Thanks for the tip, after disassembling the rear end of my Ducati as per your video I realised the battery was in fact under the front air box. Bad times! Good vid 👍
Gracias mi hermano, me ha resultado muy útil tu video, tenia que cargar la batería de mi KLR, pues he estado seis meses fuera. Te envió un Saludo desde Colombia.
Hi Jordy, Thanks for watching, I wonder if they disconnected the battery for any reason and didn't reconnect all the terminals, How did you have it wired? Mine is to the headlight so it is switched. Ross
No worries at all thanks for watching, and your comment, please remember to give the thumbs up, I have also made loads of videos on the KLR so check them out :) Ross
@@RossPerryProductions will definitely look into that .i have already subscribed to your channel looking forward to summer fun riding my klr 650 your video helped me alot coz my battery was completely dead lol , will leave it overnite charged up to see if she fires up tomorrow ..
Awesome video, I'm replacing my battery and there's a clear ventilation hose that comes with it. The previous battery didn't have one. Wondering where I'll put the hose?
Hi there Avery, the hose is a breather you just need to run it straight down there should be a pathway for it, some have them some don't depends on the type of battery. Check my video out at 3 minutes to see where it goes. Ross
Thanks! Question on the main fuse.. the one seen is a replacement right? How do you get to the active main fuse? Do you have to pull off the red cover?
Hi Eric, no I believe that one was original, the red cover is actually the electrical connection I believe, unfortunately I no longer have the bike to take a second look for you.
Thank you very much sir. I need to put an Off switch on my lights, so i can starts first before the lights sine. Now lights is on before bike starts, and battery runs off flat. I need to safe battery life. Where and how do i put a off switch on lights wirss ? Thank you.
Hi Justus, sorry for the delay I have been away, have you done the switch now? It is fairly simple you need to put the switch inline just after the 15A fuse, and before the connection to the handle bar dimmer switch (hi/low beam) check out the wiring diagram at the below link, you are looking fo9r the solid red line : www.ebscohost.com/assets-sample-content/Small_Engine_Repair_Reference_Center__Wiring_Diagram_Kawasaki.pdf
Hi Guillermo, I would suggest no, It is more likely there is a short that would deplete the battery and blow the fuse. That said it could be if you was trying to start for a long time and the starter had started getting hot etc.
@@RossPerryProductions Thanks for the response. I checked for shorts everywhere yesterday and could not find any. When I put the key on the lights turn on but pressing the starter button nothing happens. Its not the kickstand and its not the clutch either. The killswitch is "on". I checked all the fuses and they are all good. I'm starting to come to the conclusion that it is the starter engine, but it makes no sense. This happened after I left my keys on and the battery was drained. Thanks for taking the time.
@@guillermocaro2676 No worries at all, a few more things to try. Have you tried jump starting the bike using another battery? failing that I would be looking to directly connect the Starter Motor to another 12v battery via the high pass connections on the starter solenoid. Just follow the starter motor back to its location. If the battery and starter motor are all good, it sounds like you may need a new starter solenoid. Ross
It's battery time! Anyone tried a Monster PowerPro Gel battery on a 2006 era KLR650? Has good specs but the poles are reversed. I think some other batteries including lithium that will fit have the same issue. Wondering if it's going to be a problem connecting. Any thoughts please or experience : )
hi there, the battery on my bike is gel but not monster and the poles were not reversed. as long as the cables reach they be fine :) Are you sure they are not available the other way around? Ross
Thanks so much- once seeing half your video I went out and had the battery out in 2 minutes. Really do appreciate the details.

Hello, do you think that the starter fuse could have blown as a consequence of losing all battery power? Thanks

Los tornillos de las tapas laterales son que medida?
