As mentioned in another comment...SPD technology is far superior to the PDLC used in this video. Get with the program TESLA! TESLA makes great products, don't skimp out on the glass technology. Add SPD and drastically reduce the greenhouse effect inside the car and reduce the load on the AC system thus reducing energy usage. Extend range between charges with SPD!

One with a significantly minimalist border would be necessary for us to even consider such a modification, since the glass roof is one of the features that adds to the over all experience of driving a TESLA, which many vehicles don’t even offer… We agree that it would be great if TESLA offered an OEM version, and eventual option for their vehicles during purchase. After all they eventually incorporated additional ambient lighting and a rear screen in the newest Highland version Model 3… 🤔

You should’ve done a test without the shade to see how hot it got inside at 91* outside. Maybe just the shade would save more heat. Example without shade inside is 120* with shade opaque 97* with clear 101*??

But after using it yesterday in 100F+ weather and we park the car out in the sun about 3 hours I was impressed and felt like it reduced a lot more than I thought. Because when got in the car it felt a lot cool than I think it would be in 100F weather and I left it on Opaque. I believe the sunshade itself both with and without opaque already had UV coating on it. Opaque function definitely helped more to reduce the sun rays from getting in the interior. Make this like 299$ add a discount code and some decent support and also a non 12v plug option and I could see this taking off.
