👉 I have a question I've been wondering about for some time. If Satan cannot read our mind, isn't it better to pray in silence? But if we do choose to pray out loud, won't there be more spiritual warfare since the enemy can now here our struggles and prayers in the name of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach ❓Thanks - Norm in Miami Florida 🌴

    • @JDC481
      @JDC481 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

Good question. The Bible says: Resist the devil and they flee. So I believe our prayers are a great weapon of resistance to the Devil that make them flee rather than attracting more warfare. They war against us like a roaring lions all the time anyway. Prayer works as a spiritual weapon against their attack and plan. My 2 cents. I'd love to hear Dr. Woods answer to that too.

The great men of the Old Testament prayed out loud. David cried out to the Lord, for example. It was a very Jewish thing, very emotional waving of arms and hand motions. Whether weeping, or praising or making a request. Not always, but often.

Thank you Andy Woods, I've learned so much through your teaching but I do have some questions regarding gifts... can you tell us where is says in scripture that some of the gifts have passed away. I'm also wondering about people who do speak in tongues, why do some still receive that gift? I'm reading the book God's Generals and the men and women that God used in a mighty way in healing, deliverance, evangelism, speaking in tongues etc. Its just amazing what was happening in the early 1900's. How could God move in such a mighty and powerful way at that time if these gifts have passed?

Pastor, I really appreciate your insight on the marriage portion of this Q and A. Would it be possible to ask for further insight from you on, if in my case I failed in being patient and married someone which I have found does not have the equal triad of match needed to that perfect union of two peoples? What do I do? We deff have differences especially in ministry and what our priorities are. I can say however that God definitely confirmed His blessing on us after getting married in multiple ways and still provides in amazing ways but just we as a couple have much more difficulty in our marriage due to from what I see now, this mis match in the 3 parts of who we are. Thank you and God bless you 🙏

    Regarding Women in the Ministry:
I totally agree concerning the pulpit but what about a Sunday School class? I am in a
Sunday School class (primarily baby boomer age) of couples and we rotate among
four different teachers---2 male and 2 female. The Lesson is already formatted with
the prescribed associated passages in a given book. The church (Baptist) agrees with
the pulpit distinction but does not make an issue of a woman being a co-teacher or in
a teaching rotation for a mixed Sunday School class. I am not arguing a position, just
looking for some input as to what is Biblically correct.

This verse always comes to mind on the subject of a person who confesses to believe but later denies or changes their mind...
    I Peter 1:5 NKJV
[5] who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Can true faith from God actually go away?
    Can true belief be lost?
Is it not kept by the power of God?
I pray we are indeed kept by the power of God.

Thank you so much for doing this!!! My question is, if someone becomes saved after the rapture and then faces having to take the mark of the beast, knowing that one cannot lose their salvation, but the Bible says that if you take the mark you cannot be saved. So for those who become saved, but may make a poor decision regarding the mark of the beast due to fear, hunger or whatever… how will that work? It seems to me that new believers after the rapture will most likely not be faced with the decision to take the mark, they will simply be killed because they are believers. I think this because of the scripture that says God writes his name on us once we become his. Can Satan see those who are believers? If he can, what would be the purpose in Trying to influence a believer to take the mark of the beast if their salvation cannot be lost? Can you please give me your thoughts on this according to scripture thank you so much.

I only see it twice in Acts. Peter, who was given the "keys to the kingdom" was given the role of opening the "door" to the different races of people. The Jews in Acts 2 followed by the Samaritans in Acts 8 and Gentiles in Acts 10.
Paul's laying on hands in Acts 19 is because the Ephesians only knew of John the Baptist baptism.

The issue I have in general is the unscriptural operation of church leadership, not just them setting the rules. The church has been steamrolled by the culture so something is indeed wrong.
We are heading back to house churches and small, Holy Spirit led assemblies. Powerless, autocrat experts selling books, audio and video recordings have led to the apostasy we are now facing. The Apostle Paul declared to the Corinthians that he didn’t come with men’s wisdom but the demonstration of the Spirit and Power. This, we lack.

2:29 great follow up to that is, why do most men remove hats to pray (head uncovered) but women virtually never pray with head covered?
    Symbolic or physical?

    • @kristenspencer9751
      @kristenspencer9751 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

In the west (U.S., England, etc.) removing a hat when entering into a church was a show of respect for the House of the Lord. ---what people used to call churches. Women seldom wore hats. And if they did, wearing a hat in church was considered different for women than for men...part of their 'outfit' or outer clothing. That verse in the Bible speaks mainly to the culture at the time, than it is a direction for us today. But we can learn some basic principals from it. To God, it's more about the heart.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit come from God the Father. He gives them as He sees fit. Who are we to tell God what He can do or not do? With that being said there are lying signs and wonders with the majority of what you see on TV falling into that category. I want to allow God to move as He desires. As with all things, the Word is our standard. And all should be held up to the light of scripture. So when I hear that people in Muslim countries are coming to faith through dreams, I say amen.

