I love how you explain things. It's not just a "do this/don't do that"; you give a reason why it works or why it doesn't, which I appreciate immensely. Until now I had no idea why I've always had trouble setting my makeup with powders, so thank you for enlightening me!
Great advice. Having acne and dry skin is a pain in the ***. Mattes work best for bumpy pitted skin and dewy just draws attention the bumps. I know flawless is just not possible. I aim for feeling pretty and proud of my features. Not flawless. If I aimed for flawless then every morning in the mirror would end up incredibly depressing. I think Wayne is probably the most educated and experienced artist I've found on TH-cam. I appreciate everyone's attempt at advice , but it can be disheartening to watch someone give a tutorial for dry skin only to follow their advice and end up looking like a friggin desert storm. While they mean well it's really frustrating to be on the other end. Good professional advice from an actual professional is priceless. I've spent so much on products recommended by tutorials only to be disgusted with my face and the product. It's really really encouraging to have someone like Wayne helping us out like he does. I know I can put faith in what he recommends. ❤️
You are always amazing to watch a great teacher! I've paid thousands of dollars for makeup education (it was way too much and I learnt very little more than i knew already). Your skill of teaching is something to be recognized...you make it simple and to the point. Very Talented Just had to put it out there ...love your videos. Cheers!
This video is basically arriving from heaven, I've had really dry skin for so long and I didn't care for it good enough, so it's a blessing to find these very helpful video on how to deal with my skin. My finished skin make up looks so much better these days, yay! :)
You just saved me from going in circles with my dry skin! I have been doing it all wrong with using those foundation brushes and then buffing it into my skin. No wonder no matter how much I moisturized I would always get a cakey, uneven finish. I will switch to a sponge from now on. Thanks for the wonderful tips ;)
I have been searching for a video on this for sooo long. I get dry skin in the winter especially around my nose, around the eyelids and sometimes on my browbone. When putting foundation on, i see it cling onto the patches and it is soo annoying. Thanks for this awesome tip. Will def be trying it out.
Gotta say, I have NEVER heard of using toner on dry skin - I was told that was to dry it out! But when you pit it that way, about it tightening the pores to seal in moisture, it makes perfect sense! Geez, yet again you have changed my makeuping world!
I used to have super dry skin but I started using Boots no7 Beautiful skin dry/very dry day and night cream and my skin got so luminous and healthy looking! I really recommend!
+lilibethfloress that's a moisturizer. one's a morning one and one is right before bed and i had the most stubborn skin but after about a week of using it my skin was silky smooth and foundation went on so smoothly!
+lilibethfloress No problem! I hope it works/you find a solution! Oh also I mix in pure vitamin C oil with the night cream. It strengthens and brightens the skin. I tend to have dull flat looking skin in the winter as well so this helps!
The best makeup artist!! Everything he said I tried and worked!! And knows exactly what to do with types of skin!! Have been watching him forever and still haven't seen anyone better!
I have EXTREMELY dry skin on my lower cheek area and around my nose. I have tried so many different products and, after wearing them for a few hours, they looked horrible. It had gotten to the point where I hated wearing makeup. THEN I discovered the perfect combination (for me). I've been using Benefit's PoreFessional primer and Urban Decay's Naked foundation. It looks like I'm not even wearing makeup and I can't begin to express how thrilled I am! My skin looks flawless for 12+ hours. AMAZING!
Hands down the best makeup tip I have ever learned. I have been struggling with patchy forehead after putting on foundation, and I tried a million foundations, hoping to find one that was better for my skin. We'll, I just tried the sponge-dab method and my my, my forehead never looked so good. Thank you!!!!!
You are seriously one of the best makeup artists ever, all of your videos are simple and sweet and go straight to the point! All of your makeup tips work so well and it really reflects on how good of an artist you are! 👍 thanks for helping me out with my makeup 🙆
You saved my life!! Thank you so much! I have dry skin, even during the summer. I don't know why. I followed your technique, I look amazing. Thank you so much! Love you!
