Unbelievable. Left Ctrl key was sticky so I thought I could just pop it off and clean it real quick. Bad idea! Couldn't figure out how to put it back on so I took the Windows Key off to get a look at a key that was working correctly. +1 Bad idea. NOW TWO KEYCAPS OFF! lmao. I was about to throw the whole thing in the trash. This video saved me. Both keys are back on and I'm back in business. Very grateful for this how to.
Had a non-responsive key, got it off and thankfully nothing was broken, video was great for showing how to get it back together. also shout out to the ifixit kit.
This video reminds me of the golden age of youtube. Also, I love how you said to be careful with the spring, only to lose it for a second haha. Thanks for the informative video!
Got a refurbished K100air for an insane Discount and yeah... the keyboard is like new one but two caps gone away, when I finished my work on Pc. So this one is a really new one, so I thought I have to send it back, but then I found your video and now I repaired it and got the k100 air for this discount !! And it works really really fine. So thank you very very much for this video!! Go on for it. It was really easy to follow all your steps, I can saw all of the details for the mechanism.
Thank you bro! You saved my W :)) It came off all together with the spring and both wings but still attached, and I almost bend them trying to put them together. So from what I can see, this is not a mechanical keyboard, it's membrane with feeling of mechanical :( we have been fooled by Corsair :(
Okay, I have been waiting for months for a video like this. THANK YOU SO MUCH. My "T" key fell off and the mount broke while trying to get everything reassembled. So I just put the keyboard away and pulled out an old one. Thanks to your video I was able to repurpose the "Scroll Lock" as the "T" key and get my keyboard functional again! So now I just need to buy the correct replacement parts to get it back to factory condition! :)
Thank you for a really useful guide! I managed to fix one of my keys that popped out accidentally. I wouldn't know how to do it without the instructions and pictures in this video. Really helpful :)
I traveled with it in my trunk, and my Number 2 key was stuck down (and unresponsive) for some reason and when I tried lifting it, I immediately knew I messed it up; if it wasn't already. This video actually fixed it. Only thing now is that it doesn't have the same rubbery feel the other keys do and is just hard, and a bit more sensitive too. Other that I can use my 2 key now.
Thank you so much for this video, even after watching I was sure I lacked the dexterity to perform this operation, but I kept at it knowing it was possible and how to do it, all thanks to you!
Does your ebay store sell the replacement with the spring mechanism? I'm missing that part. I have the keycaps. Just missing everything in between the keyboard and the keycap.
Awesome video! While trying to assemble my key again I lost where my spring went. I have tried to look for it to order online but I cannot the spring. I live in the states and cannot find these parts being sold individually and other places are foreign and won't ship to the US. Does anybody know the size of the spring so I could potentially order a generic one? TLDR: Tried to assemble key again. Lost spring key in the process. Need to order new spring but cannot find it. Need help :(
Hello apfeltasten, can you tell me how to disassemble this keyboard K100 Air? I have partially missing backlighting and on some keys the light does not correspond to the set color. I think it's because of smoking e-cigarettes and you can wipe the board dry with a cloth and everything will be fixed.
thank you for this video, it helped me a lot with fixing the keyboard. Also how can i find the white keycaps? i'd like to switch for white keycaps, can you link the shop for buying them?
www.ebay.de/itm/315306533370 In picture 7 you find a naked keyboard showing you mounts of the spacebar. There are some scissor mechanisms left and right. The Cherry Switch in the middle and some metalbars stabilizing the key. You'will need to start with the metalbars. This video will help: th-cam.com/video/r1ygLsL4MM8/w-d-xo.html But the difference is, it doesn't have a switch in the middle.
Is your spacebar "loud" any suggestions to fix it? I'm considering taking the key cap off to look under it. Haven't found any pics or vids. I'm thinking a little dialectric grease where (I assume) the stabilizer wires connect to the body. Here's a vid of how mine sounds - th-cam.com/users/shortsWipEppg6XyE

I am not quite sure, but maybe the sound of the spacebar is normal this way. It's a bigger key and is held in a different way, than regular keys. So I would assume a different sound.
@@apfeltasten yeah I ended up taking it apart and found where it was making the sound. I added grease and it's perfect now. I probably put too much, it's quieter than the rest of the keys a little. I love it

Tut mir leid, wenn ich so offensiv frage, aber kann man dir die Tastatur zur Reparatur schicken? Beziehungsweise, um eine Taste „zu fixen“?
