Hi . Nice clear video. One tip I suggest any owner does is PRE FILL the oil filter before fitting. As this filter is fitted upright and nearly vertical it is easy to pour in fresh oil into the filter. The reason for doing that is when you first start the car after the change, the cars oil pump has to first fill the oil filter before any oil can then be pumped to the crucial areas of the engine. It is possible during this several seconds (possible 20 secs) that you are doing more harm to the engine than you realise. Even so, never rev the engine until the oil warning light goes out. ;)
I have a 2002 1.3L Auto with 87.000 miles here in the UK and these are great cars! I changed from 10w/30 to 5w/30 as i do little miles. My top advice is to change the oil frequently and way before the service recommends as the engine/VVT-i will like you for it incl the timing chain. The VVT-i engine needs pretty clean engine oil otherwise you'll regret it.I've never had any problems with my Yaris and an oil change every 3-4k is a healthy engine.

Good job. I would just say that you should never over fill the oil. I would check the dipstick to make sure I don't do this. You're the only youtuber I've seen that cleans off the engine before putting the oil pan nut and new filter on.
Hello fellow 1.5 TS owner. I have this car for 12 days now and i want to also change the oil myself. Does the car need any angle to let the oil run out? Or just straight horizontal is ok? Do i need this whole list: - 4 liter of 5w30 - new washer and drain bolt - oil filter
HI now i have also got a 1.5 and the 1.0 eco is stil running bought the yaris t sport for 1200 euro with 170 000 kms same collour as yours.. But why 5w30 it says in het book 10w40..
@@kolfamalo8399 Think you can use 10/30 or even 5/30 as it's more fuel efficient. The 5w/30 is better for colder climates.I have a Yaris in the UK and pretty cold in winter time so i changed from 10w/30 to 5w/30 as i do short trips which 5w/30 is good for.

Very clearly explained, no mucking round. Thanks
Thanks for the video. Managed to do this today on my car for the first time ever 👍

That's wise advice 😉!

Do i need this whole list:

Hi ! Great buy 😁 👍. Just drain the oil with the car horizontal. You're good with the list (you can keep the old drain bolt if you want).
@@fab-b9818 ah okay thank you! Because i couldnt find where to order this bolt and the washer for the bolt.
Now with confidence i can work
Best videoon how to do this. Thank you 🖒
Does this car have power steering fluid or electric power steering?
It's hydraulic power steering.
why you put 5w30? i thought 10w40 is the engine oil for the Yaris. i have one 1.0 eco yaris
Hi, I don't know about the 1.0 but the 1.5 TS requires 5W30.