My skin always gets really dry this time of year and I've been trying these tips out over the past few days. It has helped SO much!! So many people have commented how great my face and makeup look! Thank you so much for this video!! 😃
Will definitely be trying out the Mac face and body and just a heads up to anyone with a shoppers drug mart (I think it might be just Canada ) that they have a purple Quo brand sponge for $5.00 its the closest match to the beauty blender I've found but its acorn shaped. Anyway thank you xoxo
The best foundations I have found for my dry skin is Smashbox Studio skin 15 hour wear hydrating foundation, Osiris Avisé BB cream and Mehron Celebré HD pro Cream make up, which is one of my favioute as it's supposed to have lots of a Vitamin E.
That last bit of advice of tapping powder rather than buffing it has really helped with the appearance of my makeup at the end. Thank you! My face looks so much smoother yet my foundation lasts just as long. :)
Ahh I've been doing everything wrongg >< I've been using that kind of brush for the past year and my skin is super dry around my forehead. It's always caking and flaking off and hopefully changing my brush to the sponge will help a bit
I just had an epiphany when you were talking about how a paddle or stippling brush micro exfoliates and causes foundation to cling to dry patches. That is exactly what has been happening to me and I kept thinking it was the foundation, my inexperience in using brushes, or my skin was having a bad day. I'm going to try a wet sponge next time. You're a genius as always.
I do all the tips he mentioned and still always have a patchy foundation at the middle/end of the day :/ It's so frustrating and I don't know what to do about it! I wish there was something you could use to touch up and moisturize with throughout the day without getting it cakey
Liesbeth xoxo i had the same problem till i found an awesome solution and it really works , try M.A.C mineralize charge water skin hydrating mist , there are videos on youtube that show how well this product works , i use it A LOT since i bought it and i apply it before and after foundation and its perfect :)
You have just taught me something amazing! My face it VERY dry due to my eczema. I have dry patches on my temples, my brow bone, between my eyebrows and my upper lip. I've use the damp sponge before and loved the look but I've watched so many women with their flat top kabuki brushes or stippling brushes saying that they are the best for coverage. When I try it I noticed the clinging you mentioned, lots of flaking and cracking especially on my upper lip. I am definitely going back to the sponge!
I absolutely love your videos! I have been dealing with the most terrible dry skin especially this winter! My forehead is patchy and flaky and awful! I will definitly use your tips.
Thanks Wayne!!! I have this video saved for tips on my dry skin, I watched it when you first put it up but I'm glad I watched it again because I needed to be reminded not to powder my whole face sine I have extremely dry skin, and to be careful not to micro-exfoliate. Thanks again!!!
i swear, every time i get a skin problem like dryness you upload a video about it just when i need it! all of your videos are so helpful and so honest :) x
I exfoliate and cleanse every night, moisturize, moisturize and prime in the morning before foundation. I apply FitMe foundation and pressed but over the day it becomes SO dry!!! I don't even have dry skin -_- i have a combo. my nose and mouth areas, the parts that stretch dry up with the foundation. It looks really porey and cracked up close,:( I'm a perfectionist and although my makeup looks okayish It doesn't make me feel ok! Anyone else? I should try out other foundations but it's way too much of a risk buying one for £40 when it just does the same thing on my face >_
You and me both! It's definitely during the day after I have applied my makeup that it looks dry and lf key looking :( not a great look. And it really bothers me and decreases my self esteem.
AnaFiamatta I never really took notice of this until one day I just realised my face has just lost all its moisture haha. Someone just recommended I should use bb or cc cream. hope that helps
Maybe you should try a cream or silicone based foundation, I only know pro cream foundations like RCMA and Graftobian. Face Atalier is a great silicone foundation. They have testers you can buy for just $3 box online.
