I am not American, but injustice resonates deeply with me no matter where it is found. RHETTY FOR HISTORY CHANNEL also covered this disgrace that is the Reign of Terror, and he mentioned the book, 'Killing of the Moon Flower' which tells the tragic story - and I will definitely order it. I don't know how anyone could treat another human being with such contemptible disrespect - not now, and not then. We were all born with an inherent knowledge of right and wrong - but some people don't listen to what they know is right. I've heard the 'excuse' a million times of "Oh, but it was a different time 100 years ago" - but if they were any different then they would not have thought it necessary to hide their crimes and murder secretly. I hope their property will be fully restored to the rightful descendants, and that these poor souls can rest in peace knowing that we know now. We know, and they're not forgotten.

Ernest went back to prison after coming back to Osage County and robbing his sister-in-law, Aunt Maggie aka Lillie Morrell Burkhart, Bryan's wife. Her home is now present day Whitehair Memorial. He lived out there when he got out the 2nd time and she died in a car wreck within a year and him and Bryan lived there until her estate was settled and they were forced to leave.
I'm shocked to have only learned of this at age 56. And these events are so much more recent than I realized... Such a profound level of corruption surely has not yet been addressed even today.
Interesting to see a discovery or revelation that shows true ownership and folks are like aww great story without acknowledging the powerful legal ramifications of such a reveal of information.
I went to Barnes & Noble Book Store when the book David Grann wrote on this 'Killers Of The Flower Moon', came out. . . They should have had a nice pile of copies, but nothings there instead. That's pretty strange.
Oh you bet. Look at it from a distance. Eagles view. The elites are Still at it.. trying to control every aspect of our life: finances/ income; freaking vaks passports, to better their grip; instead of teaching society to live simpler, eat better, live close to earth and connect with The Creator, they push slave inducing technology, additives/ preservatives, and are trying to crush people’s spirituality with fear and race baiting..
And now that's elevated a tragic and cruel series of events into a thoughtless national holiday. The more we know about the American Indian the more we should realize that one has done what has been done to them is no less than an atrocity.
Synchronicity: i played fear and loathing in las vegas on audiobook (here on youtube) during the night and here, early morning , i read your comment that would fit perfectly in this book
If you study that group Photo around 2:22, you will find some very interesting things. First, the two guys at Left front, in the base white patterned clothing, they look like twins. And every one of them have something separate, draped over their left forearms. And the three Indians on the far left, have something like an arm, with a hand, very detailed finger positions, carved out of something? Looks like wood. You have to look closely, because the detail is blurred from the photo process of the time. The one in the middle is very clear. The other two look like their own hands, but they are not...... Peace.
Did anyone catch in the book Scott Mathis who owned the trade store and was also a guardian to 7 Osages in the book? He had 7 deaths during the time of guardianship that he profited from. I wonder if he was a direct ancestor to the Mathis brothers? If you live in Oklahoma you know that Mathis name. Mathis is spelled the exact same way they spell it in the book. I’m sure no national reporter would know about the Mathis brothers so I’m sure it hasn’t been looked into.
Im so sorry that this happened to the Osage nation. How sad. May the victims rest in peace. Amen 🙏🏼 🌹🕊 The evil that was perpetrated on them is very disgusting. History needs to be kept alive or we are doomed to repeat it.

What an evil, awful group of people. As soon as I heard the land had oil, I knew it was bad news for the Osage. I’m so sorry your people were exploited in this way. I grieve for the lives of your people and my own. The same would have been done had black people lived on this land.
Saw this last night on CNN's This Life with Lisa Ling. I wish these things were actually taught in school. Why not teach about the Osage and even the Tulsa Race Massacre. Didn't find out about this stuff until I was an adult.
They're not actually "Indians". That was some ignorant Eurotrash calling them that because he didn't know where the hell he was. Indians are in India, a long way away. Which is where he thought he was. They are the original owners of this land, so they're real natives. We call them First Nations or by their tribes' names.
So the book lists a Scott Mathis as a guardian who had 7 deaths under him and he collected their estates after death. Anyone who lives in Oklahoma knows that Mathis name :) Scott Mathis owned a trading store in Osage county. Them Mathis brothers are weird and so was their ancestors. Bet they used that oil money for the Mathis brothers stores

