    When my 6 month old Newfoundland puppy is excited, barking, jumping up, growling and wanting to play.... He doesn't respond to no or a pull on the leash. We have to restrain him with his collar to keep him from mouthing us or jumping up if we can catch him as he jumps away or puppy bows. We wind up physically getting him to go in his kennel to calm dowm. It isnt often maybe once a day but getting him to stop immediately would be be great. He is good at sir, stay, come etc unless he is in this excited state.

    I'm a little scared of my 9 mo old Newf and I'm looking forward to becoming his leader. His behaviour has been outrageous and now I'll be trying to catch up in his training.