Exfoliating every day is a no-no. It will only make your skin more dry, and then your foundation will obviously not appear as flawless as it could. Try exfoliating once or twice a week and see how that goes! Also make sure your moisturizer and primer get the time to set before you apply any makeup! Remember, I'm not an expert, and this is just a tip :-)
noo i don't literally mean exfoliating everyday , i don't even have the time for that. I don't think my foundation problem has anything to do with that, It's the product and primer that doesn't get along well with my skin
This video was such a huge help to me.I have dry skin & my makeup was looking cakey & just bad,& I didn't understand why, cause I wasn't even using foundation,it was a tinted moisturizer w/power over to set it.But what I was doing was using a brush & powdering all over like you said not to.Today,I used a puff instead & kind of layed it on like you said, which enabled me to use less somehow,& just in the middle,& it was SO nice for once to not be self conscious about how my foundation looked.
The product I love the most for my dry to normal skin is the Maybelline Dream Creamy MakeUp. It's a cream to liquid foundation and it goes on so well. I do suffer from having large pores and this is the only foundation that doesn't make them stand out even more. Love you, Wayne :) you are so gorgeous and everytime I watch your videos it makes me smile! Xo from Germany
I have such dry skin I hate it!!! Even with the beauty blender , it still doesn't help and I put tons of cream on my face and I use face washes that are ment for dry skin I hate it! I rather have oily skin
My nose is just soooo dry&flaky and I have a lot of pores there too. I always use the POREfessional before applying, but my nose manages to cling to it and just flake. Ughh 😭
pastelxcanon I use a gentle exfoliator every night before a heavy moisturizer. If I still have flaky spots in the morning I can exfoliate my nose to get rid of the dry skin and moisturize again before applying makeup. I would suggest a hydrating primer (like Too Faced Hangover RX) or a gel/water based moisturizer for your face and nose then go over your pore areas with a smoothing primer (like Benefit's Porefessional or the version by Makeup Forever).
pastelxcanon same problem here. i tried everything but nothing could solve this problem. but now i am 100% satisfied with glycerine. use few drops of glycerine+water mixture over your nose just 1 minute before applying your foundation. i'm pretty sure you will thank me later. let me know if it works for you. :)
I'm the same way. I stopped using a cleanser and try to oil wash and moisturizer with tamanu oil. It's the best oil I've used! I've used a lot and hated all the other kinds because they broke me out.
Wayne, you are a dream come true!!! I have very dry facial skin and though I love makeup it can make me cry some days. I purchased a beauty sponge after watching this video and the transformation of my foundation application is amazing. My makeup and I no longer have a love hate relationship. Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you. Blessings for a brilliant new year.
Thank you so much. Got a lot from this video. Can I ask. I used to use my hands to apply foundation, then found the beauty blender which is amazing. I've tried to use brushes but no matter what brush it always looks streaky?
I have dry skin with even drier patches, and I like to do the heavy conceal and light foundation to look even. I love Benefit fakeup and a good BB cream. I use that combination most days with a primer underneath. Primer is definitely key. Many people say spend your money on foundation, if you have dry skin, spend your money on primer!
My skin peels off when I put foundation on and I have red spots that cover my skin(acne) and the foundation just makes my skin look soo bad!! My skin just dries off and makes my face makeup look horrible!!!
Katherine same! I have very minor acne on my forehead but I can never cover it up! It's always dry when I try putting foundation or concealer over it. It just looks terrible
Illamasqua skin base foundation, body shop vit c moisturiser spf30 or paulas choice sun care spf30. Also every few days a homemade mask of half an advacado 1tbsp honey mixed together. Spread over face avoiding eyes, leave on for 15min then rinse off with warm water. This has really helped with my dry patches. Oh and thankyou wayne once again for your wonderful videos. ;) x
Thank you so much for this. After being on Isotretinion (accutane) for a year, I am still suffering from the dry out 2 years later. I never knew any of this. Atm I have been using Maybeline Satin Finish, using my fingers coated in Avon's primer and dabbing it on. I am now excited I have learned this from you! Thanks!
