That 4:41 "waddup?" look got me NGL Also i love your cover of all that are out there, this song means a lot to me and it even helped me during a very difficult times for me. As the other commenter in here said, i absolutely love that you included the live version for the ending. OOOOh the ending, the ending/outro is very dear to me. amazing work
Hell yeah!! One of my all time favourite songs!. So fun to play. I love the tapping. My go to song to just get in a grove and lose myself haha. Awesome work as always mate! Gotta make a few changes to how I play it that I noticed so I appreciate the lesson haha. Time to watch this a dozen more times! 🤘 (Love the pick fling at the end lol)
Good to know that you included that specific verse lick at the end just to show how it goes! Though, I wish I've known that before having to rewind the video 50x just to understand how to play it lol
It's fairly basic. Old Roland UA-25 EX interface, Logic pro, then mainly the LePou and Emissary amp sim plugins. I have a few paid for plugins - SSL channel strip, JST side widener, but mostly free one. I have a video up from a few years ago about free metal tones and I'm still mostly using the same signal chains.
Thanks for the cover and tabs of one of my favorite Gojira songs Steve! Honestly I've learned how to play a lot of Gojira songs through your videos, your tabs are very helpful :) I've always wondered how to do the weird pinch harmonic thing in the verses, always thought it was changing the positions of my pick for different pitches of the harmonic (kinda like the main riff from Magma), but it's actually just pinch while bending up, and then another pinch while bending down. Didn't realise it was that simple! I also like how you did a quick demonstration of this at the end, so I really appreciate it! Also, I didn't even know that there was a tap slide at 3:39, as well as different variations of the main riff. Good job on capturing all the little details that I never would have realized was there until you tabbed them out in this video! So thanks again Steve!
Thanks for the tab man It's been 2 years since I start learning Guitar, I start with learning black sabbath song and some others band, last year I try other tuning, Drop D and Drop C, blasting SOAD song and Lamb of God, but I find that LoG is quite difficult to learn as a beginner, so I stick with SoaD and then Gojira come to my life and gaining more techniques because of their song, God Damn I want to thank God for this, also I thank to you for all the tabs you've made It's still quite hard to learn Gojira stuff even after a years learning it, but I managed to play some of their song now such as A sight to behold, art of dying, flying whale, lizard skin and etc I'll learn this song along with world to come Once again thanks mate
Hi, great video! Do you have any tips how to make the pinch harmonic parts at 1:16 etc sound clean? Is there a trick to it? The rest of the song seems easy for me to learn, it's those goddamn pinch harmonics that I can't seem to conquer.
Awesome cover and thanks for including the tab! I've got my guitar in drop C and I'm going to give this a try. My pinched harmonics suck, but this gives me a good reason to get better at them.
I tend to find a tab on ultimate guitar as a base then check through it, comparing it to live videos. Also I will load the file in Logic Pro and use eq/panning to try isolate things that I'm unsure on. Sometimes I have to take my best guess as there's no live videos.
I'm no music expert, but sometimes, I wish they looped the intro on the last part of the song instead of repeating the single note outro (not exactly single note but I hope you get what I'm trying to say).
Try moving the picking hand up and down the strong a bit. There's certain spots that harmonics ring out really clearly and some spots where you can't get them. I have a couple of videos on harmonics on my channel too. It's all to do with nodes and anti nodes on the strings
I love how metal is sounding more advanced yet is getting simplistic. Gojira is the ultimate metalband!!!
I love lamp, and headbang!
Your covers are as good as the songs themselves. Learned so many Gojira songs thanks to you and can't wait to learn this one. Thank you!
Glad they've helped!
You make me want to learn all of these songs so badly. Thank you for what you do my man.
The tone is so spot on 👌🔥
One of. If not my favorite Gojira song. Sounds awesome dude. Keep up the amazing work
Thank you, there will be more 🤘

@@ShadowMantraSteve actually impressive that you're not using the Archetype Gojira plugin, at least even recently
@@himawarii_gg I use it, it's amazing!
daaaaaamn that tapping outro just ... majestic. Great cover!

Thanks of including the part at the end! Made it a lot clearer to my newbie brain.
No problem! Glad it helped
Great video, wanted to learn this one for a while
Fantastic cover Steve!
Thank you, pickups sounding great again!
Maaann ! Finally !! I was wondering when you would get to it !! Thank you !!
Hopefully worth the wait!

Nice job 👍
Thanks🤘
The cleanest cover I’ve seen man, fuccin awesome I was trying to do that on acoustic and it just doesn’t do the song service
Thank you 🤘🤘
That little double pick squeal in the verse is hard to pull off i must say. But man suck a cool idea. Only gojira think of these ideas.

I run through pinch harmonics at the end of this video th-cam.com/video/B1l2r8GAtYQ/w-d-xo.html
you just can’t avoid making a face when those whammy pinch bends hit😫
Awesome cover and thanks for including the tab! I've got my guitar in drop C and I'm going to give this a try. My pinched harmonics suck, but this gives me a good reason to get better at them.
Keep at it! One day they will click into place and become much easier to hit
@@ShadowMantraSteve I will. Thanks man!
Gojira grind with tabs please, that song is so beautiful 🙏

Dope work mate! 😍
Amazing
I can't seem to make it sound right at 1:05 it just sounds like im strumming fast with no rhythm. what should i do?
Without seeing/hearing what you're playing it's a bit hard to advise. If you want to record yourself and email me a TH-cam link I'll take a look.
@@ShadowMantraSteve alright thanks
If you're still struggling, the way I do it is with downpicks

@@ShadowMantraSteve you deserve one. You have the best channel for gojira. You play flawless. 🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯
Shit. I just noticed I've been doing the tapping part wrong the whole time. 😂haha.
Great cover too!!👌🏻
I had been playing some of it wrong as well until I went back to it for this video. So easy to miss some of the smaller details!
Fucking awesome! Gracias, amigo

bro i need genuine help, how are you hitting that pinch harmonic so well is the verse, its literally the only thing i cant get

Hi sir ,can u play "beside" "spirit in black"
Sir Can i use it for my wrestling entrance?
as a beginner guitarrist I must ask 2:51 WTF IS THAT???????
It's a natural harmonic that sits just behind the third fret. In guitar pro it writes it as 2.7 in angled brackets.
Ocean planet?
That's an awful lot of tippity tappity !!
I forget pretty much the whole last minute of the song is just tapping
@@ShadowMantraSteve It's a great underrated song that I have never gotten round to learning, you have inspired me to learn it now!
What is repeting many times. First time i see this notation
Natural harmonics
