Great on you lad. Still miss my 1978 RD400. My first bike Lol. Not a race rocket like the TZ, however it had some balls. Especially when piped and jetted. Keep the rubber side down brothers and keep those revs above 7K on a 2-stroke. 🙂 Cheers and thanks. Damn I'm old. It's good to see that the old girls got some balls.
Yeah! And they wonder why bike racing attendance and TV views have tumbled for the casual racing fan.....Rossi, Biaggi, Capparosi, Edwards all racing 2 tappers was a joy to watch..
Thanks for all the compliments about my bottom! sadly they won't allow you to put a camera on the tank on this particular track day, otherwise believe me I would have
I think that 1, if it was your OWN Bike , with which you were Really Familiar , and 2 , actually set up Properly for the Track and Jetted REALLY sharp rather than Well but Safe , things might be different . No Seizing , thanks . Those can go REALLY fast , despite the Age .
I remember seeing photos of some early TZs with the lower tuned pipe chambers were shaped with flat sections to allow more cornering clearance during full clip.
Deep joy and happy memories 🙂🏁 Back in the 80’s I had a Rickman CR1000 and a GT750 kettle…….. the kettle was ported heavily, jetted, geared…… with an Applebee crank and Allspeeds 😊. Not a patch on a TZ but lively and tuneful……. A chap called Nick Foot(?) had a similarly altered GT kettle and we used to make music along the Epping New Road to the splendid High Beech - Epping……. The point to this nostalgic ramble, we used to ride with a chap called Rob Green(?) on a barely Road legalised TZ750, needless to say we couldn’t catch him……… and another chap with a Moto Martin Venom, which I recall had stickers on the fairing saying it achieved 163mph at MIRA 🙂🇬🇧 By far the most trick at that time was a mates Sanders & Lewis GT750, with Dymags and a three into one…….. sounded a lot quicker than it actually was, stock engine and three into one wasn’t optimum………. Great to see and hear the TZ 🏁
I'm sorry but, even though I love any 2-stroke sound the @$$ Cam is really not the view I want to see on a TZ750 ride. The bike is definitely tuned well from the sound of it. Current owner of a '76 RD400 that I will never sell under my will of course, lol.
@@SNAFU.. I wasn't apologizing. The sound was great butt(pun intended), I would rather see the road instead of some ones @$$. And yes, I did watch a different video.
I may be wrong but I think all of the TZ750's were essentially for open class racing, if there were (say) country models (USA v EUR v JPN) I don't know about them; anyone else ?

This is a 'Formula One" Motorcycle from Yamaha. Or until the AMA killed it. Back in 82-83? Love this bike. You have to be raised on a two stroke, to race one. Just saying..........
Great bike but why did you put the camera looking at your rear , it would have been nice to see what’s up front . You would get a better picture of the track & speed
I used to have a TZ750, rode it on the street.....wasn't much fun trying to keep it in one piece. Wanted to watch the video for a walk down memory lane. Couldn't look at some guys ass for however long it was displayed front and center.
@@lussoveloce Thanks. I managed to find a front view lap of the IOM TT circuit. Sounds very 70’s/80’s racing 2-stroke but cool. I always hankered for the TZ750 back in the early 80’s but funds only afforded me a TZ350; fond memories of the brilliant Japanese design and quality engineering, winning pedigree indeed. Thanks once again.
By modern standards the TZ 750 isn't fast at all. Lots of power for the day and very light weight, but had a flexy frame, crap suspension, brakes and tires. This combination was what made the TZ so legendary and scary. I remember seeing footage of Roberts on one and the entire bike was wallowing and wiggling coming out of the corner.
Thats an Explosively Scary Fast 3cyl. 2stroke TZ-750 on a Slow, tight, technical Track on such an undercast , damp, gloomie day on cold tyres . And the fact that it is now collectible , imaculate and probably very expensive now . Thats why you see him getting pass by smaller, slower bikes at tat point 🚴
That's way more than enough of the arse-camera mate! Completely obscures the view ahead and the gauges (which is the whole point of an on-board camera) and obliterates the sense of speed and position on the road. Arse cameras should only be used by proctologists.
@@russellemms6970I stand corrected - it would be better to say that it's one of the best suited to bikes overall, and it's the most fun of any for smaller ones. I have to confess that I haven't ridden (or driven it) but I spanner-wielded for friend when he was club racing back in the 90's - it was his favourite track by a long margin.
That is 1 immaculately turned out machine. Beautiful 😍

What a beautiful machine. The acceleration is phenomenal. Sounds great.
I love these big strokers.
My biggest claim to fame was that I beat one of these in the TSGP race at Brands Hatch in 2014 on my KR1!

jeez, can you imagine racing that in anger.
brilliant.

Sounds like it's being reved no where near red line?
Now that’s a bike ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can you please explain why the pipe goes under the saddle, (it’s always been a bit of a mystery to me)?
it's simply due to the lack of space for all of the expansion chambers and the need for ground clearance. The only place left is under the seat!
left side of the bike & the swing arm, has the drive-chain, so there's less room to have both the pipes alike the right hand pair on the left...
I remember seeing photos of some early TZs with the lower tuned pipe chambers were shaped with flat sections to allow more cornering clearance during full clip.
is it normal to get a had on looking at a bike