Happily gave u a thumbs up, as always,. At 45 I have relearned how to apply makeup thanks to you and everyone has noticed- in a good way. Somehow I use half the products now but feel twice as pretty ! Thank you for your posts and tips and tricks that a homemaker like me would never learn. Today I applied my mascara using your new technique and my beastie thought I was wearing false lashes! I love the look and the easy application! Thanks again!
I spent years trying to deal with dry skin and foundations from mac to benefit to bobbi brown to chanel. Could never find what suited but I was using the mac flat foundation brush. Thanks for the tip on the beauty blender! Not only is it cheaper but solved the issue.
I can't tell you how much this video has helped me! I'm only 15 years old going on 16 soon. And I struggle with my skin, I break out a lot in both the winter and summer. My skin is mixed so at times I have very dry skin mostly by the nose and cheek area. And other times I can have very oil like skin. Every morning I would wake up very early for school just to do my foundation and it was a nightmare. I would use very cheap make up brands and it didn't help one bit. I would use make up brushs, like fluffy and even flat ones. But the foundation would just stick to my skin and make me look like some kind of clown. This video was filled with very good information that I REALLY needed to know. So thanks again for posting this, I appreciate it!
For ages my foundation never looked really good no matter what i tried and after following these tips I have finally got a flawless smooth, non cake like finish and I'm so appreciative for this video!
Its weird because I have tried so many moisturizers and seconds later after I apply them it dries up so fast.. Ive had this problem since I can remember. I tried all of cliniques foundations(a miss), mac mineralize skin finish(miss) estee lauders double wear which is good but still settles into my dry patches. I exfoliate but nothing seems to work :L its good to know I am not the only one. I tried many primers too, well three.. anyone recommend any? I am afraid to experiment because I break out easily.
vanessaboss66 I do not have any primer recommendations, but this is what I suggest for moisturizing. My skin tended be the same: Sucking up the daycream within seconds and I had to use 2-3 applications for it to give some of the effect I wanted. One day I tried using my night cream in stead and It worked quite well. I didn't need to apply more than once before putting on my makeup. The night creams are more moisturizing and I think aiming at night creams is worth a shot ;) As moisturizer when going to bed, the holy grail is coconut oil. Yes! Coconut oil! Unlike many oils it can be applied like a cream, and it does go into your skin without laying super oily on the surface. You can have it in your bathroom without it turning to a runny mess (unless living in a really hot place with no aircondition). I LOVE LOVE LOVE coconut oil! It lasts a hell of a long time and you can also (if wanted) use it on any dry parts of your body!
Something that really saved my skin was at night after I wash my face use a little bit of extra virgin coconut oil on my face as moisturizer and I noticed a huge difference! I only use it at night since it makes your face look oily and shiny
Hey. Add a drop of glycerin to your moisturiser and it stays hydrated whole day. I have extremely dry skin too and this took care of it. Do give it a try.
I've suffered with dry patches and very oily skin zones at the same time. My foundation used to get ruined all the time on the dry zones. I fixed that by starting using Clearsonic and I apply my foundation with my fingers on the areas that I know are dry. No more problems :)
Thank you so much for making this video, my eczema on my face has been making me miserable recently, and I can't cover it no matter what I try! Everything you've said makes so much sense, I can't wait to try this!
I have combo skin and the drugstore foundation I use that works with dry skin is the Neutrogena skin clearing foundation & LO'real true match foundation! I MIX both of them and use a padding / dabbing motion with my fingers OR sponge! Works beautifully!
I figured this out a couple of weeks ago. I use Makeup Forever Face & Body 44 (i think that's the number) with a beauty blender. It's the best and stay pretty long and I prefer the dewy look since I have dry sensitive skin. Thanks for doing this video Wayne!