    QUESTION:
Lately the show The Chosen has been coming up in conversation in my family more and more. Some love it but I do not! What are your thoughts about this show? I'd love to hear your take on it brother Woods.
There is much about The Chosen that should concern the sincere Christian. This show blends every major religion into one pot: a mystic, pantheistic, ecumenical, feministic, Jesuit, and Mormon golden calf. The director of The Chosen says that the show is more than 95% not based on the Bible, so I wonder why so many people that claim to be Christian love the show? It is candy-coated with Biblical references to appear Bible-based while treating the Word of God as just another book. Personally I think it is heretical and blasphemous.
Thank you! Love and appreciate your teaching and faithfulness to rightly dividing the word of truth. God Bless you and your ministry. 🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️

EDIT: I wrote my reply before reading all comments. Now that I have, I’m choosing to leave my reply up because it has added info. God bless you in your search for Truth! I also appreciate your politeness; it is too rare these days. ❤gr
Morning Debi. The stories that are ‘coming alive’ to you are not true. A half-truth is a whole lie. Be careful what you put into your soul. The Bible tells us to study Scripture daily and reject what is not true. (Acts ch 17, v 11)
If the series has driven you to the Bible, as you learn Truth, you will come to view this series for what it is: a net to bring in those who are comfortable believing a lie. Scripture tells us that in the last days people will seek “smooth things” (lies) over Truth.
Can God use it? He used Balaam’s donkey; all things are possible for God. That said, The Chosen is anti-Christ and preparing *those who are **_willfully_** ignorant to accept the coming deception.* I’m not saying that; the Bible is. Be careful what you put into your soul. ❤gr

I would point you to the Samaritan woman. our bible is so Trustworthy! ☺️
      John 4:28-30
[28] So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, [29] “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” [30] They went out of the town and were coming to him.
      John 4:39
[39] Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.”

Sounds like you are referring to the controversial verse about a woman "teaching" a man. That word "teach" is very much mis-interpreted. Did it say "not teach the Bible?" No, it did not! That word "Teach" means to instruct as with a sharp tongue...like a verbal lashing. For example, today we might say this: You Tube video title: "Liberal college student gets "taught" by Charlie Kirk". Was Charlie teaching someone? NO! He used his words to win an argument. The scripture is saying that when in public, a woman should honor her husband. She should not speak words that put him down, make him appear silly or stupid, or otherwise have an argument with him in public. Look at all the famous women missionaries: Amy Carmichael, Jackie Pullinger ("Chasing the Dragon"), Elizabeth Elliot whose husband and 3 other men were killed in 1956 in Ecuador on a mission to reach the native tribes. Remember, God gave the spiritual gifts of teaching and proclaiming and prophesy to the Body of Christ which includes both men and women. It never says women cannot/should not evangelize and share the Gospel. Or to lead at home Bible Studies if she knows the Bible really really well, and her husband hardly knows it at all (either b/c he's an un-believer or even a new believer). God never puts such restraints on us. That is called "Legalism". The only place specifically reserved for men is ELDER. The Bible states that an Elder of the church should be a man b/c it is a leadership position. Preaching and teaching are NOT leadership positions.

Sounds like a great topic for personal research! Not all older women walk closely with the Lord. Not all older women have necessarily been saved for very long and may themselves just have started on their Christian journey. But for those women who possess sound doctrine, live sound lives...not prone to over spend or be in love with the things of the world, and who demonstrate Christian maturity...THEY are the ones who can (and should) minister to the younger gals and help them in their walk with the Lord.

I believe and agree with the Bible about womans role in the ministry and teaching. However, Im member of a church where my Pastor won't permit women praying aloud or reading from the bible in church, basically he wont allow a woman to speak in church congragation isnt this taking it a bit far? it just doesnt feel right?
My second question and one i often have a hard time understanding is what is the difference between soul and spirit in the Bible or is this word used interchangeably?

If the new is the fulfilling of the old then shouldn’t we look for examples in the old unless Jesus expanded its meaning such as the divorce & adultery passages. We do not find any women in service in the old. Paul explained why this must be. Eve was deceived! She still is!! We are living in the fruits of women’s rule now days. Everywhere I look woman are running corporations churches governments it is a God-awful world we now live in. Cursed are you God said when children and women rule over you. Btw I am a woman

re: question 4...... I admire and respect Jan Markel and have heard you speak favorably about her before, yet she "speaks" to large and small mixed groups with both male and female....she is obviously a very studied and humble woman who God has used in various platforms.....can what she does be considered "speaking" rather that "teaching" or "Preaching" therefore making it OK to listen to her? or what is your position of her Conferences and other speaking engagements?

Yeah---see the problem this causes? Good grief! That a man might learn something from Jan and be edified! Jan is doing exactly what God has called her to do. I much admire her humility and she is a role model. People have long mis-interpreted that verse about "teaching". It never...repeat NEVER says "don't teach the Word...don't teach the scriptures." That word "teach" means to instruct with a sharp tongue...like a verbal lashing. We use that word all the time! Headline: Liberal college student gets "taught" by Charlie Kirk. It means that Charlie won the argument. In the Bible, it means that a woman should not say things in a public setting to put her husband down or make him look stupid. A woman should not argue with her husband in public, but wait until they get home. That is more honoring and pleasing to God.

Edification for me could also be something which I believe and know to be true is that of the gift of praying in a heavenly language which is found in Jude regarding braing in the Spirit building up yourselves relate to the reference in 1 Corinthians 13 where it speaks of both tongues of men and of 'angels'. Which I understand when the disciples spoke in tongues at pentecost it was different languages men speak but in 1 Corinthians 14:2 is taking about a heavenly language that only God understands. There are but two types of tongues that lf man kind which could be diverse languages of Nations and that of a heavenly language that only God understands, but when men are gifted with it it builds that person up when using in prayer. Jude is referring to this and then the Gift given only to those th Spirit give it is that of the ability to speak in a a language of a nation, particular group of people that even he does no know,, but those familiar with it as at pentecost heard their own language which is to be spoken only when it can be interpreted.
