  • Thanks for your patience while we've been working on other projects recently. Thankfully we are now back in the garden and working on getting organised ahead of growing our vegetables this year. Come and have a little look around at what's flowering in the last week of May, and join us as we sort out the greenhouse and polytunnel too.

That hosta by the barrel is spectacular! it would do great in the shade border or where the tulip cut bed was.

In California we have a weedy Verbascum (V. Thapsus) - all the flowers that I have seen are yellow. I wonder if the unusual colored foxgloves are F1 hybrids or what. Curious to see what comes of them! I love their cottage garden feeling along with hollyhocks and all the bulbs ❤ in coastal CA we don’t get the cold needed for crocus and such so I really love seeing these cold-winter things. thanks for sharing!

All my foxgloves when I first planted were white with burgundy speckles and now all the self seeded plants are all pink!

Your garden is so lovely. I particularly like the irises.
Where did you get your shed from? It has a lot of character and I like the way the tree grows through it.

The garden is looking wonderful. Putting branches of holly over the pea and bean seeds is meant to deter mice

In regards to verbuscum. I collect seeds every year for the next season. My white always produces white babies.

Whenever I don’t know the name of a plant i use the app picture this! You take a photo of a plant and it gives you the name! (There are also app like this for insects, birds, mushrooms, rocks and fish!)

They do. I believe they are fjallraven pants. I have a few pairs. They are expensive but well worth it for working and hiking

I use slug pellets for slugs. It was a last resort but I made garlic water one year and it was just too much. I use Sluggo as it is suitable for organic gardening as it is just a mineral that doesn’t harm wildlife.

How do you remember the names of so many things ? Do you label or tag or write in a journal? Like once they are established