If you could help me with my problem I'd be so very grateful! My forehead down to between my eyebrows I have what I call "dragon skin" every time I use foundation (I've used MAC, dermablend, drugstore, etc. I've exfoliated, used toner, moisturizer, I've even mixed moisturizer in with my foundation and nothing helps. The forehead down to between my eyebrows always looks like I have a bumpy dry cake face no matter how light my hand is at applying or how little powder (or no powder at all) I put over my foundation (yes I wait for all products to dry before I add another). The rest of my face does not have this issue at all. I wish my mother knew what sunscreen was when I was growing up! Every imperfection is magnified and cakey. It makes me feel like the entire process of my makeup is ruined due to this issue. Please gossmakeupartist if you can do a video on this and let me know it would be a real life changer for me. If it helps to know I am 35 years old.
Jaime Chevron im not Wayne, but just a quick thought, Have u tried slathering Vaseline on at night before u sleep? If you havent try it for a few nights... i no couple of people including myself who do this and it seems to work!
Jaime Chevron Hi Jaime! My sister calls it my crocodile skin :D I have been using a rosebud salve by smith's. It's lighter than vaseline but it really helps!
I have horribly dehydrated skin with dry patches on my forehead and chin. I LOVE using the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. I found the opposite, however. When I use the beauty blender, it tends to cling to the dry patches. I get a more flawless, airbrushed effect from using a duo fiber stippling brush
I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS!!!!! This one I have watched a few times just to hear you say...Something big and meaty in their hand! and then saying....GRRRRR at the end! Seeing you loose your train of thought and then turning a bright red was priceless! I wondered how you got through the rest of your tutorial! WE LOVE YOU WAYNE!!!!!!! Your friend Willow from Canada
I have really dry skin and I use Bourjois healthy mix serum, it has a really nice finish (not enough coverage though) and it doesn't dry my skin out throughout the day so yay. There's just one thing, in one of your videos you mentioned that water based foundations are better applied with fingers or brushes because sponge (no matter how damp) "drinks" more foundation than it puts it on the skin.. We dry-skin people are doomed to throwing away half of the foundation we buy haha x) Loved the video!
I seriously learnt sooo much professional beauty tips from you, thank you so much, genuinely. I would've made the huge mistake of micro exfoliating if it were for using foundation brushes vs a beauty blender sponge. And I personally have dry, sensitive, normal skin; agreed to handling skin based on skin condition & day, vs generalizing it as a genre, but this is simply a summary. Therefore these recommendations are quite great!
My skin is so dry that I can't use a beauty blender. And the Make Up Forever foundation doesn't work on me(with moisturizer & primer); it makes my skin chippy... Lol.
I’m a low budget makeup person, I love the Rimmel 25 Hour Breathable. It’s a very silky texture, and it feels so good on my skin. Thanks goodness I don’t need tons of powder product . Center of face only , got it . Those are the places that get a little “ oily “:especially when it’s hot . That or I just use the a BB Cream , Maybelline makes a good one with spf . Thanks Wayne.
I use Body Shop's BB creme with vitamine E and I like it a lot! I have very dry skin but when I use it, my skin is soo gorgeous. It doesn't have full coverage but I don't mind that. I used to use a foundation from Clinique, but that just really dries our my skin and I am almost never satisfied with the result. Thank you for the tips in the video :)
I am so happy that I found you. Your videos have helped me finally be able to use foundation & concealer without looking like I was born & raised in a shack behind a trailer park!!!! You are brilliant & beautiful!!! THANK YOU!!!
I 'm really loving the Clinique CC Cream. I am incredibly pink and it reins that in without making yellow or orange. I just look like a cuter version of myself.
Switched to a damp sponge, and stopped doing so much powder, and so far so good!! Most days no weird flaky bits on the bottom of my cheeks. I've actually been using the elf moisturizing stick foundation with a lot of success. I always thought I had oily skin- apparently not lately. Thanks!!
I also meant to add that my grandmother used to swear by nivea, and so I started trying it, and my face feels downright parched at night when I don't put it on. I thought that I would be an oil slick if I used it in the morning, but I gave it a go on the weekend, and it has definitely helped!
