Yes, of course! Our ONN brand wireless speaker works perfectly with the Bluetooth adapter shown in this episode. Other things I might not have mentioned: 1. The USB connector on the adapter supplies +5VDC power only. It does not conduct data. If your MBOX only has two USB ports, and they are already populated, then you can plug the Bluetooth adapter into your TV or even into a phone charger. As long as the adapter's audio cable goes back to the TV box, all three methods work fine. 2. With some TV boxes (like the MXQ with Android 4.4.2 shown in this video) it is possible to get a wireless Bluetooth speaker and the TV speakers working simultaneously. This works with Bluetooth ear buds, too, but when you do that there is a slight delay or echo (called latency). The audio settings on your MBOX may or may not allow simultaneous audio. You'll have to experiment with them to find out. If you can get simultaneous audio working, it might help someone who's hard of hearing and needs the TV turned up a lot louder than other family members would like. 3. If your TV has a standard 1/8 inch (aka 3.5 mm) headphone jack, then you can plug the audio cable (all the way) into the TV as well. That way, the Bluetooth adapter will work with everything else plugged into your TV, not just with the MBOX. But, if you do that, the TV speakers will be disconnected and they will not work simultaneously with the Bluetooth speaker. To get TV speakers working again (with air TV, cable box, other stuff plugged into the TV), you'll have to unplug from the TV's headphone jack (same as you would with wired ear buds or headphones). So, there are many ways to connect the device. We've been using ours ever since, and like it very much. Hope this helps. Thanks for commenting...
I know that MXQ video output is an either or situation. Either you get video out of the HDMI jack or you get video out of the 3.5mm A/V (composite audio video) jack, but you can NOT get video out of both jacks at the same time. When both are connected to a TV, only HDMI video out works. To get video out of the 3.5mm A/V jack, the HDMI cable must be disconnected. I've proved that many times, on many boxes. What I didn't know when you asked this question, is whether MXQ audio output was also an either or situation. I knew that when HDMI video is connected, you can get audio out of HDMI and A/V, or HDMI and coaxial SPDIF, but what about when composite video is connected? Would the SPDIF jack still work or would it get turned off? So, I tried this for you yesterday and yes, SPDIF audio out works perfectly on my MXQ when composite video is connected. Sound comes from both the TV and whatever I connect to the SPDIF jack - proving that while video is either/or, audio is and/or. So, the answer to your question is YES, provided you have the same MXQ as me, and provided you can find a reasonably priced Bluetooth adapter with coaxial SPDIF input. Most of the adapters I found online yesterday had optical SPDIF input, not coaxial SPDIF input. Coaxial is what you need. 3.5mm A/V input is not going to work (output jack is already in use) and optical SPDIF input is not going to work (optical output jack doesn't exist on our MXQs). Another thing to note: Bluetooth audio adapters with coaxial SPDIF inputs could either have 3.5mm jacks, in which case you'd need a shielded 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male, mono audio cable, or they might have RCA jacks, in which case you'd need a shielded 3.5mm male to male RCA cable. Hope this helps. Good luck! Thanks for asking...
@@LawrencePina A very detailed explanation from you sir, but im still confuse bcuz i forgot to mention that i want to connect it to my Bluetooth speaker, from your video i see that you use that device Bluetooth wireless Adapter will it work? to connect to my Bluetooth speaker? using that same device of yours that have 3.5mm male to male stereo jack to be plugged to the SPDIF hole of my TV BOX? since im using the AV hole to my old tv, will it work? since im surely know that the Bluetooth wireless adapter will surely work but im not sure about the 3.5mm stereo jack will work to be put into it, or should i buy a new 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male MONO jack? as u said and as i understand to your explanation, pardon me sir.
No, the device shown in this video does NOT work when plugged into an SPDIF(Sony Philips Digital InterFace) jack, because it does NOT process digital audio. It can only process analog audio. To work with the MXQ's SPDIF jack you need a functionally similar device with coaxial digital input. That device will most likely have an RCA jack and come with an RCA to RCA cable. For use on MXQ and other boxes with 3.5mm SPDIF jacks, you have to replace that cable with a 2-conductor, 3.5mm to RCA cable. Confusion comes from the fact that there are three, very different mini jacks used with 3.5mm diameter plugs: 1. Two conductor (signal and ground) originally used with transistor radio ear phones, wired VCR remotes, and most recently, SPDIF output on TV boxes. 2. Three conductor (Left Audio, Right Audio and Common Ground) used with stereo ear buds and headphones. 3. Four conductor (Composite Video, Left Audio, Right Audio and Common Ground) used for A/V output on camcorders, DVD players, and TV boxes. All three types look exactly the same on the outside so their function is easily mistaken. Almost no one knows how to use the 3.5mm SPDIF jacks commonly found on TV boxes. Just read the forums! Most of the people posting assume it's a headphone jack. It's not, and I hope these explanations have helped you to understand what it is.
Hi i have bluetooth dongle for mxq but it says bluetooth disabled in settings. I want to connect my wireless game pad . Do you know how i can do this pleased?
Here's the problem: There are two types of Bluetooth dongles, Transmit (only), like the one shown in this video, and switched Transmit/Receive. The Transmit (only) dongle shown in this video has two connections, analog audio in and +5V power via USB. It has no USB data functions. It can just as well be plugged into a phone charger. Audio in on the dongle connects to audio out on the MBOX via the included 3.5 mm stereo cable. When powered up, the dongle converts analog audio to digital and transmits it via Bluetooth. Pairing with wireless earbuds and speakers occurs automatically. Permission is not asked for. You don't have to accept, so Bluetooth software is neither included nor required. Now, to do what you want, you would need a Transmit/Receive dongle and the switch would have to be on receive. That dongle would have to have data lines on the USB plug. Unlike the Transmit only dongle shown in this video, it would have to plug into the TV box. You couldn't run it off of a phone charger. And, that dongle would have to come with an app (compatible with the particular version of Android on your TV box) that would convert USB data to Bluetooth data. The included app would have to recognize pairing requests and allow you to accept them. Android settings would have nothing to do with that. Does such a product exist? Maybe... There are dozens, possibly hundreds of T/R USB dongles on the market. Who's tested all of them, and all of the included apps, on every TV box, with every version of Android? No one, as far as I know. So, that's the problem. Hope this explanation helps. Good luck! Thanks for asking.
Transmitter mode should work exactly as shown, bit it's doubtful that receiver mode would work (on any TV box). USB on my adapter only provides +5V power supply (no data function). For that reason, it does NOT have to plug into the MXQ. It can be plugged into a phone charger instead (works just as well). It can be plugged into a USB port on a TV instead (also works just as well). The only thing that MUST be plugged (half way) into MXQ is an audio cable. Do that, set the Bluetooth adapter to transmit mode and it should work for you. I'm still using the Bluetooth adapter shown in the video with my MXQ. Works great. I like it very much. Good luck! Thanks for asking.
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the tip, very useful
Pleasant video.
Helped alot!
