece with the tokens. felt so GOOD and well earned to get each one of em. time will tell which one after each run I make that I will make that choice. I honestly can not wait to play V WoW.
Peter Dinklage in a priest outfit while talking about dwarf priests made my day.
really excited to play Classic again, I was in the Wow beta years ago
I'm going to pick Tauren warrior Prot spec .Was MT on day one in Naxxramas on my Vanilla guild , and Is by far the best class for classic nostalgia ;D
good luck if you are not only pve
I feel like you don't really know a lot about Warlock in general, but I love your videos!
I was a horde warrior at launch and carried him all the way until I quit the game a couple of years ago.
I'll probably just go Alliance Hunter and not worry about raiding.
" He who hesitates is lost"
- Wise warrior :-D
Agree on the intensity of the war keyboard mashing style, as well as a totally unique and fun style . Charging into battle, the tactical playstyle, etc. Rough at pvp at 60 until top gear though... can have a blast when leveling in BGs though
Tank wise , Ive run it in all expansions more or less.
Burning Crusade was the best days of WoW
one will hope they release BC classic one day

Why because you can be a blood elf who cares
@@YoYo-vc1os no its cause the overall game was still similar to vanilla, the game wasn't ruined and lots of things were added to the game such as abilities which made classes feel more fun to play and added more skill to the game etc.
Yo Yo lol, who cared about Bloodelves. I’ll second this mans thoughts..Classic/BC were the best WoW ever was and will be.
I cant decide been thinking about it everyday for ages
same bro
And once you have then you have to come up with a name!
Theres a lot not said in this video. If you're a normie (dedicated but not a nerd king) rogues are not the best. You want to play for for the late game, go for warrior or shaman. Warlocks are super strong from bwl.
@@davidkim9898 I want to go shaman but I don't wanna be forced to heal...
Are the non-healing specs going to be viable in PvE??
they said everything is going to be as it was, no changes.
Good times.
Hey! Were you hardcore back then? Should I go ret paladin if I intend to play casually?
I've already made my decision- a dwarf priest. But I'm still here to see what you have to say.
@Sardeed Male. As a priest there's no need to trick people into partying with me because they think I'm a lady.
Now if I were a dps class . . .
just one thing on druids. in Naxx at Patchwerk as alliance, it really helps having a feral tank (an aq40 + 2-3 parts from bwl geared tank) because they usualyl have a larger hea;th pool than warriors and they dodge more :D so it makes it a lot easier for the slow casting spells to synch. The gear is pretty rare but if you have one, patchwerk becomes almost 3 times easier xd
With which class getting a gear piece feels the best? Subjective, but I'll trust Punkrats estimation.
Out of all my years of WoW I never really ran a caster. I think I did 1 Druid and quit it at 75. Might give it a shot this time.
I played vanilla warlock; loved it. Unkillable PVE.
ultimate solo farmer tbh
Great video. I like that you added very specific details for each spec and realistic viability in raids. You also sound like the dude who makes the Casually Explained videos haha-was waiting for some sarcasm
10:10 wtf every 2nd player is a mage or a rogue
I haven’t played WoW since summer break in 6th grade (around 2007-8) I loved it so much it consumed my
Life and I didn’t bathe regularly lol so that was why I stopped playing because like most young lads I wanted to get laid at some point. So fast forward had some sex, discovered drugs, graduated high school, and no this weekend I’ll be buying a nice gaming laptop with my tax monies.. so I plan on playing WoW again and it’s discouraging how different things are but back then as much as I loved the game I didn’t have as much knowledge of how MMO’s worked I got to like level 40 on my paladin and 30 something on my rouge and hunter which were super fun classes btw rouges are so fun I love the stealth assassin archetype. Anyway I’m a God level elder scrolls online player and pretty sure I’ll pick WoW up pretty fast. If there’s anyone here that could briefly educate me on the difference of vanilla and classic? I don’t understand why people keep saying that, are there two different versions of the game I could play or something? Is there anything I should know returning after all of this time?
Tom-Arne Johnsen good to know man that’s what I plan on playing
@@randyhoughtaling5465 Go check out Unbreakable Sulfuras Shaman on youtube if you haven't allready :D Ofc it's heavily edited, and he's got the best wep for the specc, but still showcase the mechanics well. I used to run with the unstoppable force that you get from exalted with AV, and it worked out great with the spec. Windfury or flurry procced in most encounters, but when the stars aligned with a windfury procc on stormstrike and then flurry, even prot warriors went down immediatly. Really loved the gameplay, and the enjoyment of a windfury in someones face :D
Tom-Arne Johnsen thanks a ton bro! I played enhance from wrath until about legion so I’m stoked to try it out in classic!
@@tommelitn5017 That's just cherry picked clips. Elem is far stronger in pvp. It's sort of like that video, except you can do it consistently.
I'd roll hunter/rogue, and if you have a lot of time warrior
keep in mind that this is vanilla, most of the rotations are boring regardless
personally I pick based on
1 pvp (this is what I do outside of raids for fun)
2 time investment (how long it takes to farm/level/get into groups
3 fun in PVE
the reason PVE is last on my list is because I'll be doing it the least
raids only happen 2-3 times a week, the rest of the time you will be doing other things, and once you have all your dungeon BIS you're not going to be doing a lot of dungeons unless you are farming certain mats (or soloing for gold in some cases)
personally I'm going to roll mage, they are great in pvp, have a lower time investment and while they don't have a super great rotation in pve, I'm only doing it for 4 hours max per week after the initial gearing phases anyways
my opinion, but take what you will
The most satisfying feeling in the world is finding an afk gnome as an enhancement shammy and givin the 1 shot jump windfury boogaloo.
I approve this specific type of boogaloo-ing
It's great as a Tauren. The whole bottom half of the body locks up straight up and down and the torso goes whoopmmm.
This video reminded me how prehistoric and impaired vanilla Wow is. Went from excited to I might not actually get the game because of this video.
This video is bad
Yay, I am a real trooper! :> Thanks buddy, that was interesting!
Skramtank has a bunch of videos on Feral Tank, an off tank that isn't cannibalistic to main tank progression and the melee buff is enough to get you a try out for off tank.
Mages sharing damage, stalin approves.
We never had a bear offtank in Vanilla. They just weren't that good back then. Their boost came in TBC.
they were and a lot of guys will show it in august and september that they are quite good for tanking as well.
@@maaikevanderaa2269 Just have a look at this channel. Just because you didn't have them, it doesn't mean they weren't good. But I completely agree that bears were better in TBC.
Yet, a number of classes became much better in 1.12. Bear is one of them. Unfortunately a lot of people don't remember what was happening strictly in that patch, they remember the "whole" of Vanilla, and before that patch I would have agreed with you that Bears weren't worth it. th-cam.com/channels/5xSfo5nMGSmv00sGpRN7SQ.html