I have dry skin and the 2 foundations I use are the ysl touche eclat foundation and recently the Nars radiant cream foundation. There are amazing and leave an incredibly dewy look to the skin. Perfection
Perfect video for me! I have struggled with dry skin for a long time. I think it gets worse as I get older. I just got one of those sponges & it seems to work pretty well.
you always make me smile, thanks. Whenever I have been away from my laptop and I sign into youtube...your channel is the very first place I check for updates. Keep up the good work :)
I love these tips thank you so much, I suffer from acne from time to time and used to be very oily and now after years I am now more on the dry side. I use those brushes you mentioned not knowing this information! I will now reach for my beauty blender and exfoliate minimally in the morning before doing anything else. Thank you so much you have been a great help!!!
I sweat it looks like your not wearing makeup at all! That's exactly what im looking for. A natural product that can hide my acne scaring and look like I'm not wearing any makeup. ❤❤❤ Thank you soo much for this!!
Perfect timing for that video! Just changed skin care products recently and while they've worked great they are quite drying so this video was very helpful!!!! Thank you!
U r a life saver not a lot of people explain how to apply n my mother never thought me this stuff I love this video and the one on how to cover scars I'll save so much money to think of all the hours I've spent applying and failing not to mention the endless amount of different make ups and brushes I've thrown away ... I was just applying wrong lol thanks ..... so much love ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have dry skin and noticed that when I apply foundation with a sponge it looks so much better then when I buff it in with a brush. Thank you. Great tips.
I have dry skin and I love Nars sheer glow foundation. It's dewy and so natural. It goes from sheer to medium full coverage if you build it. You can get full coverage with concealer on any problem areas. Thanks so much for this video I love the tips and thanks for sharing the products!!
Oh my...anyway, I bought a beauty blender because of you and I L-O-V-E it. I've always applied my foundation with my fingers, and still do with certain foundations, but I love my BB. Thank you.
I love your videos. They are always so much more informative and useful than many others that I come across on the Internet . I just wanted you to know how much I love them. :)
I'm 50y/o, use Retin-A and have dry skin. I am a nurse and work very long days and require a long wearing foundation. So far, Estee Lauder Double Wear Light is the BEST long wearing foundation for dry/combination skin I have ever used. Are there foundations that I like better in terms of a beautiful skin appearance? Yes, but they don't last long enough on my skin. My two cents!
Hey Wayne! I've been watching your videos for at least two years now. You're my makeup guru. I've been into Yves Saint Laurent makeup lately and I would love to see some more tutorials or tips from you using their products. Thanks! Stay Lovely
This makes so much sense to me now considering that I also have combination skin and the makeup advisor at Ulta would tell me just to dab my Urban Decay foundation with a brush. It definitely does produce this strange flakiness on some areas on my face and I usually thought it was probably just because I added too less or because I didnt have as much moisturizer on. That's why I stopped wearing it as much, but now I'll give it a try again with a sponge. Thanks for this vital information!!! :)
I've been trying to figure out what I was doing wrong when applying makeup to my nose (as it is my only dry area). Exfoliation alone did not solve the problem. Now I have the answer. Thanks Wayne!! XXX
I love how you explain things. It's not just a "do this/don't do that"; you give a reason why it works or why it doesn't, which I appreciate immensely. Until now I had no idea why I've always had trouble setting my makeup with powders, so thank you for enlightening me!
"who doesnt want something BIG and meaty in their hands, I know I do" that was Hilarious. 😂
IKR i was abt to die!!😂😂 dirty mind tbh
Nicole Oombash 😂😂
8 years later and you still solve all my makeup problems / concerns / questions. Love you Wayne!!
Definitely the most professional, relatable, relatable, makeup artists that I use as my go to as far as makeup tutorials. Huge fan!

FallingFromWillows 511 Absolutely agreed. ❤

is that a foundation or moisturizer? i have SUPER dry skin to the point where i hate all foundations from drugstore to high end!
+lilibethfloress that's a moisturizer. one's a morning one and one is right before bed and i had the most stubborn skin but after about a week of using it my skin was silky smooth and foundation went on so smoothly!
thank you so much!
