I am a big fan of true crime and fancy myself somewhat of an "armchair detective." So often I watch these cases screaming in my head, "What is wrong with these police officers/detectives/attorneys/judges/juries???" In this case, it is the total opposite and this is an example of absolutely brilliant police work. The Devon police did a superb job working with virtually nothing to solving the case of an international con man and murderer. Great job Britain!
“If somebody’s religious you trust them, you believe in them.” Speak for yourself lady. Religious people are the last people I would trust about anything
And I would sense that about you, and not try to use it. Marks have all kinds of weaknesses; religion is a common and very, very easy one to detect and use, but only one of many.
Well right there, "religious" is your first mistake. A religious person cannot be trusted period but a True born-again Believer follower of Christ can be there's a difference
I wonder how this man could use his daughter like that. He is obviously a Sociopath or worse. Knowing there are men and women in the world like this is so frightening. Good for law enforcement to put all the pieces to the puzzle together.
I hope he’s still in prison. He was transferred to Canada and unfortunately Canada has a bad habit of letting murderers out of prison. Murderers should be in prison for life with no parole
Have you ever spent time in a prison ? Six months, eight months, a year, two years, three years, four years, seven years, nine years... ? A long time in prison is a very hard punishment.
Rita Horvath yeah well I think if you murder you deserve punishment and you forfeit your freedom. Also in prison they cannot commit murder to another innocent person
Did anyone even tried to charge him for his incestuous relationship with his daughter which started when she was only 15? Based on how his daughter acted around him, she looked like she might have been forced by him to submit to a relationship she knew was wrong.
I agree. Seems like she was forced to submit to him and follow his rules. She had to carry his babies, and be a part of this crime and deception for many years. Disgusting behavior.
I watched this docco a few times, and I thought the daughter had a child with a partner or an ex, and he was claiming it’s his wife & daughter to throw people off.
Amazing set of circumstances came together at the 'perfect' time, to catch an arrogant sociopath. Great detective work, and one of the most riveting crime documentaries I've seen in years. Great job all around. Glad the guilty party received justice but I truly hope that man's daughter will find a way to deal with the insanity and unfairness her father intruded upon her innocent life. Very, very sad.
Let me see if I’ve got this straight. He and his young daughter we’re pretending to be a man and wife, and they were having babies? Have I got that part correct?
If you are apart of the religion you dont think twice about the person sitting beside you in church or any other holy place because they don't think someone who believes in God or a god can do something like that. Its people who are outside the religion have the same views of why would you trust someone because they are religious because it's mostly common knowledge that anyone can be a murderer even if the are religious
Tammy here, using my son's phone. Yes and that bald detective is really attractive to 60 year old me ☺ He reminds me of David Gilmore of Pink Floyd who I've been watching documentaries on and interviews with the last day or two 😍
Wasn't one of the Kinks called Dave Davies? I remember thinking when they were popular, if you were called Mr and Mrs Davies - wouldn't you choose a different name from David for your son?
'If someone's religious you trust them, you believe in them'.......how crazily true that is, much to so many people's detriment. Religion is not a good character reference and should never be assumed to be. It's so often the mask of those who are evil.
You are absolutely spot on Sarah..I have been a victim of a crime twice and both were so called Christians.. Elaborately used Christianity to hide their devious evil doings,. I am no longer a dunce and view Christians as fellow human beings and nothing more. Humans, whatever race religion or whatever they are in life are capable of anything.
Yes because after all, you can trust a catholic priest for example, its not as if they are members of the largest organised paedophilia protecting organisation in the entire world or anything. Anyone spot an issue in trusting someone because they seem very religious?
So let me get this straight you are sitting at a desk working as a receptionist and out of the clear blue sky someone offers you a job as a director of their corporation and no antennas go up? From what I've read, his daughter has said she wants privacy, and doesn't seem to want the parentage of the children talked about--that's probably why they don't address it here. She has been quoted as saying she thinks he's evil, and that she feels the need to protect her family from him.
Either Albert Walker is a very intelligent man, or he's done this before. How did he get it so perfect? Does he have prior experience to pull off such an almost perfect murder? Am I tripping or does anyone else think this isn't Walker's only murder?
Took an incredible number of circumstances to come together for this guy to be found out. How does one explain that? Starting with the fishermen deciding to go 6 miles farther out and dropping their nets in the same place the body had been disposed of. Incredible coincidences.

When the daughter testified at Walker's trial, the judge specifically forbade the lawyers to ask any questions about the paternity of her children, as it was not relevant to the murder, but it seems obvious that the childrens' father is also their granfather. They were living as man and wife. Who else did she know ?
Just because something or a series of highly unlikely events occur doesn't mean divine intervention is involved. Think about how unlikely it is to win the big prizes in the lottery, tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions to one but it happens regularly. That's the problem with religion, people want to believe that god is responsible for something happening so they convince themselves of it.
Where was your God when this guy was raping his daughter? Where was God when the victim needed to be saved? Where is God when millions of children are starving to death? There is no God. It's a mythical "being" that doesn't exist.
Of course there are perfect murders. They are the ones that DON'T appear on TV because no one was caught and in some cases it was covered up so well as to perfectly convince people that it was an accident. 900,000 people go missing in the U.S. every year. You can't seriously tell me that some of those aren't perfectly constructed murders.
Its a bit sad but you just cant trust anyone, sometimes even those who are close to you betray you or those who seem so good and perfect because no one is perfect.
The Artful Dodger If he wanted it to look like an accident and it was known that Platt loved his watch and always wore it, removing the watch would only bring more suspicion. Assuming Platt’s identity was the biggest mistake, if the detective had asked who’d lived next door and the old couple said “David Davis” then that likely would’ve been the end of it, no further enquiries.
Did you know? Prior to carrying forms of ID, one of the most common ways of identifying a body was by the watch. Pocket watches were the more common type carried and were often serviced and marked inside with a service number. Watches from the early 1900s and 1800s are often covered with these numbers. Law enforcement would check with local jewlers to see if they could match them.
@@ericsbuds Probably doubtful the children belong to anyone else. I'm sure they are his. What a sicko. I don't see a man on the lam allowing his daughter around anyone without him present. Alek Samson What if they’d identified the body some other way, eg dna. Then it would look even more suspicious if his story was that it was an accident and the bloke had his prize possession missing.
Oh no bro god was against this guy from day one. Some divine intervention

Just because something or a series of highly unlikely events occur doesn't mean divine intervention is involved.