I had never heard of these awful events before. Although I'm not American I knew that the First Nation's were treated badly and still are in many ways. I had no idea just how terrible it was though. This is horrifying!
Is going to visit this reservation this summer I would date an Osage woman.... I feel I am going to help these people...
@Limeade dunno when ever I get a new job see my friend Nuggetts people
@@sterlingpless9280 That's rather arrogant of you to say! I doubt any of them would "date" you. Geeezzz...!

That's revolting. What cruelty people will commit for the possession of bits of paper with green ink on them just boggles the mind.
Professor. R - i agree i have always thought the same. Some people will do anything for money. I know personally from all the scammers i once encounted Some people in this world are evil beyond evil,no mistake about that.
That's how white America was built. On the corpses of the indigenous people. 🐝
Them bits of green paper buy you true freedom
@@amandadassonville4043 And of course no other race (especially "indigenous people") ever murdered or exploited each other. Asians, blacks, south Americans, etc would never do anything wrong! Oh, you are that dumb, to believe that. Okay 👌🏻
I read the book Killers Of The Flower Moon about the Osage murders and the birth of the FBI. This is a great read.
💯👍
Do a story now on the Drummond ranch and family who ended up owning 430,000 acres of Osage land and oil head rights ..
Drummond family
Out smarted the Osage
This HORRIBLE!! Can’t believe such evil !!! Breaks my heart
What an amazing intro to this program! Riveting opening credits sequence
I've never heard of this Thank You for sharing 😊
Thanks FOR SHARING THIS INFORMATION ABOUT THE DELIMA AND STATUS OF THE FIRST NATION PEOPLE.....
NOW THIS HAS HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND THE HISTORY OF THIS U. S. A. CONTINENT.... ALSO THE BLACK AFRICAN AMERICANS What is going to happen to us???????????
😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR THE OUR HUMAN SPECIES.......???????
SAD...... SAD..... 😭 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Can’t wait to watch Killers of the Flower Moon!!! What these people did to the Osage Natives was Atrocious!! Absolutely horrible and I hope they are rotting in hell for it!!
So I'm Osage I found head right that have not been touched in 100 years but the evil around this is so thick I don't know what way to go. They have done me wrong all my life, every place I've lived has been robbed all my life. Now I see why.
Ty❤ my daughter and are finding out.ore on our roots. It's disgusting how we cover up so much of our ugly history. We will be reading book and seeing the movie.
I just known this event today through a podcast. It's a shame justice was never fully served for everyone who suffered.
It angers me that then Gov. Henry Bellmon gave Ernest Burkhart a full pardon...
But you were fine with racist broadcaster Rush Limbaugh.

Such a cautionary-tale-like moment in American history yet I am only now learning about this at 27 years of age. Wow.
I'm 60. Just found out myself.
@@goudagirl6095 me too
I'm shocked to have only learned of this at age 56. And these events are so much more recent than I realized... Such a profound level of corruption surely has not yet been addressed even today.
Interesting to see a discovery or revelation that shows true ownership and folks are like aww great story without acknowledging the powerful legal ramifications of such a reveal of information.
Can’t wait for the movie
This is insane. Why isn't this better known ??
Im guessing it will be soon now that this story will be Leonardo DiCaprios next big film this year.
The same evil Forces that stole the money are still protected
Bro the history of America is based on fucking the natives over. It's basically American history in a nutshell
I went to Barnes & Noble Book Store when the book David Grann wrote on this 'Killers Of The Flower Moon', came out. . . They should have had a nice pile of copies, but nothings there instead. That's pretty strange.
Martin Scorsese made a movie about this called The Killers of the Flower Moon.
Stop giving comments under Persian!!! We IRANIAN ( Persian ) knew well the history of Native well and we Respect ✊ well From IRAN 🇮🇷!!!!
And "YET" this Strategy is Still being Practiced today, and has been adopted by other Nations, Globaly.
I call it a formula. And yeah it is done globally unfortunately.
Amazing history also sad...but we are still here.
The descendants of the Osage tribe must be paid reparations for this brutal theft,.
And now that's elevated a tragic and cruel series of events into a thoughtless national holiday. The more we know about the American Indian the more we should realize that one has done what has been done to them is no less than an atrocity.
When you're born into this world, you're given a ticket to the freak show. If you're born in America you get a front row seat.