+lilibethfloress No problem! I hope it works/you find a solution! Oh also I mix in pure vitamin C oil with the night cream. It strengthens and brightens the skin. I tend to have dull flat looking skin in the winter as well so this helps!
I agree! I also use this and this really helps my dry skin :)
The best makeup artist!! Everything he said I tried and worked!! And knows exactly what to do with types of skin!! Have been watching him forever and still haven't seen anyone better!
I have dry skin and I love the Bourjois Healthy Mix.

Rimmel match perfection foundation is amazing for dry skin for a cheaper foundation, also photographs with flash great
You are seriously one of the best makeup artists ever, all of your videos are simple and sweet and go straight to the point! All of your makeup tips work so well and it really reflects on how good of an artist you are! 👍 thanks for helping me out with my makeup 🙆
"Who doesn't want something big and meaty in their hands?! That's what I say!" haha Nice
You saved my life!! Thank you so much! I have dry skin, even during the summer. I don't know why. I followed your technique, I look amazing. Thank you so much! Love you!
when he says "who doesnt want something big and meaty in their hands" i was like yaaaassss bisshhh ima follow u now
My skin always gets really dry this time of year and I've been trying these tips out over the past few days.
I could listen to you talk about make up all day long. You have really helped me and gave wonderful tips!!

It's always caking and flaking off and hopefully changing my brush to the sponge will help a bit
they should just stop manufacturing these 'paintbrush' brushes that are totally horrendous to apply foundation with!
Hi Goss can you suggest some drug store foundations for dry skin?
I absolutely love your videos! I have been dealing with the most terrible dry skin especially this winter! My forehead is patchy and flaky and awful! I will definitly use your tips.
I needed this!!
Al James Thank you beautiful x

+Wayne Goss What was the last product that you talked about? I couldn't catch the name of it!
Thanks Wayne!!! I have this video saved for tips on my dry skin, I watched it when you first put it up but I'm glad I watched it again because I needed to be reminded not to powder my whole face sine I have extremely dry skin, and to be careful not to micro-exfoliate. Thanks again!!!
how do you contour your face with dry skin ???? how to you put blush on do you just patt it ??
i swear, every time i get a skin problem like dryness you upload a video about it just when i need it! all of your videos are so helpful and so honest :) x
This video was such a huge help to me.I have dry skin & my makeup was looking cakey & just bad,& I didn't understand why, cause I wasn't even using foundation,it was a tinted moisturizer w/power over to set it.But what I was doing was using a brush & powdering all over like you said not to.Today,I used a puff instead & kind of layed it on like you said, which enabled me to use less somehow,& just in the middle,& it was SO nice for once to not be self conscious about how my foundation looked.
something big and meaty in their hands? my gosh, I blushed ;)
I have a dry skin too ! You should try Cetaphil !!!! It is the best thing for dry\conbonation skin !!!
Christina Batitsas yes
Finally! I have dry skin and this is the best, most informative foundation routine video I have seen so far. Thank you
My nose is just soooo dry&flaky and I have a lot of pores there too. I always use the POREfessional before applying, but my nose manages to cling to it and just flake. Ughh 😭
Yess!! I have the exact same problem!
pastelxcanon I have the same problem too D:
pastelxcanon I use a gentle exfoliator every night before a heavy moisturizer.
Apply the foundation with a brush then gently blend with a sponge.
Hands works best for me or beauty blender. No brushes
Oh and thankyou wayne once again for your wonderful videos. ;) x
Hello :) I was just wondering what the name of the foundation was that you mention at 4:27 as I couldn't quite make it out, thanks!
Alice Todd ... The foundation he mentioned is by Makeup Atelier Paris .. 😊
WOW, the timing of this is amazing! Recently been having a lot of trouble with dry skin recently and researching everything I can to fix it, thanks!
could he be any cuter.
Really though!
Yeah , anyway. Such a handsome, sweet and charming man.
Thanks!
You need to write which products you featured in the video in the about section. so it is easier for people to refer to. otherwise great video
Thanks again!
what was the foundation he mentioned at 4:27??