The fact that Osage County/Rez was only a few miles away from Greenwood is wild...Guess the Okies didnt want anyone other than themselves prospering.
That is sadly,so true.
Im so sorry that this happened to the Osage nation. How sad. May the victims rest in peace. Amen 🙏🏼 🌹🕊 The evil that was perpetrated on them is very disgusting. History needs to be kept alive or we are doomed to repeat it.
This breaks my heart
This was so sad...I cried.
He did not confess from remorse, he had no choice , after being forced to tell, should had never been pardoned. All should had received the death penalty for this genocide committed on these people.justice will be served soon come
I can’t watch this, it just upsets me so much. Mans inhumanity to man. America has no reason to feel proud of its history at all.
Mans inhumanity to man it not an American thing it is a global thing!
And my people, the true Americans are never thought of at all. No ines considers what was done to us and taken from us. All that's ever talked about is slavery. As if that's America's greatest sin. The world over had slavery and still.does. slavery has been in existence from the beginning of man. But uea, we are never discussed
America has a history of Greed Genocide Slavery Mass Deception murder of unborn babies and is an immoral place that is soon going to be a 3rd World Nation . Why people are so eager to live there is beyond me!
@@blaine1124 we were taught it from when we were the Indians someone did same to us we pretend we were different

I have been fascinated and entrigued by the Native American Indians. They are all beautiful people 👍🙂

For the love of money is A root of all kinds of evil. Not the only.

Sad 😞. Schools don’t teaches this sad American history.

Schools don't teach everything , too much history to cover , not happy of what those murderers did which has nothing to do with the majority of Americans ,but America now is the most beautiful most successful most complete country in the world .. me personally I love America 🇺🇸

Some versions I've seen say Henry Roan was a cousin, and others say he was as Mollie's first husband (with Burkhardt being her second).
I just started reading a book about this.
What an evil, awful group of people. As soon as I heard the land had oil, I knew it was bad news for the Osage. I’m so sorry your people were exploited in this way. I grieve for the lives of your people and my own. The same would have been done had black people lived on this land.
Yes and it would have been the same if Irish people had inherited the land . Evil is evil.

How could they commit such evil and not expect to Pay one day.

What’ a shame ..greed racism and a who care’s attitude of several people outside the Native people..
I am a registered Osage & very proud to be.
Saw this last night on CNN's This Life with Lisa Ling. I wish these things were actually taught in school. Why not teach about the Osage and even the Tulsa Race Massacre. Didn't find out about this stuff until I was an adult.
It starting to get mentioned, that’s what some are calling “Critical Race Theory” SMH. It’s just truth, I guess it’s because people are afraid of it.
Many white Americans are afraid to confront their own country’s history. As a white American I see this as shameful and cowardly.
They don't want people to know how 💩 shitty they are
So the government did it to to the Indians again another treaty broken
Exactly! They have never honored one!
They're not actually "Indians". That was some ignorant Eurotrash calling them that because he didn't know where the hell he was. Indians are in India, a long way away. Which is where he thought he was.
They are the original owners of this land, so they're real natives. We call them First Nations or by their tribes' names.
All Treaties ever written were broken by the US government.
@@Find-Your-Bliss- yes they were sad as that is well for that matter the government is still doing it to everybody else
Makes me a little sick to my stomach.
Would really like to know if the land that was stolen is still in the hands of the family that murdered the Osage?
So the book lists a Scott Mathis as a guardian who had 7 deaths under him and he collected their estates after death. Anyone who lives in Oklahoma knows that Mathis name :) Scott Mathis owned a trading store in Osage county. Them Mathis brothers are weird and so was their ancestors.