Make-up atillier :)
This was so helpful. I've watched all your other foundation tutorials for dry skin (I think!), and I always learn a lot from your videos.
2:05 xD love this guy!!!
I spent years trying to deal with dry skin and foundations from mac to benefit to bobbi brown to chanel. Could never find what suited but I was using the mac flat foundation brush. Thanks for the tip on the beauty blender! Not only is it cheaper but solved the issue.
"Who doesn't love something big and meaty in their hands?!" Hahaha xD I died
How did I go from a plastering video to this
What is even plastering
The stuff you spread on walls
+Pete Holder lol thanks woah do you really watch that on TH-cam xdd:D
Yup bit of a geek like that! They are good to learn from, but I could also ask the same to the peeps that watch these vids:D
Same idea, different tools lol
I am afraid to experiment because I break out easily.
vanessaboss66 drink more water, use serums and toners in your skincare routine! The trick to good make up is a good base and looking after your skin x
vanessaboss66 I do not have any primer recommendations, but this is what I suggest for moisturizing. My skin tended be the same: Sucking up the daycream within seconds and I had to use 2-3 applications for it to give some of the effect I wanted. One day I tried using my night cream in stead and It worked quite well. I didn't need to apply more than once before putting on my makeup. The night creams are more moisturizing and I think aiming at night creams is worth a shot ;)
As moisturizer when going to bed, the holy grail is coconut oil.
Hahahaha! That sneaky comment at 1:58 lol
Thank you so much for making this video, my eczema on my face has been making me miserable recently, and I can't cover it no matter what I try! Everything you've said makes so much sense, I can't wait to try this!
Just give me new skin its awful patchy, red, dry, spotty, bumpy, freckly :(
Then is your profile picture not you? Because that's the smoothest skin I've ever seen.
Loadsa make up but my skins grossssss without it and i suffer acne on and off but i have 1 day in every few weeks where my skins smooth haha.
I use coconut oil at night and only on the dry spots
tammy sides it breaks me out :( thanks though
@abc ive tried everything it either breaks me out or i see no result
I have combo skin and the drugstore foundation I use that works with dry skin is the Neutrogena skin clearing foundation & LO'real true match foundation! I MIX both of them and use a padding / dabbing motion with my fingers OR sponge! Works beautifully!
I mean, who doesn´t want something big and meaty in their hands?
If you havent try it for a few nights... i no couple of people including myself who do this and it seems to work!
thank you!!
thank you, I started using a wet beauty sponge and it seems to REALLY help :)
Jaime Chevron Hi Jaime! My sister calls it my crocodile skin :D I have been using a rosebud salve by smith's. It's lighter than vaseline but it really helps!
It's really helped me a lot. I think because it's damp and that helps the foundation.
I bet he likes something big and meaty in his hand 😜😜😜
I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS!!!!! This one I have watched a few times just to hear you say...Something big and meaty in their hand! and then saying....GRRRRR at the end! Seeing you loose your train of thought and then turning a bright red was priceless! I wondered how you got through the rest of your tutorial! WE LOVE YOU WAYNE!!!!!!!
Your friend Willow from Canada
"huge thick and meaty" O_O lmao
I have really dry skin and I use Bourjois healthy mix serum, it has a really nice finish (not enough coverage though) and it doesn't dry my skin out throughout the day so yay. There's just one thing, in one of your videos you mentioned that water based foundations are better applied with fingers or brushes because sponge (no matter how damp) "drinks" more foundation than it puts it on the skin.. We dry-skin people are doomed to throwing away half of the foundation we buy haha x) Loved the video!
"Big and meaty in their hands" lol ;)))
He laughed xD
+liorliv3 I know, he's so cute!
Lol.
Owell, thank you very much! :)
I hope it works!
I have dry skin. I put jojoba oil on my skin bevor i do the foundation. It works very well for me. Try it out!
XXX
Very new to the make up world, but your tips are absolutely amazing!!! I'm excited about getting started!!
